Case Studies

The World Petroleum Council is a

prestigious global association representing

the petroleum industry at all levels. They

also are the owners of the Annual World

Petroleum Congress, now in its 20th year,

which gather several thousand leading

industry figures together.

The WPC were looking for a twofold

solution: to provide a state of the art mobile

experience at the 20th World Petroleum

Congress in Doha, and to continue to

engage the audience with their own news

and messages after the event had finished.

We provided a Dual app for WPC, which

was perpetually a news app for the WPC

itself, but which also contained a fully

functional, high specification event app for

the Doha congress, and will be ready to do

the same as the next events come round.

The World Petroleum Council NACAC- National Association of

College Admission Counselors

APEC

NACACs leadership team had established

that a good proportion of their membership

used Smartphones and were keen to

modernise their event offering to take

advantage of

this trend.

NACACs Annual Conference, this year held

in New Orleans for around 4,000 member

and non-member attendees, is rich in

educational sessions, a multistream

schedule, varied fringe events and several

exhibitions.

Uptake of the app, and the feedback

received afterwards exceeded expectations

and so NACAC sought to capitalise on the

new mobile user base by adapting the apps

to provide year round engagement features,

plus a mobile version of their popular online

member directory.

The Asia Pacific Economic Congress is an

international summit of national leaders of

the Asia Pacific region, hosted this year by

President Obama in Hawaii. Co-located is

the APEC CEO Summit, a dynamic congress

of policy makers and senior corporate

leaders from all the economies in the

region.

For the CEOs it offers a rare opportunity to

spend time with Presidents, Prime Ministers

and senior government officials, while also

networking with each other. The organisers

wanted to maximise this and selected a

GenieConnect app as the primary means of

communication with attendees, and a tool

to facilitate peer to peer networking.

With world leaders on the agenda, the

organizers knew that even more acutely

than other event organizers that schedules

and timetables will certainly change. They

dispensed entirely with printed agendas,

could be sure they were referencing the

most up to date, real-time information. And

in addition, all attendees were listed in the
