Background and Experience

Please briefly present the organisation.

‘SE.M.I. – Seeds for More Interculture APS’ is a youth association based in Faenza (RA), Italy. Stating that we are all equal in creativity, SE.M.I. aims to provide youngsters with the possibility to live in a rich intercultural and creative environment where to exchange opinions and develop new ideas. In order to reach these goals the association organizes local and international, cultural and intercultural activities in the area of Faenza, with a focus on creativity, intercultural dialogue, self-development and communication. We believe that creativity can be applied to every aspect of life and that it can channel diversity into human brotherhood by establishing a common ground through different people and cultures. Similarly, language can be a powerful mean to positive communication instead of a barrier.

What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this application?

SE.M.I. is the first EVS accredited association in Faenza, with a sending accreditation gained in the beginning of 2017. Since then, SE.M.I. coordinated 2 EVS projects and will coordinate 3 more in 2029/2020. At the moment, SE.M.I. is the only association in Faenza that coordinates and promotes international volunteering in the frame of Erasmus+ and Solidarity Corps. For this reason, one of our goals is to spread the word about the opportunities offered by the ESC program and to share the knowledge that we gained on the field to allow other organizations to get a Quality label and start working with international volunteering, building a more cohesive Europe. The local activities in our community regard intercultural events linked with non formal education, to develop European citizenship and intercultural dialogue in the rural area of Faenza: - Collaboration with Coop. Libra in the management of Faenza youth center; - Courses with asylum seekers; - Promotion of inclusion of diversities and disabilities with the Social Net led by the association A Mani Libere. Our international activities aim to increase the international environment in our community: - EVS sending, coordinating and receiving; - Erasmus+ Youth exchanges; - Promotion of the possibilities offered by the European Union in schools; - Organization of Training school trips abroad with the Technical high school Oriani.

Please briefly present the organisation.

Brisa Intercultural is an intercultural organisation based in Burgos, Spain. We work for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe. As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation, Brisa is open to every person who wants to volunteer, to organise activities or projects both for our community and for international and to participate in intercultural projects.

What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this application?

Brisa Intercultural organises different events in order to gather young people who can interact through discussion of social issues. Brisa is already applying to the quality label for being a hosting organization for volunteers as well as two youth exchanges. Our volunteers are writing two European Solidarity Corps projects and they are attending many workshops and projects around Europe with different topics of interest for young Europeans, such as workshops on European citizenship, project management, sustainability, equality, NGOs and others. We work with Non-Formal Education methods; team work, motivation and respect are our philosophy. Understanding and exploring the multicultural dimension of the European continent, removing national borders, fighting for tolerance and creating open minded citizens are our main goals.

Please give information on the key staff/persons involved in this application and on the competences and previous experience that they will bring to the project.

Thanks to the activities, projects, congresses and others developed both by its members and other organizations, the people involved in Brisa have teamwork skills, and they know how to work in international environments with multidisciplinary people. We have experience in organising events, activities and workshops. On the staff at BRISA two people are in charge of the proper functioning of the entity. With their experience in Erasmus+ projects (both organizers and participating in interships, European voluntary service, or seminars, exchanges and tranings) they develop their own local and international projects and help and motivate other young people to get involved and participate in projects or create their own ones.

Mission: To build peaceful relationships among people of all ages and cultures - from personal to global - through education, research and action Objectives: - Provide a strong platform, based on research and sound infrastructure, for educational, community and international activities. - Liaise and partner up with others working for peace. - Provide practical tools for peaceful living, including skills and methods for conflict resolution and violence prevention. Masterpeace Ro Association is an association which was founded in January 2016, but its work began in early August 2015, as the four founding members established MasterPeace Romania Club as part of MasterPeace International, an organization that advocates peace through artistic means, workshops etc, being present in more than 50 countries, winner of the Luxembourg peace Prize for "Outstanding peace organization". Working with young people enables us to influence their ideas, beliefs and attitudes, which is essential to achieve the right to be heard, the right to an identity and challenge the causes of poverty and discrimination and to bring about lasting changes, promote volunteerism and create active citizens of the future. We started in August 2015 with a series of four workshops on what the term peace means and how to reach this goal, not only externally, but also inside, because if we don’t believe in the importance of peace, then we cannot make the people around us believe in it, too. The project’s objectives were sharing strategies, tools and innovations in the field of social responsibility, reconciliation and solving the problem by promoting peace and human rights. The four workshops were attended by 80 participants.

What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this application?

On November 7, 2015 MasterPeace Romania Club received from the Youth Forum of Romania the Structured Dialogue Romania prize of 2015 as a symbol of the association’s members' participation in the development of policies proposed by the Youth Forum on the agenda of the Romanian Ministry of Youth and Sports. MasterPeace Ro Association was present through two volunteers at the International Festival of Peace in Fez, Morocco, which took place between 8 and 17 April 2016 and it was held with the help of the Ministry of Youth from Morocco. The festival was part of the association's agenda to raise public awareness about peace, enabling people to make peaceful and healthy decisions for themselves, their families, nations and continent. MasterPeace Ro Association took part in the International Youth Day in 2017. The activities that took place gathered more then 250 direct participants from Ploiești, Câmpina, Brașov and Bucharest. We implemented the activities in our partner schools and cultural institution. MasterPeaceRo , in collaboration with  HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light)  and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) , organised the 2019 Peace Education Conference, which was held in Bucharest on the 04.02.2019. The event gathered more than 500 youth and guests that rejoiced the company of several speakers, including a memorable speech from Chairman Man Hee Lee himself, in which he spoke about the power of youth, the importance of peacekeeping and also of spreading the Peace Education throughout the world. In May of 2019 we also held another Peace Walk, which generated an even stronger response from the local community, several civilian groups expressing their desire to be a part of this activity through sports, like cycling.

Background and Experience

Please briefly present the organisation.

Our story tracks back in 2015, with the launching of the ‘Refugee Crisis’ in Greece. Our active participation in the solidarity movements which arouse in Greece, not only gave us useful experiences, but also created the sparkle inside us, to fight for a different society, which promotes the values of volunteering, solidarity and the principles of communality instead of the unfortunate individualism approach which exists in our societies. Through our active involvement in series of national and international projects, coming in contact with Youth Work, informal and non formal education methods, while earning key positions in other youth organizations, we realized that the most efficient and productive way to realize our vision, is to create a Youth Organization, which will generate a positive change to the Youth, the Citizens of tomorrow. Due to these facts, three motivated individuals combined their forces and with the assistance of 20 other active youngsters and created Youth Empowerment Center. What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this application?

Since 2015, as individuals we have participated in series of projects in local and international context, empowering ourselves with skills and competencies not only to learn but also to facilitate others learning based on formal and non formal education methods. The main goal of our activities is to create space and opportunities for every young person to express and develop themselves according to their needs, with respect on diversity of others and the 17 Goals of Sustainable Development of the United Nations. We are working mainly with youngsters from 17 till 25 years old, residing in our local community in Thessaloniki, Greece. Most of these youngsters are members of low income and social excluded families.  In more details, twice per month we are visiting Educational Institutes of our community, in order to spread the benefits of the Erasmus+ program, while implementing workshops as part of the dissemination activities from previous projects that we have recently participated. More than that, we are having a core of youngsters that we are working with. Once per week, through non formal learning methodologies, role playing games and experiential learning activities, we are trying to empower them with useful skills and competencies which will boost their self esteem, their future employability chances and most importantly the sense of communality that is really important for us.  Additionally, during summer time we are initiating garbage gathering campaigns in the coastal district of our community. During these campaigns, with the assistance of our youngsters, we are gathering garbage material that individuals threw in our coast, while informing the broader public for the dangers of this habit to our natural habitat and the benefits of recycling.

Why this project. We want to carry out this project to help youth associations who want to work with ESC volunteering to get their Quality label and move the first steps in this field. This action will increase the youth mobility, fostering European values and awareness of the opportunities offered by the European Union, where differences can become a value instead of an obstacle and different people can be united by common values of tolerance and peace. Objectives. The goal of this project is to have, in 2021, more European organizations working with ESC volunteering, proposing quality projects thanks to shared knowledge and new synergies and partnerships. More specifically, the objectives of the training activity are: - to help the participants to understand how to get a quality label to host/support ESC volunteers for their organizations; - to build a net of reliable potential ESC partners; - to share knowledge about practical arrangements and budget; - to discuss potential problems that might occour during ESC projects and propose solutions; - to share management/digital tools. Erasmus+ KA1 objectives. An example of Objectives for volunteers in SE.M.I.'s ESC project: a) Languages, improved knowledge of English and national languages; b) Awareness of other cultures; c) Building an international network of contacts in order to widen the comfort zone of the volunteers and youngsters and make it easier for them to travel and live or work in other countries; d) Increased creativity skills (if not artistic, problem solving skills, thinking out of the box) and habit to intercultural dialogue and critical thinking; e) Sense of initiative and empowerment will be developed by implementing volunteers’ own project and activities according to their interests; f) Media literacy, managing a blog and social media pages; g) Acquisition of transversal skills (workshop preparation and management, blogging, facilitating etc.) which will enhance employability and active participation in society after the project ends; h) Motivation in taking part (and organizing) Erasmus+ and international projects and increases knowledge about free Erasmus+ possibilities for youngsters. Issues and needs. Being SE.M.I. an association which started to work with EVS in a town where there were no other EVS accredited associations, being able to count only on official trainings, the Erasmus+ guide and a few personal contacts of the staff

members, we know that organizations willing to start their journey with ESC could use some extra help. Issue: difficulty to understand the burocracy linked to Erasmus+ and ESC. Need: specific guidance to get a PIC, upload on URF the necessary documents etc. Issue: understanding the application form for the ESC quality label (and the linked matters in the implementation of real projects). Need: guidance to fill the application; partners to share experiences with. Issue: management of the first project (partnership; selection process; training cycle etc.) Need: have a clear idea of the requirements, timescales, receive advice on best practices. Issue: foreseeing potential problems in the implementation of the first project. Need: opportunity to count on a net of organizations in Europe, starting their experience with ESC or more experienced ones. Issue: difficulty in finding reliable partners when moving the first step. Need: network of personal contacts and potential partner organizations to count on.

How was the project's partnership built up ?

SE.M.I., the coordinator, spread a call for partners on SALTO YOUTH, Otlas partner finding tools, stating that we were looking for programme countries partner for a training which aim was of "Getting a clear idea of how to apply for a quality label to host and/or support international volunteers in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps." More specifically, the description was as follows: "This is a training course for newcomers in the field of international volunteering, and the aim is for the participants to go back home with a clear idea of how to apply for a quality label to host and/or support international volunteers in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps. This is a call for organizations willing to work with ESC volunteering, and willing to send to the training youth workers with a strong interest and motivation to learn how to apply for the quality label. The training, if approved, will last 5 working days (Monday to Friday) and will be implemented in May 2020, in Faenza (Italy). Of course, this training course will also be a good chance to make contacts among international organizations working with ESC." The description also presented a link to an application form on Google. The questions were as follows: - Email; Organization name, PIC, PIF and Country. - Does your organization hold an EVS accreditation? If so, which one? - Have your organization already worked with EVS/ESC/international volunteering? - How would your organization benefit from this training course? - How would your organization use the knowledge acquired during this training? - How would your organization communicate/disseminate this project? (It will be mandatory to hold a little dissemination workshop/seminar after the training) We have selected the partners according to their answers to our application form, taking into consideration that a good partnership includes associations from different areas of the European Union the partners are from Italy; Greece; Spain; Romania; Hungary; Turkey). All the partners are newcomers in the field on ESC/EVS (not holding a quality label or in the process of getting one), apart from SE.M.I. (Italy) and UNITED SOCIETIES OF BALKANS ASTIKI ETAIREIA (Greece). Once we selected the partners, we sent a common email with the description of the associations and opened a Facebook group considering that, even if the project will not be approved, it is good to have direct contacts of organizations working with ESC, or willing to do so. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2456910894388102/

Preparation

Practical Arrangements

How will the practical and logistic matters of each planned activity be addressed (e.g. travel, accommodation, insurance, safety and protection of participants, visa, social security, mentoring and support, preparatory meetings with partners etc.)? Please also specify how the tasks will be divided among partners.

All the practical arrangements will be taken care of by SEMI staff, making sure that the participants are provided with all the necessary facilities. Travel The sending organizations will support their participants with the logistics, keeping in mind that the coordinating association will send the travel refund after receiving a report of the dissemination activities. The closest airport is Bologna, but also Firenze is comfortable to reach Faenza. Tra train Bologna-Faenza only costs 4,5€, and Firenze-Faenza 11€. SE.M.I. will offer all the needed support by sending a infopack to explain how to better organize the arrival and departure from Faenza. SE.M.I. staff will pick up the participants from Faenza train or bus station and take them to Casa Bersana, the activity location. Visa Tje only group in need of Visa is the Turkish one. SE.M.I. will send an invitation letter, and the sending association will take care of supporting their participants through all the Visa procedure. Accommodation The training will take place in Casa Bersana (www.cpdbersana.it). It is a recently renewd villa, with rooms of 4 or 6 beds, equipped kitchen, activity room and garden. It is located at 5 minutes drive from Faenza city center. It is very quiet and it's ideal to foster concentration. Insurance The participants will be insured with Cattolica assicurazioni, company that already insures the normal activities of SE.M.I. association. They will be insured for injuries and also third parties. Safety and protection Before arrival, the participants will receive a full infopack, including the Italian safety numbers and the contact person of the coordinating association. Faenza is a very safe town, the only safety issues could accour during the travel, or at the airport. For this reason, a person from the coordinating association, and a person for each sending, will be constantly available during travel days. Mentoring and support Every day, the last afternoon session will be dedicated to reflection in 3 small groups of 5-6 participants. The groups will be created the first day and will remain the same until the last day. The mentoring tools will be coaching tools that the participants can then use in their own organizations, to support ESC volunteers. For instance: the map of experience; dixit cards; learning cards etc. Preparatory meetings The sending partners will organize a pre-departure training session with their teams. At project approval, the staff of SE.M.I will contact the partners and will arrange a Skype call to get to know each other. Also, there will be a Facebook group to support the participants and keep in touch. This project foresees 2 trainers (from SE.M.I.) and 1 facilitator (from UNITED SOCIETIES OF BALKANS ASTIKI ETAIREIA), besides the logistic and administrative support (also provided by SE.M.I.).

Project Management

How will you address quality and management issues (e.g. setting up of agreements with partners, learning agreements with participants, etc.)?

Agreements with partners In application phase, we have signed a mandate with every partner, according to which the management of the project, if approved, is responsibility of SE.M.I. association. The number of the participants to send was also agreed upon in advance, as the involvement of a facilitator from Greece. The aim of the project was also clear since the beginning, it was clearly stated in the Otlas partner finding tool and also the online application form was very specific about the needs of the participating organizations. We all agree that this has to be a participative and intense activity, with a practical outcome: getting ESC volunteering quality labels and start working together at volunteering projects. This partner agreements will be renewd during the first day of the activity, in the presentation phase, and during the whole training as the main goal is to build partnerships. Learning agreements with participants In application phase, we brainstormed with the sending organizations and adjusted the activities according to their needs and the needs of their youth workers. Before departure, the participants will read the infopack and after arrival they will discuss their learning goals with the other participants and trainer/facilitators. The first day of the training will be dedicated to team building activities but also to reflection activities on the learning process. The participants will express their fears and expectations, will state what the bring to the project and what they want to take with them to their local community and organization. The methodology will be participative, learner-centred and self-directed, carried out by learners on a voluntary basis and therefore closely linked to youth workers' needs. The participants will be invited to reflect on their learning, to set their own learning frames and realize that every activity can be a chance of learning. This can be also transmitted to the volunteers, once the participants will become mentors or ESC project coordinators.

How do you intend to cooperate and communicate with your project partners and other relevant stakeholders?

Partners. We communicate through the new media: mainly emails and Facebook, but also Whatsapp. Also, the partners will use the facebook group for ESC partners exchange (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2456910894388102/?source_id=1811549559085909). We share a google drive folder with all the information about the project and the partners, including the application. The Google drive folder will be also used to share materials produced during the training. Stakeholders. The partners will disseminate the project with their stakeholders. As per SE.M.I., there are some organizations in FAenza that are interested in participating in the ESC programme, also because this year the national civil service changed, and many orgaizations will need another way to get volunteers. The stakeholders in Faenza will be informed about the project, invited to the Facebook group and also to come and meet the international partners, as well as assist to some specific sessions about how to get a ESC volunteering quality label. To all the interested parties (partners, stakeholders) we will share a successful ESC volunteering quality label application and project.

Preparation of Participants

Which kind of preparation will be offered to participants in Youth Workers mobility (e.g. task-related, intercultural, linguistic, risk-prevention etc.)? Who will provide such preparatory activities?

First of all, even before the submission of the application, the Sendings received copy of the application as we wish to work in the most transparent way. As soon as the participants are selected, they will also receive the application form. Furthermore, the participants will receive a specific info-pack about the project, including: - information about the location, how to reach Faenza train/bus station, the amount of travel reimbursement and instructions on how to collect the necessary documents; - information about the coordinating association, the partners and the purpose of the project; - invitation to participate in the Facebook group; - useful links (for instance the ESC guide); - timetable of activities; - contact numbers of the coordinating organization and security numbers. This infopack will be prepared by the coordinating association (SE.M.I.) and sent to the project partners that will forward it to their participants. The infopack will also clearly state the participant profile and the working language. All the partners will also organize a pre-departure session with their participants, explaining the aims of the project and discussing the espected learning outcomes.

Recognition of Learning Outcomes

The Erasmus+ Programme promotes the use of instruments/certificates like Europass, ECVET and Youthpass to validate the competences acquired by the participants during their experiences abroad. Will your project make use of such European instruments/certificates? If so, please select up to three

Youthpass Certificate

Are you planning to use any national instrument/certificate?

How will you use the European/national instrument(s)/certificate(s) selected, if any? How will you ensure an awareness and reflection of the participants on their learning process and competences developed in the project? Please remember to include the methods that support reflection and documentation of the learning outcomes in the daily timetable of each activity.

The Youthpass will be filled during the last session, but it will be introduced during the first session, in order to reflect on the learning process. During the last session, there will be an activity to fill the youthpass, quite playful, that can be taken as inspiration for activities to implement with ESC volunteers. The reflection during the activity, though, will be mainly guaranteed by daily sessions before dinner, in small groups and always with the same facilitator. Reflection methods: Day 1 - bloob tree Day 2 - map of experience (a tool suggested in a SOHO training course) Day 3 - learning cards (a tool suggested in a SOHO training course) Day 4 - wheel of ESC (a modification of the wheel of life) Day 5 - back to the future (to set future goals) These methods will be used to ignite discussions and reflections on the activity itself, on the projects that the participants are willing to apply for, and implement, in their own organizations, but will be also used to reflect on the very same reflection tools, so the participants can experience all of them and learn how to use them with their future volunteers.

Activity  A1

Why do you want to carry out this activity? What specific issues and needs does it addresses?

We want to carry out this activity to help the participants to get a quality label to host/support ESC volunteers for their organizations; to build a net of reliable potential ESC partners; to share knowledge about practical arrangements and budget; to discuss potential problems that might occour during ESC projects and propose solutions; to share management/digital tools. Being SE.M.I. an association which started to work with EVS in a town where there were no other EVS accredited associations, being able to count only on official trainings, the Erasmus+ guide and a few personal contacts of the staff members, we know that organizations willing to start their journey with ESC could use some extra help. The potential issues that we want to takle are, for newcomers, the difficulty to understand the burocracy linked to Erasmus+ and ESC; understanding the application form for the ESC quality label (and the linked matters in the implementation of real projects); the management of the first project (partnership; selection process; training cycle etc.) and foreseeing potential problems in the implementation of the first project; the difficulty in finding reliable partners when moving the first step. These issues are connected to the need of finding specific guidance to get a PIC, upload on URF the necessary documents etc.; guidance to fill the application; partners to share experiences with; of having a clear idea of the requirements, timescales, receive advice on best practices; the opportunity to count on a net of organizations in Europe, starting their experience with ESC or more experienced ones; for a network of personal contacts and potential partner organizations to count on.

She participated in the Training Course SOHO for EVS mentoring and in TOF (Training of Facilitators). In 2017 and 2018 she was Job-shadowing in Lisbon (with the cooperative Ha Moment and Association Check-IN) in order to learn how to efficiently implement Erasmus+ projects and work as a trainer. In 2018 she participated in the "Let's ESC" training course held by Association Intercambia in Malaga. Since she started to work in the field of European projects in 2016, she got accreditation for 3 organizations to send/host EVS/ESC volunteers in Faenza, wrote 6 successful EVS/ESC applications and coordinated 3 projects. Please describe the profile of the participants that will be involved in the activity and how these participants have been or will be selected.

Profile. The participants (apart 2 trainers and 1 facilitatior) will be youthworkers actively involved in the life of the partner organizations (or close stakeholders), willing to improve theirselves by acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the field of ESC volunteering. They don't have age limit, but need to be able to use English as working language. Possibly, they already have some experience with international youth mobility, or youth mobility in general, or non formal education. They are passionate about giving opportunities to young people, also with fewer opportunities or disabilities. They have an open minded approach and see differences as a value, starting from the group of participants in this projects, but also in their daily work and with international ESC volunteers. Ideally, they have been volunteers themselves, or have experience in managing volunteers, and are aware that volunteers do not substitute paid work. Selection. The selection is up to the partner organizations, that will send to the training their youth workers who can benefit the most from the project, and that will be able to hold a little training session for their colleagues when going back to their local communities. The selection will be condicted in a transparent way, with no discrimination of gender, social class, age, disabilities, ethnicity, religious or political believes. However, SE.M.I. will ask to all the youth workers selected by the sending organizations to fill a online questionnaire to gather information about their motivation, interests, previous experiences, besides allergies, mental health conditions etc.

Please provide information on the involvement of participants from the country of the receiving organisation even if no funding is requested for them.

SE.M.I. is at the moment the only ESC supporting association in Faenza and has stakeholders that depend on SE.M.I. to implement ESC projects. With this training, we aim at involving participants from our stakeholders, in order to spread the knowledge of ESC projects in other associations in Faenza. Also, because national civil service change into universal civil service, and small organizations cannot get volunteers in this way anymore, quite a few associations are interested in getting involved with the European Solidarity Corps and might be interested in sending a participant to this training. In particular, we will count on the associations PiGreco and A Mani Libere to send us 2 motivated participants, among which we will surely have Rolando Leotta, a youth leader already involved in the international activities of PiGreco.

Which learning outcomes or competences (i.e. knowledge, skills and attitudes/behaviours) are to be acquired/improved by participants in the activity? Please particularly describe the skills and competence applicable to youth work practice.

With this activity, we aim at providing youth workers with the skills and knowledge to apply for ESC volunteering quality label for hosting/supporting volunteers and to move the first steps to write a project. Also, it will be very important for this activity the chance to meet international colleagues, start building a network of contacts in the field of ESC volunteering. More specifically, this is what the partners stated they need their participants to come back with: 1. SE.M.I. (Italy) The participants will acquire the necessary knowledge to understand the paperwork behind a ESC volunteering quality label and project, with the aim of apply for quality label for a stakeholder organization, and/or hosting projects. 2. Hidak Ifjúsági Alapítvány (Hungary) A training course with a lot of new information, knowledge, attitude and networking opportunity would be a great start for them to apply for the ESC quality label and provide more international mobility opportunities for Hungarian youth. After getting more familiar with ESC, they are going to apply for the quality label and start volunteer sending activities as soon as possible. They are very motivated to build strong bases for high quality volunteer sending activities including clear and transparent policies, detailed preparation and education and 360 degree evaluation. 3. Bilgi ve Beceri Dernegi (Turkey) Need to learn how to start to host and send volunteers, but in Turkey there is no chance to participate in trainings like this one, because the NA does not organize them. The association would also like to be considered as a reliable partner in Turkey. 4. Brisa Intercultural (Spain) They are requesting the Quality label to host volunteers and they would like to learn how to manage the paperwork both for their own organization and to help their stakeholders to host their own volunteers. This training course can be very enriching and productive to increase the number of volunteers in our community. Participating in this project, they will learn how to improve their procedures for the application, that today are the main problem of the organization. 5. UNITED SOCIETIES OF BALKANS ASTIKI ETAIREIA (Greece) Being a very experienced organization, they will share their experience thanks to the experienced staff member and motivated people that they will send, which will also be a great opportunity for them to add to their portfolio and get more experience benefiting from SE.M.I. experiences. Since they host many volunteers, and coordinate about 35, they run a lot of projects through Solidarity Corps, they would exchange ideas and tools to run projects by using their experience. 6. Asociatia MasterPeace Ro (Romania) They are willing to get a ESC quality label for hosting international volunteers, in order to increase the international capacity of the association, and to contribute to the international development of their local community. Their participants need to acquire skills to handle the paperwork in order to start moving the first steps. 7. Youth Empowerment Center (Greece) They are considering to get involved in the field of ESC volunteering, in order to send volunteers abroad, but also coordinate volunteering projects, which will create a positive impact in their community. They would like to empower themselves as youth workers, with skills and competences which will assist them on applying for a quality label. Also, they would further develop the network of organizations they are cooperating with, aiming at creating new projects and initiatives in the field of international mobility and youth work.

Follow Up

Please describe how you plan to follow-up on your project

Impact

What is the expected impact on the participants, participating organisation(s) and other target groups?

Through this activity, the participants will acquire knowledge about the European Solidarity Corps and will help their organizations to get a quality label to participate in the program. Therefore, the impact will be strong because thanks to the training new doors will open for the participating organizations and youth workers, but also to young people who will apply to volunteer with the partner organizations. - Participants: improved competences linked to youth work and project management; increased support for and promotion of mobility activities; increased opportunities for professional and career development; increased motivation and satisfaction in their daily work; equipping youth workers with competences and methods for their professional development, including for digital youth work (digital project management tools e.g. google drives, sharing folders and calendars etc.). - Organizations: increased capacity to operate at EU/international level; improved management skills and internationalisation strategies; reinforced cooperation with partners from other countries. - Target groups - Youth (volunteers of future projects implemented by the organizations of the participants): enhanced employability and improved career prospects; increased self-empowerment and self-esteem; improved foreign language competences; enhanced intercultural awareness; more active participation in society; better awareness of the European project and the EU values.

Please precise the impact of the Youth Workers activity on the participants' daily work with young people.

Ideally, the participants are already working in the international department of their associations, so they will go back to their daily work with the knowledge and the international contacts to start a new international area related to the European Solidarity Corps. The participants, ideally, are passionate about giving opportunities to young people, also with fewer opportunities or disabilities. They have an open minded approach and see differences as a value, starting from the group of participants in this projects, but also in their daily work and with international ESC volunteers. Ideally, they have been volunteers themselves, or have experience in managing volunteers, and are aware that volunteers do not substitute paid work. Hopefully, in one year they will be able to host and/or send the first ESC volunteers already holding knowledge on how to tackle issues related to international volunteering projects, already having a network of reliable partners, already knowing reflection and learning to learn tools.

Page 116: Associazione SE.M.I. – Seeds for More Interculture APS€¦ · Created Date: 2/17/2020 11:34:50 AM

What is the desired impact of the project at the local, regional, national, European and/or international levels?

Local/regional/national - the local communities of the partners organizations will benefit from the quality label as the youngsters in the area will have more chances of entering international projects, and international volunteers will bring energies and awareness of European opportunities. As it is not always possible to find volunteers in the local area, youngsters from the partners countries will have more opportunities of entering international projects, the national agencies of the partner countries will have one more association to choose for ESC projects, more quality volunteering projects. Thanks to this project, our local community will feel closer to Europe and the other European countries, realizing that we share common values of tolerance and peace. On a regional level the project will be promoted through the media and new media in order to let people know that Europe is present in this region. At a regional level, thanks to this project, we will be in contact with other associations on the territory, that are already partners of SE.M.I. on local projects and did show interest for European projects even though they didn't have the chance to implement them yet. On a national level this project will have an impact as it will be shared on the internet to show all its phases including preparation and implementation. This way other Italian NGOs will be able to benefit from the know-how of this project (including the application). European/international - participating in the European Solidarity Corps programme will contribute to create a more strong and cohesive European Union, by building a network of organizations and youngsters who will share the same values of peace and tolerance. The impact of the project will be provided mostly by sharing it before, during and after the activity. This way the project and in general Erasmus+ projects will get visibility. Also, all the material will be shared on the Internet as examples of good practices. This project, through sharing in the media and new media, will have an inspiring effect on other organisations (to implement other projects) and people (to participate in international projects) on a local, national and international level. It will also improve cooperation between organisations and between the participants who will act as multipliers in their local communities.

Which activities will you carry out in order to share the results of your project outside your organisation and partners? What will be the target groups of your dissemination activities?

All the partners will hold a little dissemination training/seminar in their local community, to share the acquired knowledge and offer to other youth workers the chance to work with ESC volunteering. Tthe partners will contribute to the dissemination of the project resulta as follows. 1. SE.M.I. (Italy) Besides our blog and social media pages, we will spread a press release and expect to have published articles on 2 newspapers and 1 online portal. The target group is composed by the youngsters who follow us online, and the general public of the local community who follow the local newspapers. 2. Hidak Ifjúsági Alapítvány (Hungary) We are able to organise a dissemination event/workshop after the training in Budapest, where a lot of interested youngsters live and/or study. One of our team member is a PhD student at one of the biggest Hungarian university so this will be the venue, and target group is composed by university students. 3. Bilgi ve Beceri Dernegi (Turkey) We have social media accounts on twitter, facebook, instagram, linkedin and youtube, and good traffic on our website. We will also create a video about this project and share it. After the TC, we will do 2 activities: 1 is applying to get ESC quality label and also apply a project; 2 is an "After Project Meeting"with the participants. 4. Brisa Intercultural (Spain) In our association, dissemination is mandatory for people who have participated in projects. We usually contact the radio and other local media to tell people in our community what we have learned in the project. Then we make a workshop for the volunteers of the association, or open to all people who might be interested. For Brisa, requesting our own quality label is the main objective to achieve once the project is finished. 5. UNITED SOCIETIES OF BALKANS ASTIKI ETAIREIA (Greece) We will disseminate the project through our social media, publishing articles on our website "Balkan Hotspot". Also, participants will share their experience with different types of meeting that we are having regularly in USB. 6. Asociatia MasterPeace Ro (Romania) We will disseminate via the new media among the 50 clubs MasterPeace in the world with a target of 30.000 volunteers. 7. Youth Empowerment Center (Greece) After the finalization of the project, we will share the gained knowledge of the project through the conduction of workshops with the assistance of ESN (Erasmus Student Network), department in Athens. More than that, we will share the learning outcomes of the project through social media. Firstly, through our group's Facebook, Instagram and Blog. As well as on our own personal social media profiles. It is also very likely, to share the newly gained knowledge in the TEDx University of Macedonia, since one of our group members is working as speaker's coach there. Moreover, we will record workshops and spare time of the project with the aim to create a short video that will present what we did, shared and learned.

Please describe how the participants will be involved in the dissemination activities.

Evaluation

Which activities will you carry out in order to assess whether, and to what extent, your project has reached its objectives and results?

Given the objectives of the project, we will assess the project using mainly indicators relating to the quality of the experience of the participants and their learning outcomes. At project approval we will prepare the tools of assessment (besides the conversations with the reflection groups). During the first day of the activity the participants will be asked to express their expectations on the activity and the project will include reflection sessions and participants will be encouraged to evaluate the activities day by day, this way the activities can be adjusted according to the participant’s needs. In the reflection sessions the participants will be divided into groups and will give their feedback on the activities. In order to assess the project, the participants will be asked to answer, at the end of the activity, a set of relevant questions (via a google form). The results of this evaluation report will be used by the organisation to improve the future projects. Another way of assessing the project will use quantitative indicators, for example the hits on the international pages of the website with the updates of the project’s activity; the collaboration with our stakeholders; number of young people involved in the dissemination of Erasmus+ project activities etc.

Project Summary

Summary

What do you want to achieve by implementing the project? What are the objectives of your project?

We want to carry out this project to help youth associations who want to work with ESC volunteering to get their Quality label and move the first steps in this field. The goal of this project is to have, in 2021, more European organizations working with ESC volunteering, proposing quality projects. More specifically, the objectives of the training activity are: - to help the participants to get a quality label to host/support ESC volunteers for their organizations; - to build a net of reliable potential ESC partners; - to share knowledge about practical arrangements and budget; - to discuss potential problems that might occour during ESC projects and propose solutions; - to share management/digital tools. - Youth (volunteers of future projects implemented by the organizations of the participants): enhanced employability and improved career prospects; increased self-empowerment and self-esteem; improved foreign language competences; enhanced intercultural awareness; more active participation in society; better awareness of the European project and the EU values.

What activities do you plan to implement? What is the number and profile of the participants involved?

This project foresees 1 activity, a 5 days (+2 travel days) training course to be held in Faenza (Italy). We will involve 20 youth workers actively involved in the life of the partner organizations (or close stakeholders), willing to improve theirselves by acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the field of ESC volunteering. They will be mainly newcomers in the field of ESC volunteering, but also 2 facilitators from the hosting association and 2 experienced youth workers from Greece.

What results and impact do you expect your project to have?

Through this activity, the participants will acquire knowledge about the European Solidarity Corps and will help their organizations to get a quality label to participate in the program. Therefore, the impact will be strong because thanks to the training new doors will open for the participating organizations and youth workers, but also to young people who will apply to volunteer with the partner organizations. Ideally, the participants are already working in the international department of their associations, so they will go back to their daily work with the knowledge and the international contacts to start a new international area related to the European Solidarity Corps. Hopefully, in one year they will be able to host and/or send the first ESC volunteers.
