CHEF: Executive Chef Alessio Selleri was born and raised in the town of Campi Salentina in Southeastern Italy, and his love of cooking started at an early age, working alongside both his grandmother and mother in the kitchen. Since that time, Chef Alessio has honed his skills in Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Europe and the U.S. At Sale e Pepe, Chef Alessio and his team work to create a dining experience that embraces the culinary traditions of Southern Italy in a unique and progressive style, from preparation to presentation.

WINE LIST: Sale e Pepe’s award-winning wine collection features over 400 selections from all the major wine-producing regions of the world with an emphasis on Italy, California and France as well as emerging countries like Argentina and Chile. In recognition of its quality wine list, Sale e Pepe has been awarded Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence” for eleven consecutive years.

DÉCOR: The intimate dining room features hand-painted frescos, intricate tile mosaics and Roman arches framing private dining nooks while the outdoor Terrace offers stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico and its famed sunsets. A notable interior feature is a 12-foot high hand-painted replica of a 416-year old masterpiece by Jacopo Zucchi, artist in residence to the Medici court, chief assistant for Vatican decorations and honored with preparing the funeral decorations for Michelangelo. Zucchi’s original fresco, located in the Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome, inspired contemporary artist Rossen Tonkov, commissioned by Sale e Pepe’s owners, because of its large scale and grandeur as well as its powerful symbolic imagery depicting the constant balance of church and state power, an eternal Italian theme.

HOURS: Open seven nights a week for dinner (seasonally). Sunday through Thursday from 5–9 pm, Friday and Saturday from 5–10 pm.
