ATHE Level 7 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Strategic Management (QCF)

Duration: Flexible (by blended or distance learning) OVERVIEW The ATHE Level 7 in Strategic Management is a nationally recognised qualification, which can be studied as an Award, Certificate, or Diploma. The titles for the Award and Certificate vary depending on the content. The programme is at the same level of difficulty as a Masters Degree. Assessment is by vocationally relevant assignments, using a range of assessment methods, including written reports, prepared presentations and other documents. Students who successfully complete the Award or Certificate can progress onto the Diploma. Alternatively, learners completing the Diploma in Strategic Management can progress to a top-up Masters Degree at one of the universities or colleges ATHE has articulation agreements with (see: http://atheuk.com/progression-routes/). Alternatively, Students could gain partial exemptions or progress onto a top-up Masters Degree at other universities with which ATHE does not have articulation agreements. However, Students should make their own enquiries about the entry requirements and exemptions for their desired progression route and the college or university they intend to study at before applying for this programme (ETC accepts no responsibility for this, since colleges and universities have different entry requirements and exemption criteria). Students can complete the programme at their own pace and have a choice of studying it via blended learning or distance learning. ATHE is a nationally recognised awarding body, which is regulated by Ofqual.

STUDY SUPPORT

LEARNING MATERIALS You will be supplied with electronic learning materials to download, a reading list and assignment briefs with guidance for each assignment task. (This is included in the programme fee. You will, however, be expected to purchase your own textbooks) TUTORS You will be allocated a tutor with whom you can arrange face-to-face meetings at the College’s premises or you can communicate with them via telephone, Skype, Tango or WebEx. (Each unit includes 2 hours one-to-one consultation with the tutor, after which there will be a charge of £25 per hour.)

EXPECTED COMPLETION TIMES

Although you can study the programmes at your own pace, the awarding body expects you to undertake a minimum duration of study per unit in order to complete it effectively. This is 10 hours of study per credit. Therefore the approximate minimum completion times for each programme (assuming study time of 40 hours a week) is as follows: LEVEL 7 AWARD IN SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS STRATEGY (1 unit): 3 weeks LEVEL 7 CERTIFICATE IN FINANCE FOR STRATEGIC MANAGERS (1 unit): 4 weeks LEVEL 7 CERTIFICATE IN RESEARCH FOR SENIOR MANAGERS (1 unit): 4 weeks LEVEL 7 CERTIFICATE IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT (2 units): 8 weeks LEVEL 7 DIPLOMA IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT (8 units): 30 weeks Please note that these are recommended guide times only. Some students may be able to complete the programme in a shorter period of time, while others could require more time.
