EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITYIntroduction
The colors shown on this page and throughout this manual have not been evaluated by Pantone, Inc. for accuracy and may not match the PANTONE Color Standards.
Athletic Logo Design StandardsEastern Connecticut State University is one offour universities within the Connecticut StateUniversity System (CSUS). The University’sathletic teams have been known as the“Warriors” for many decades. In 1998, theConnecticut State University System Board ofTrustees designated Eastern as Connecticut’spublic liberal arts university. To better alignthe Department of Athletics’ identity with theUniversity’s liberal arts mission, while continu-ing to project the spirit and strength ofEastern’s “Warriors,” a new athletic logowas commissioned and implemented onMay 1, 2009.
This Athletic Graphic Standards Manualprovides guidelines and instructions on theconsistent use of the new athletic logo. (A simi-lar Graphic Standards Manual is available tohelp coordinate use of the University’s officialgraphic identifiers — the logo, crest and seal.)
This comprehensive graphic standards systemprovides the structure for communicating visu-al and other information about the University’sathletic teams clearly and with distinction. Inaddition to general guidelines regarding theappropriate use of the athletic logo, this manu-al also details the appropriate use of colors andspecific graphic applications such as uniforms,on-campus signage, merchandising, letterhead, and other uses. Adherence to these standardswill strengthen public awareness of theUniversity’s athletic brand, while also generat-ing important school spirit. Every attemptshould be made to use the logo in its approvedvariations.
All Eastern’s graphic identity standards andrelated (downloadable) electronic files are avail-able at www.easternct.edu/universityrelations.
