WHAT IS THE ATLASPROFILAX® METHOD?

The AtlasPROfilax® method is a technique that allows the

architectural reconfiguration of the musculoskeletal system at

ligamentous and osteomuscular level, in particular the

neurovascular structures linked to the craniospinal junction

(brain stem, medulla oblongata and dura matter) activating

thus a self-healing process.

René-Claudius Schümperli was born in Zurich, Switzerland, in

1940. After many years of study he made the discovery that in

the vast majority of human beings the first cervical vertebra,

atlas, has a greater or lesser degree of malrotation in

relationship to its natural joint. As a result of this, a condylar

compression syndrome arises.

This syndrome alters morphological structures within

the skull. If the compression alters the jugular

foramina where the cranial nerves IX, X and XI are

travel, abnormalities of speech and swallowing can

occur, as well as orthostatic hypotension, stiff neck,

recurrent muscle spasms in the neck and atrophy or

motor problems at tongue level. If the compression

occurs at the foramen of the skull (foramen magnum) the pressure on the vertebral and spinal

arteries increases resulting in dizziness, vertigo, vertebrobasilar migraine, insomnia and attention

deficit.

CAUSES OF MALROTATED ATLAS

The malrotation of the atlas and the condylar compression syndrome may have different etiologies.

Among them:

A presumable genetic component in embryonic development from a probable alteration of

homeotic genes.

Obstetric trauma during the phase of labor.

Inflammation of the dural membrane resulting from the use of forceps.

Caput succedaneum or serosanguineous extraperiosteal fluid collection in the scalp of

newborn by the use of suction.

Prone position before the fourth month of life.

Contusion of the maxilla or occiput.

Injuries and contusions that cause hydraulic pressure changes within the skull.

Narrowing of the occipital condyles as a result of accidents.

 Whiplash.

 Rheumatoid arthritis.

Transmission membranous tension forces due to lumbosacral or coccygeal impact.

ORIGIN AND APPLICATION OF THE ATLASPROFILAX® METHOD

This discovery was made for the first time in history between 1993 and 1996 resulting in the

AtlasPROfilax® technique that is practiced today all around the world.

The malrotated atlas discovery of R.-C. Schümperli: The rotation of the

atlas causes a narrowing of the opening in the skull (foramen magnum)

and the spinal canal causing entrapment of the bulbo-medullary junction,

causing a permanent interference in the central nervous system.

In turn, because of the malrotated atlas, the vertebral arteries, in normal

conditions make a loop of 90 degrees to enter through the hole in the

skull, are compressed and partly forced to change their angle of entry,

which is why this situation evokes fluctuations in the levels of oxygenated blood to the brain that

manifest in the form of nerve pain, spasms, migraines, headaches, vertigo, sleep disorders and

attention deficit.

In addition, this distorts the proper alignment of all the vertebrae because

the anchor of the head (occipital hinge) with the axis (second vertebra) is

unstructured in its seat. This causes the body to try to compensate this

problem mechanically with the appearance of vertebral misalignments of

the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions, which will transfer to the sacrum,

and therefore, hip, knees, ankles and feet. This mechanical disintegration

caused by the atlas could explain diseases such as idiopathic scoliosis or

herniated discs.

WHAT IS THE ATLASPROFILAX® METHOD?

The AtlasPROfilax® method consists in the successful repositioning

of the atlas vertebra (C1) without rough or aggressive handling or

traction.

This therapy does not pose any health risk because the mechanical

vibration is tailored to each patient depending on their age, height,

weight and health.

The AtlasPROfilax® method is safe and has proven effectiveness in

a variety of ailments. It also has no contraindications or negative

side effects nor does it interact with treatments or medications. The method is not a chiropractic

manipulation or sudden movement of the neck.

The method is performed only once in life in two sessions, the relocation of the atlas and a

subsequent follow up. The approximate duration of therapy is 30 to 45 minutes including briefing,

anamnesis, kinesiological tests and anthropometric measurements for therapy application and

implementation of it.

SCIENTIFIC STUDIES ON THE VALIDITY OF THE METHOD

The Diagnosticum Radiology Institute is one of the most advanced medical centers in Germany. The

Institute belongs to the German University of Witten-Herdecke (Universität Witten / Herdecke.

Alfred Herrhausen-Straße 50/ 58448 Witten / Germany) led by Dr. Martin Butzlaff and Eckart Hahn.

With over 25 years of history, the MRI has the most sophisticated technologies for the diagnosis and

prevention.

One goal of the Diagnosticum is early diagnosis of

diseases to prevent their occurrence, development

and chronicity. It has a multidisciplinary team of

physicians. The radiologist and neurosurgeon Dr.

med. Seibel led a complete radiological study on the

scope of the malrotation of the atlas and

effectiveness of the AtlasPROfilax® method.

The highlighted research areas of the Diagnosticum Radiology Institute are Radiology Surgery,

Minimally Invasive Therapy, led operations imaging, Radiology Development of tools for Surgical

and Minimally Invasive Therapy, development of Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance

Transactions, RM Machinery Development, Systems Development Operations of the Future,

Telemedicine and Teleteaching.

The study done in the Diagnosticum Institute

proved that there is a malrotation of the atlas of

probable congenital or prenatal origin in terms of

rotation and tilt, as well as the effectiveness of the

AtlasPROfilax® method for the correction of the

atlas.

114 patients were studied for 5 years with 3D CT

(computed tomography) with several scans for

imaging by the latest machines of Phillips and

Siemens. The patients underwent 3D imaging scans before and after the AtlasPROfilax® treatment.

The study was conducted without regard to race, sex or age and lasted for 5 years during which

following procedure was used:

1. Examination of the cervical area of the patient with RX, MRI and 3D CT prior to therapy

AtlasPROfilax®.

2. Valuation of images from various angles and comprehensive analysis of the region C0-C1-

C2.

3. Performing the AtlasPROfilax® therapy.

4. With X-Rays, MRI and 3D CAT scans after the applicaton of the AtlasPROfilax® technique.

5. Comparison of images obtained "pre" and "post" therapy and completion of each case.

Scientific findings showed by the imaging study were as follows:

1. Before the treatment (in the examined cases) a malrotation of the atlas and a tilt of

the head to the side were found in more than 98% (112 patients out of 114).

2. After the treatment the atlas and malrotation and tilting of the head were corrected

effectively.

3. In subsequent reviews the atlas maintained its correct position.

4. These results opened the door to further scientific research on larger scales not only

radiological, but the clinical implications of AtlasPROfilax® therapy in many diseases

as well.

VALIDATION OF THE SCIENTIFIC STUDIES

The Mexican radiologist, Noemi Laguna MD, graduated as

medical doctor and radiologist from the UNAM University in

Mexico, performed a study on over 252 patients from 2013

to 2014. The study evaluated the premises of the

Diagnosticum Institute determining the degree of real

maltroation and tilting of the atlas before and after the

treatment and the effectiveness of the AtlasPROfilax®

method in improving the position of the atlas bone in

relationship to C0 and C2 structures.

Noemí Laguna MD, was working for many years for the

Mexican Government, occupying different high positions in

the Health Department and in various hospitals and

Government Departments. Since 2012 she owns a private

clinic in the Morelos state in Mexico.
