FWP Offers Adult Hunter Ed Field Course in Glasgow Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is offering an adult-only field course for students that have taken the Online Adult Hunter Education course. The field course will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, in Glasgow. The class is open to at least 20 participants. The Online Adult Hunter Education Course allows participants to complete the classroom equivalent of the Montana Hunter Education Course online; however, participants must still attend a practical field course to become certified. Students must be 18 years old or older to take the course. Please note: prospective hunters that were born on or prior to Jan. 1, 1985 are NOT required to complete a hunter education course. Upon successful completion of the online hunter education course, which is confirmed by taking an exam online, students will be issued a Field Day Qualifier Certificate. This Field Day Qualifier Certificate and a picture ID are necessary to obtain entrance into the field day course, which takes place with certified Montana hunter education instructors. After completing and passing the field day portion, students will then receive an official state issued hunter education certificate. The field course will be held at the FWP Glasgow Region 6 Headquarter Quonset building at 54078 US Hwy 2 West in Glasgow; however, the location may change to the Fort Peck Fish Hatchery if necessary. Please refer back to the registration page for any updates. The field course will consist of two hours classroom instruction, a short lunch break, and a hands-on field portion. Students should expect to take a written test on the material. Performance on the test and field portion will influence if participants pass the course or not. Please be prepared, and feel free to stop and pick up a copy of the Montana Hunter Education workbook at any FWP office. To register for the Online Adult Hunter Education field day, go to the FWP website at www.fwp.mt.gov. Look under the “Education” tab, go to the “Hunter Education” heading, and click on the “Hunter education programs” link. On the next screen, click on the “Find a class or field course” and follow the directions from there. Make sure to print out all necessary material, and sign all necessary forms! Free back-packs with all the basic back-to-school supplies stuffed inside are once again available for families in our community that can use a little extra help as the new school year rolls around; first day of school in Glasgow is September 1st. “Supplies have gone up in price so much that some families might need some help,” said the Backpack Fairie (and that’s no fairie tale!) “especially those who have multiple children to tend for.” The Back Pack Fairies report that they have been blessed by a huge outpouring of local support this year. Helping in this endeavor are Glasgow Soroptimists, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus and Bethany Knight with Edward Jones Co. This wonderful support is much appreciated and allows more local children’s needs to be fulfilled. If you have a child within the community who would like to receive a new backpack filled with back-to-school supplies (or fill up your used backpack) here’s what you do: Give BS Central, Home of the Buzz, a call at 228-4558. Include the student’s name, grade (so the school supplies are appropriate for the classroom), gender, and a contact number and we’ll leave a pencil under the pillow, luring in the backpack ferries. The backpacks or supplies can be picked up at Buzz headquarters upon completion of all orders. Backpacks and/or school supplies will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Once again, this is a completely anonymous program designed for our local kids in grades 1-12.

Letter to the BuzzReligious Revival & Covenant Conflict

fact, observation, opinion PREACHER JOHN COLLINS once again delivered emphatically his Bible stories as they relate to daily life! This Gen. George Custer looking Evangelist presents his messages in a Billy Graham style “Throw Down Revival.” Along with his weekly messages, he constantly repeats “It isn’t hard to do the right thing and to tell the truth.” This Preacher does not agree with the “Politically Correct” approach to churches in the U.S. today. He preaches BBG, “Bring Back God” back into Christian Churches. Observing and experiencing his work and word, others comment: “This is a breath of fresh air,” “I really like his message of “Bring back God,” “He’s against the diminished church we now know,” “He displays a genuine strong faith,” and so on and so forth. I listen, look, and report what others comment. But I do agree with what this Evangelist says and what other folks are saying. If further interest tickles your fancy, go online and type in “Love That Cross Ministries” to see who he really is or better yet come on out to St. Marie Base Chapel and listen to him one time. I do not intend to solicit or promote, I just report what I experience, see, and hear. The Preacher says: “Go to your church of choice, but attend and practice your faith, BBG” ...here here! SAINT MARIE COVENANTS gathering of Aug. 15th was informative, but uneventful. Discussion did indeed take place on article X of the protective covenants of St. Marie, but no voting took place....changing the protective covenants and nominating and voting on a new Village Association board. I showed up with Court stamped Judges rulings, signed contracts, Montana Annotated Law documents, and other legal documents to back up my viewpoints and the investor/developers had no LEGAL substantiation to back up their verbal opinions and proposed actions. I pointed out many of the statements made that were inaccurate and not legal. I summarized the actions and LEGAL history of the past 25 years for ALL in attendance to know....the TRUTH on various issues. I’m told that the documents reflect that during the bankruptcy and VPLT (Valley park liquidating trust) and SMDC (St. Marie Development Corp.) days, SURVEYS and DEED TRANSFERS were not followed through on properly and legally. The Developer inventory (unsold condos) resided in SMCA (St. Marie Condo Assoc.) LEGALLY on paper and were never transferred into NVCCA (North Valley County Condo Assoc.) The surveying and deed transfer was not completed. Consequently, the land remained the property of SMCA LEGALLY. SMCA did not want the DIRT then and DO NOT WANT others DIRT NOW. It’s up to the so called investor/developers to carry out the survey and legal actions and documents WITH THEIR MONEY. These costs should not fall on the bill paying SMCA or VILLAGE ASSOCIATION owner members!!! Anyway, this 3rd attempted Village takeover failed again....no votes were taken at this gathering. The whole effort wasn’t carried out to the letter of the law anyway in the opinion of many. These outside investors can do whatever they wish with their own property and money and leave others property and money alone. Any future acts of EXTORTION will not be allowed as was done in past years say many old time residents. Any such actions will be met with the full force of THE LAW. Gettin’ Saucy!These beautiful young ladies took the stage at 9:30 p.m. for the Mr. Relay Pageant. Following the interviewing and generally getting the audience aroused, the real contest began: collecting some extra cash for the Northeast Montana Relay for Life by dashing around the fairgrounds looking for handouts. The real hustler turned out to be “Tiffany” (at right) who pursuaded over $270 from the audience and was crowned Mr. Relay. Tiffany’s twin brother, Logan Gunderson, was mighty proud. “Cassandra” (above right) was runner-up. We’ll probably have to check out the Mr. Geezer Relay in tomorrow’s Buzz.
