The next Board of
Director’s Meeting and
General Membership
meeting will be held on
Monday, September 21. The Board meeting will
begin at 6:00 p.m.,
followed by the General
Membership meeting at 7:00 p.m. Both
meetings will be held at the American Legion
in West Salem. Association members are
welcome and encouraged to attend the General
membership meeting. A meeting agenda will be
emailed to members prior to the meeting date.
The WSHA youth members will participate in
one more parade this season. The Mindoro
Spanferkel parade will take place on Sunday,
September 13. We will line up at the Mindoro
County Park. More details regarding this
parade will be emailed to members soon.

New this year! We are excited to offer our
youth members an opportunity for some pre-
season dryland training this year! Coach Ashley
Johnson will be offering WSHA players Squirt
through Bantam level players this opportunity.
Training will focus on strength, agility, and
hand-eye coordination. The cost is just $10 and
will begin on Wednesday, September 2nd
. This
clinic will be held every Monday and
Wednesday at the Lion’s Shelter in West Salem
from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. This is a great
opportunity for our youth players!

least one ticket to this
event.
The 5th Annual Face Off Party will be held on
Friday, October 16, 2015! The fun begins at
5 p.m. at the La Crosse County Fairgrounds. The
“Pat Watters” band and “The Dweebs” will
take the stage to entertain the crowd to add to the
fun. Plan to come, invite your friends, and have
a time as we celebrate the kick off of
another great hockey season in West Salem and
raise money for our Association.
The purchase of a Face Off ticket not only gives
attendees an opportunity to have a great prime
rib dinner, but also a chance to win the following
great prizes:
Grand Prize - $10,000
One of five $1,000 cash prizes
One of ten $200 cash prizes
Please remember that this is our biggest
fundraiser of the year; therefore, we need all of
you to help make this event a success! Please do
your part and sell your ticket!
If you have not already picked up your tickets or
dropped off those you have sold, stop by CR Glass
in West Salem and see Mark or Bonnie Weilandt.
Remember….members will receive one free ticket
for every ten sold! If you sell the winning $10,000
ticket, you will win $1,000! It is that easy! A

It’s registration time! With
school starting and summer
activities coming to a close,
it’s time to think about Hockey!
Hockey registration will take place on the
following dates:
Saturday, September 12 from 9 a.m. –
12 noon at the West Salem Elementary
School
OR Wednesday, September 16 from
5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Lion’s Shelter
Please visit our website
(www.westsalemhockey.com) and download
your registration forms, fill out, and bring them
with you to registration. This will increase the
efficiency of the registration process.
Remember…every player must
register with USA hockey prior
to registration. You will need
each player’s USA Hockey registration number
prior to registering as a WSHA player. Please
visit their website (www.usahockey.com) and
click on the player registration link. Follow the
steps to register your skater. Write down your
registration number and bring it with you to one
of our registration times (September 12 or 16).
Hockey try-outs will take
place again this year.
After our registration
dates, we will have a
better idea of what levels
will need to participate in
try-outs. Try outs will be
held on October 31, 2015.
Tentative practice dates
prior to tryouts are:
October 22, 24, and 29
More information about try-outs will be
communicated after our registration dates are
complete.

WSHA is in need of referees for home games
this season. Youth ages 12 and older are eligible
to referee. If you know someone who would like
to referee, please contact a member of the
WSHA Board.

Cheese in Onalaska)
will hold its 2nd
Annual Hockey
Appreciation Day on Saturday,
September 19 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The sale
includes:
20% off all hockey equipment
Additional 10% off skates leased that day
(9/19 = 25% off)
20% off skate sharpening cards (reg $40,
9/19 = $32)
20% off all special orders placed on 9/19
C.R. Chill and LAX Freeze tickets and
other giveways
A total of 88 golfers hit
the course to participate
in the 2015 Golf Outing
Fundraiser. A huge
thank you to the Golf
Committee consisting of
Megan Weibel, Sara
Langrehr, Denise Meyer, Kris Nickles, Julie &
Scott Schumacher, and Lia Tauscher for all your
work to make this event a success! You are
awesome!!
We also thank the many golfers and
volunteers who participated in this event.
Together, the participants and volunteers raised
over $7,000 for our Association! We truly
appreciate all your hard work and dedication you
show for our Association!
Lastly, thank you to Matt Cullmann and Fox
Hollow Golf Course staff for all of your help!
Once again, your hospitality was superior and it
made our event very enjoyable.
