With continuous development in the Chineseand Asian industries, new technology and special products within the valve industry have been a focus of many end users. The demanded valves include high pressure nickel-based valve, cryogenic axialflow check valve, DBB plug valve, bellows seal globe valve, knife gate valve, hydrofluoric acid valve and many more. In addition, fugitive emissions, sealing systems, actuators, as well as materials, the reliability and sealing performance of valves, supply chain and procurement will continue to be major topics for end users. New ideas are always welcomed. The Valve World Asia event in 2019 will continue to provide end users, EPC companies and suppliers worldwide with face to face communication opportunities.The conference programme will include paperpresentations in plenary sessions, paral-lel sessions and workshops, which will offer delegates the opportunity to discuss practical aspects of the applications of valves.The committee would like to emphasise its special interest in users’ experiences. Dear valve professionals,When we talk about valve and actuator technology today, we are talking about more strict tech-nical requirements and specifications. In other words, the market is asking for high quality and end-user oriented products, with increasingly advanced design philosophy, innovative materials and technologies.Not only technologic factors have brought major challenges in sales, pricing and service, but also changes and complications within the international market have brought us a series of challenges, such as trade protectionism. Therefore, creating new value should be the top concern of every valve player. Creating new value can be done through respecting intellectual property rights, aiming at the best cost performance and increasing investment in research and development. Valve World Expo & Conference Asia 2019We come back to ShanghaiSince entering the Asian market in 2005, Valve World Asia Expo & Conference (hereinafter, VWAsia E&C) has been enjoying high admiration within not only the Asian market, but also other key global markets. The first VWAsia C&E was held in Shanghai. After that, at the request of most exhibitors, and through the great support we received from local government, we moved the show to Suzhou, a well-known city close to Shanghai. During the past ten years, many companies and brands grew together with us, and transformed from the initial stage to new levels. To adapt to changing demands of exhibitors, we de-cided to move the VWAsia E&C 2019 back to Shanghai, where the valve legend had begun. How to submit an abstract

Please send your abstract to the conference co-ordinator Ms Laura WANG by e-mail at vwasia.conf@kci-world.com. Prospective authors wishing to present a paper should submit an abstract of about 300–400 words before the 1st of February, 2019, and suggest a few topics for the session that it will fit. Mention your name and function, company name and full address details including e-mail address, and the title of the paper. The following selection criteria will apply:• quality of the content• focus on application experience• informative to a wide audience• affiliation with the conference subject balance• technical nature, i.e. non-commercialThe deadline for abstracts is the 1st of February, 2019. Presenters will be notified by the 1st of April, 2019 as to whether or not their proposed presentation has been accepted by the Steering Committee.Consequently they will be invited to submit the complete manuscript, which will be published on the Valve World website. The deadline for manus-cripts will be 15 July 2019. Presenters will receive a reduction of 25% on the conference fee.
