AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES –REGIONAL & NATIONALThe AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that

are not professional handlers. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry on the entry form. Dogs entered in the Amateur-Owner-Handler class will automatically be marked as eligible to compete in the NOHS. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the judge’s book, steward’s book & the catalog. Professional handlers,* household members and current assistants to professional handlers** may not exhibit. Dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for the AKC NOHS throughout the breed level (all classes, Winners, and Best of Breed) competition. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes.

*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years

**A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any time during the cluster/weekend. Current assistants that are eligible to compete in Junior Showmanship (meet age & amateur status requirements) may participate in NOHS. 4-6 MONTH BEGINNER PUPPY COMPETITION (NATIONAL ONLY)

A DNA PROFILE NUMBER IS REQUIRED. One combined class will be offered for dogs that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. There will be a selection of Best of Breed 4 & Under 6 Months puppy, and Best of Opposite Sex. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized.Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. Minors (under 18) with amateur status who reside with professional handlers and current assistants to professional handlers that are eligible to compete in Junior Showmanship (meet age and amateur status requirements) may personally exhibit dogs in the Four-to-Six Month (Beginner Puppy) Competition. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show Competition.

AWARD OF MERIT: At the conclusion of Best of Breed, after picking Best of Breed, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch, the judge, at his discretion, may choose up to 10% of the dogs in competition for Best of Breed for an Award of Merit. Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog, Select Bitch, and Best of Winners are not eligible to receive an Award of Merit because it is assumed the judge finds them worthy of merit by the virtue of their win.

BEST FROM THE BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASSES (National Only): After Best of Breed, Selects and Awards of Merit are chosen, the winners of Bred By Exhibitor Dog and Bred By Exhibitor Bitch com-pete for Best Bred by Exhibitor. If Best of Winners is from the Bred by Exhibitor class, that entry is automatically Best Bred by Exhibitor.

2021 BEST OF BREED BEST BRED BY EXHIBITOR COMPETITION (NATIONAL ONLY):In honor of AKC’ s Year of the Breeder, the GSPCA offers this special competition. To qualify Exhibitors must declare their dog meets the requirement of the Bred-By Exhibitor class (Chapter 3, Section 8 of Rules Applying to Dog Shows) Dogs must be breeder owner handled. Eligible dogs will be identified by an indicator in the steward’s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition by an eligible breeder owner.Best of Breed Bred By Exhibitor will be selected from the dogs that are competing in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes that have indicated eligibility on the entry form by checking the BOB BBE BOX.

Open to all German Shorthaired Pointers with a placement in AKC Licensed, Member Field Trial or have received a J.A.M.

HUNTING DOG CLASS HUNTING BITCH CLASSOpen to all German Shorthaired Pointers who have earned an AKC Junior, Senior

or Master Hunter title under AKC Rules.(NATIONAL ONLY) • DUAL CHAMPION DOG CLASS & DUAL CHAMPION BITCH CLASS

Open to all German Shorthaired Pointers who have earned the Dual Champion Title.The winners of the Veteran, Field Trial, Hunting Retriever and Dual Champion Classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed, provided that they are undefeated in any Regular Class at this show.


NON-REGULAR CLASSES, INVOLVING MULTIPLE ENTRIES (NATIONAL ONLY)Note: Non-regular classes involving multiple entries may be judged before or after Best of Breed. As the judge’s decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class.Stud Dog Class and Brood Bitch Class: Each entry is allowed two get. The merits of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch are not considered in the placement of the entry. It is the quality of the get that forms the basis for the judge’s decision. All get must be examined and gaited. The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch must also be examined to determine if there is a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Rules, AKC policy or the breed standard. The Get MUST be entered in one of the Regular or Non-Regular Classes in order to be eligible to compete in the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch Class. Handlers of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch, and all get being exhibited, must wear armbands. Ch. 11, Sec. 8 of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that “a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.”

At the National Reserve Winners Dog and Reserve Winners Bitch will be awarded a three-point major, provided the criteria set forth in Chapter 16, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows are met.

SWEEPSTAKES (NATIONAL ONLY)

A DNA Profile Number is required for a Sweepstakes entry at this Show.The Sweepstakes is open to all German Shorthaired Pointers who, on the day of the Show, will be 6 months and under 24 months of age. Entries must be made at the same time, on the same entry form as for the Regular Class at this show. All entries MUST ALSO be entered in a Regular Class. Indicate “Sweepstakes” and age division under Additional Class.

AT THE NATIONAL SPECIALTY ONLY, EXCEPT FOR PAL/ILP DOGS WHICH ARE ENTERED IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP ONLY.

NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show.

OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records.

MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year.

NOVICE AND OPEN CLASS DIVIDED: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show.

After the judge has awarded the Best Junior Handler, the second place winner from the class that the Junior was awarded Best Junior Handler is to return to the ring to compete for Reserve Best Junior Handler.NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, 919-233-9767. A DNA Profile Number is required for a Futurity entry at this Show.The GSPCA National Show Futurity will be held each year in conjunction with the GSPCA National Specialty Show. ELIGIBILITY: Puppies whelped between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020 will be eligible for the 2021 Futurity. All breeders and co-breeders of litters nominated for the Show Futurity must be members of the GSPCA at the time of Nomination. (Pending does not constitute membership). All owners and co-owners of individual dogs or bitches that compete in the Show Futurity must be members of the GSPCA BEFORE FEB 29. Second Forfeits will NOT be accepted without a current GSPCA membership number. If the ownership changes prior to the Futurity, the dog will remain eligible provided all new owners/co-owners are members or applies


for membership to the GSPCA. The Futurity Chairman must be notified within 10 days of any changes of ownership.NOMINATION: Bitches must be nominated within 56 days (8 weeks) of whelping, and a fee of $25.00 must accompany the nomination. Any nominations postmarked or finalized online later than 56 days from whelping will be considered late. Litters may be nominated after the 56th day but not later than 112 days (16 weeks), with an additional $50.00 penalty payment ($75.00 total). Litters may be nominated after 112 days (16 weeks), with an additional $200.00 penalty payment ($225.00 total). NATIONAL SHOW MATURITY (Formerly 2020 Futurity) The Show Maturity is a non-regular competition which takes the place of the 2020 Futurity. All rules and regulations are the same as the Show Futurity. Breeders have nominated litters within the guidelines and these litters will compete with other Maturity nominated litters at the National Specialty. PEE WEE SPECIAL ATTRACTION, FRIDAY SEPT. 3, Judge: Mrs. Susan L ClemonsPee Wee Class Entry Form - No Entry Fee• For kids from 5- 9 years of age (with a parent or guardian).• Dog must me at least six (6) months of age to enter.• All dogs must have proper leash and collar.The Special Attraction to follow regular class judging when ring becomes available. An announcement will be made regarding the start time. Entries are in person up to the start of Pee Wee Class judging on Friday September 3, 2021. There is NO entry fee. There is no limit on number of teams. All participants will receive a ribbon and prize.The Pee Wee Special Attraction is a pre-Junior Showmanship Class for children who are at least age 5 and under age 9 years on the date of the show. This is not a competitive class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child. Each child is accompanied into the ring by a responsible adult who stays with the child at all times; only one Pee Wee Handler and one adult will be in the ring at any one time. The adult is to maintain control of the dog outside the ring as well as ensure control inside the ring. A primary goal is safety and a positive experience for the children, so at the judge’s discretion, the adult may be required to attach a second leash to the dog in the ring. The dog handled by the Pee Wee Handler must be at least six (6) months of age, must be an AKC registered German Shorthaired Pointer (including dogs with a PAL/ILP listing). Bitches in season are not allowed to participate (eligible dogs may be substituted). Dogs must have a proper leash and collar. GSPCA will have a show lead and collar available at ring side if needed. An AKC licensed Junior Showmanship judge will be officiating at this event. Before a Pee Wee participant will be allowed to enter the ring, his or her parent or legal guardian must sign a Release of Liability Form. One will be provided at the show.

Top 25 Gala and Auction for Eligible Dogs in 2019 and 2020 Thursday, September 2, 2021

Top 25 Gala & Auction is a celebration of the GSP, which gathers together the top GSPs in thecountry (based on the AKC statistical ranking of the previous year). It is separate from theAKC portion of the show; no points are awarded and no connection exists with AKC as to

event status; however, the show site is still governed by AKC rules. This is an exhibition event only, which is supported by the GSPCA. We will continue to include the Past Winners exhibition segment.

Everyone who attends the GSP Nationals is invited to attend as a spectator & enjoy the festivities. There will be a cocktail hour with a dinner, art auction (New Online Auction) & wine pull with

all profits going to the GSPCA Health Epilepsy Designated Fund. The GSPCA Health and Welfare Epilepsy Fund year goal is $10K.

DUAL CHAMPIONS, VERSATILITY & PARADE OF TITLEHOLDERS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3A non-competitive Parade of Show, Field, Obedience, Tracking and Agility Champions and Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking and Hunting Test Titleholders will be held on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2021. Entry fee is $20.00 per dog entered in the Parade of Titleholders. There are three parade categories: (1) Special Dual Champions, (2) GSPCA Versatility Award Holders and (3) Titleholders. Each participant will receive a rosette with the dog’s name and titles imprinted on it. To enter your dog in the Parade of Titleholders, please email the dog’s registered name with titles, as you would like printed on the ribbon, along with the dog’s call name, owner’s name, breeder, sire and dam, and a short biography (75 words or less) to be printed in the catalog. Names, titles and biography will be printed exactly as submitted. Edits will not be made. Biographies may be read as part of the Parade. If you are eligible for multiple categories, please indicate the Parade category you would like to be included in. Entries in the GSPCA Versatility category will be checked against the official certificate list.Deadline to submit biographies is August 11, 2021. PARADE OF JUNIOR HANDLERS – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3Resembling the Parade of Titleholders, this is a fun, non-competitive event meant to showcase our young GSP enthusiasts from ALL areas of the dog world, not just junior showmanship!

Eligible ages are 8 to 19 years old. Each participant will receive a personalized ROSETTE to commemorate participation. Each participant should submit a short personal paragraph (75 words or less, typed) to be included in the catalog, which may be read as each junior exhibits their dog. Some examples of things to include in the personal paragraph are: funny facts or general information about the dog, the junior, competition achievements, support roles you fill at shows (grooming, assisting, etc.), school, future plans, or anything else you’re proud of. Entry fee is $20.00 per junior.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS – ALL EVENTS

The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List.

• The American Kennel Club will collect: a $3.00 Event Service Fee and $.50 Recording Fee where applicable for the first entry of a dog, plus a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single-entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.50 is required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 is required for each additional entry of the same dog.

• No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Baray Events assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner’s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH ENTRANT.

• RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. BaRay Events will add a $30.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. We will not re-process checks. The exhibitor will be contacted & required to send a money order for the original amount PLUS the $30.00 NSF fee. Subsequent returned checks from same person may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS.

• REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed by the Club to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries.

• Females in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally Trials. If a female is withdrawn from competition because it came into season and the Superintendent is notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial, the Clubs is required to refund the entry fee. The Clubs may retain a processing fee and must publish this information in the premium. Clubs may determine the documentation, if any that is required to confirm the female is in season. This shall be stated in the premium. Note: No fee is paid to the AKC for females in season who are withdrawn.

• FAX ENTRIES – Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per show. • Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify BaRay Events at 360-755-7086 or email [email protected].

• Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. • Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.

• Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

• Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs.• LOSS OR DAMAGE – The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors,

but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor’s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children.

• Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. Additionally, clubs should include any specific local health requirements; for example proof of rabies vaccination.

• PUBLICATION RIGHTS – By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

ATTENTION OWNERS/EXHIBITORS OF FOREIGN REGISTERED DOGSIf you are the owner/exhibitor of a dog registered with a foreign registry (not yet dual registered with AKC) please review the eligibility requirements in The Rules Applying to Dog Shows, chapter 11 section 1. The dog show rules are posted on the AKC Web site at http://images.akc.org/pdf/rulebooks/RREGS3.pdf.

"Dogs found in an unsafe environment, distress or harm’s way (for example: left unattended on a grooming table in a noose not attached to a safety release clip; left in a vehicle without proper ventilation) will be removed to safety. Exposing a dog to an unsafe environment, distress or harm’s way is considered mistreatment.”

No dogs that are disqualified for aggression will be allowed to enter these Shows, nor be allowed to be on the grounds. In addition, no aggression reinstatement procedures will be performed at these Shows.
