welcome to THE CHAMBER

A WORD FROM your chairman

A little over half way through the year, and we have had the honor of welcoming more than 125 new partners and have celebrated nearly 60 ribbon cuttings with an average attendance of 50 people! Our Ambassadors, board members, elected officials, many partners and everyone in the community that comes together to support each others milestones and celebrations is truly what makes these events special.

The involvement of our community is clear and incredible. So far this year, we have had the privilege of hosting over 3,500 of you, our guests, at events like Annual Dinner, the Golf Challenge, Business at its Best professional development seminars, and networking events like Let's Do Lunch. Our Chamber Coffee Hour is a great way to network and get to know fellow partners. With an average of 250-300 in attendance, we look forward to our next Coffee Hour August 24th, at Knicely Conference Center.

We always like to support our local university and welcome back the student population at WKU. Welcome Back WKU encourages students to learn more about the area and it introduces them to the businesses that make up South Central Kentucky. This event also gives Chamber partners an exclusive opportunity to market themselves to the

WKU student body, and is conveniently located right on campus. This outdoor event is on WKU's expansive South Lawn where Chamber partners rent space/tents and set up carnival-style to provide giveaways, samples, entertaining activities and marketing materials to students during their first week back at WKU. If you’d like to be a part of Welcome Back WKU, contact [email protected].

This fall, regional eighth-graders are gearing up for the largest SCK LAUNCH Experience yet! The third annual, interactive career expo is set for November at South Warren Middle and High School. If you’d like to be a part of Experience through sponsorship or volunteer opportunities, contact katiebgchamber.com. To learn more, check out the newly updated site for scklaunch.com.

A WORD FROM our sponsor

MED CENTER HEALTH

Sports Medicine Program Keeping people physically active where they live, work and play is the focus of the Med Center Health Sports Medicine program. When injuries occur, the program has a comprehensive team to help ensure a fast recovery but always emphasizing a safe return to prevent reinjury.

The program is a collaboration between Med Center Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Medical Center Urgentcare and Med Center Health Rehab Services, including Bluegrass Outpatient Center and Med Center Health Orthopedics Plus Physical Therapy. Services such as medical care, sports physicals, athletic training and physical rehabilitation are provided by our team of fellowship trained physicians, physical therapists, certified athletic trainers and certified strength and conditioning specialists.

Med Center Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine doctors are team physicians for WKU Athletics. The doctors cover all home games and travel with the teams to provide healthcare whenever needed by an athlete. Med Center Health physical therapists also assist with rehabilitation of athletes in the training room. Also, as part of our program, athletic trainers provide onsite practice and event coverage for seven regional high schools.

The Sports Medicine Program seeks to provide services to all athletes and schools throughout our region. As part of Southcentral Kentucky’s largest and most advanced healthcare system, the Sports

Fellowship-trained UK HealthCare physicians Abigail DeBusk, D.O., Philip Collis, M.D. and Chaitu Malempati, D.O. practice exclusively at Med Center Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

Medicine Program can provide both competitive and recreational athletes the most comprehensive sports medicine services in the area.

For more information about the Sports Medicine Program, contact Jase Pinerola, Vice President of Rehabilitation Services & Occupational Medicine, at 270-796-6852.
