It is amazing to look back and see how far we have truly come. From those very first days where Tricia and I spoke in hushed tones in our living room so as not to unnecessarily alarm our children, to sharing with our pastor God’s calling on our lives, to attending Readiness Evaluation (aka; missionary boot camp) and I&O, to the dozens of churches we have visited, our terrific experience at Pre-field Training in New York City this past July, right up to the present. All of these events firmly chiseled into space and time by our wonderful Creator God, before the foundations of the world. As you can see from the graph above, we are currently at 54% in our support raising efforts. We are now over the hump looking toward a sendoff sometime in 2009. Please, keep us in your prayers. Where We Stand Itineration and the Providence of God “There is probably no point at which the Christian doctrine of God comes more into conflict with worldviews than in the matter of God’s providence.” James M. Boice The Westminster Shorter Catechism says that God’s works of providence are his most holy, wise, and powerful preserving, and governing all His creatures and their actions (WSC #11). It is obvious that providence includes itinerating missionaries. Understanding this great doctrine should bring the Christian great joy. Why, then, as missionaries do we often wrestle with God’s perfect timing. The reasons are many. First of all, knowing how white is the harvest, that is how ripe and ready it is, increases that zeal for the gospel that motivated us towards foreign missions in the first place. We just cannot wait, it seems, to get to the field. And then, wonder why God doesn’t just wiggle his nose and send us miraculously to the field of our choosing. Second, we see how those of us who have already gone on before us struggle under the weight of the budding harvest. From a human standpoint, there simply is just not enough help on the ground to effectively get the job done. And so we grieve at seeing and not be able to assist our brothers and sisters in this great missionary endeavor. Third, you have committed, by your prayers and your finances, to support us. And we feel the weight of this obligation. Furthermore, just as we do, you see, and feel, and share the burden with those already on the field laboring under so great a harvest. Please pray that the God of the harvest would grant to us our desire to leave soon. In Christ. Where We Stand

Itineration and the Providence of God

“There is probably no point at which the Christian doctrine of God comes more into conflict with worldviews than in the matter of God’s providence.” James M. Boice The Westminster Shorter Catechism says that God’s works of providence are his most holy, wise, and powerful preserving, and governing all His creatures and their actions (WSC #11). Prayer Requests“We are debtors to every man to give him the gospel in the same measure in which we have received it.”

P. F. Bresee

1. Our SupportPlease pray that God would open the door to churches and individuals that will be willing and able to support us in our efforts.

2. Our Children; Hannah, Amber, & JacobThough our children support our decision to go, they are facing many struggles. Hannah, 20, will remain in the states while she completes her undergraduate degree in music education. Pray that God will comfort her in our absence. Pre-field Training in New York City this past July was a true gift of God to Amber who at 17 faces the significant grief of losing dear friends. Pray that God will strengthen her heart in the absence of her friends. Jacob at 14 also will lose dear friends. Pray that God will provide godly friends in his new home.

3. Team Northern MexicoAs the Summer Impact season comes to an end, please pray that God would use the intervening months to allow our team in Northern Mexico to be refreshed. Pray also that the Church Planters would continue to see God’s Spirit move in the hearts of the communities in which they work.

On The Home Front

It's been a busy fall in our home. I've been working a little more recently due to a shortage of nurses at the hospital that I'm employed. As a nurse, I'm so thankful for the opportunity to minister to the many people who are in need of an encouraging word and a gentle, healing touch. I am also thankful for my nurse manager who has been willing to accommodate my schedule as we continue to raise support. This has truly been a very real and tangible blessing!

Hannah is continuing to do well in her 2nd year at Winthrop University. As she studies music, she is more assured now than ever that teaching music is where God is leading her! Please pray for her as she faces the many challenges of being a college student.

Amber is doing great! She was recently selected into the South Carolina All State Chorus! This is a great honor! She is working hard to complete her junior year of high school. We are so thankful for your prayers on her behalf. We see each day that God is working in her heart, preparing her for the time when she will leave her friends, and join us on the mission field.

Jacob is also doing quite well! The best way to describe him is steady. He is doing very well in school, and is working hard along with his sister preparing for the Christmas concert put on by the high school chorus, the Choraliers!

Thank you for your prayers on our behalf. Please continue to pray that we will not allow our focus to be on our current situation of raising support but on Christ. May our relationship with Him grow more and more each day. Pray for the protection of our children as they face the many challenges that all of our youth encounter. We pray they may continue to grow in grace!

Yours in Christ,Tricia

Thank You Friends! To all of you who support us by praying for us, or by partnering with us financially, we thank our God for you and pray that he will continue to supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

In Christ,Michael & Tricia Lee
