If you do not have your own means of transport please enquire about information regarding community transport schemes that may be available in your area when you ring to book your appointment.

In exceptional circumstances hospital transport can be provided to some clinic locations.

Looking after you locally

About the Avocet Clinic

We are a specialised team of physiotherapists and nurses dedicated to providing advice and treatment for your bowel, bladder and pelvic floor issues.

We offer a confidential service in a variety of locations in North Norfolk and Broadland, sited in a number of Community hospitals and Health Centres.

You are welcome to bring your carer, friend or family member with you to your appointment.

Generally you will be seen in our clinic more than once.

About your initial appointment

Enclosed with this leaflet is a letter asking you to contact us to make your first appointment.

Please make sure that you ring to arrange your appointment by the confirmation date on your letter.

We are a busy clinic so prompt arrival for your appointment is greatly appreciated.

Our plan for your first visit

The first visit will last approx 1 hour

We will take a medical history [some of it will be in depth]

Please bring any relevant information of any investigation from the hospital or from your GP practice and a list of your current medication.

Treatment sessions may include bladder scanning, examination, bladder retraining and exercises.

Housebound?

In genuine circumstances we can visit you in your home. However please be aware that the waiting list can be long and we prefer to see you in clinic where we have the correct equipment.
