With the MAWAs 2017 just around the corner we decided it would be the perfect time to look back on our previous winners and what they have been doing since their big win!

The Midlands Asian Wedding Awards (MAWA) is the first awards ceremony of its kind, designed to celebrate the Midlands favourite Asian wedding companies, as voted by customers. The Midlands is home to some of the leading suppliers working within the Asian wedding industry; a market generating over £300m a year in the UK alone.

MAWA will reveal the very best suppliers this buoyant industry has to offer, with categories covering all the key aspects of Asian weddings.

All our Winners and Nominees were chosen for their outstanding performance and contribution to the Asian wedding industry from many unique categories.

We would love to share with you some of our winners’ journeys and progress since the first annual MAWAs last year.

We were thrilled and honoured to be voted the Midlands’ Best Alternative Venue last year. Since then we have continued to forge links in the Asian market with an encouraging take-up of cultural and civil ceremonies, as well as mixed faith weddings.

Our special offer on marquees and ability to cater for over 1,000 guests is certainly generating a lot of interest.

Our participation with MAWA has increased awareness of the facilities we have to offer.

So, it’s been 8 months since we, Mahirs Experience, won the Midlands Best Asian Wedding Caterer Award, and how time has flown, we still cannot thank you all enough for voting us, the best in our industry!

We have been busy building on our success, new faces in our fantastic team, inspiring new décor and event ideas, tantalising new dishes and consistently creating amazing experiences.

The future is exciting and the team is brimming with passion and enthusiasm. We just want to keep improving and making sure each of our events are special in every aspect.

Oh, how life has exceeded expectations since winning ‘Best Wedding Entertainment’ at The Midlands Asian Wedding Awards in 2016.

We reached an all-time high in bookings in December 2016 and we managed to spread our sparkle to 70 events up and down the country in just one month, leaving the R&R magic at each and every event.

As a Company, we are truly grateful to have received this award last year and it has given our team of Professional Dancers a boost that their dedication has paid off.

This recognition has led us to win a further award ‘Best Dance Group’ at an industry Presentation which is truly

putting our company on the map.

These awards give our current and future customers confidence that they are booking a truly Professional act that sets their event apart from the rest. Our schedule is crazy, but we never fail to deliver....in fact we thrive off it! From touring Theatres, Exhibitions, Music Videos, Weddings and Corporate Events there hasn’t been a dull moment since winning the MAWA award.

Looking to the future our main aspirations are to show what a diverse and bespoke company we are and to remain at the top of the list for Entertainment Providers.

Since winning the MAWA’s we've been pretty much flat out DJing at weddings every weekend!

Kikli Roadshow were chosen to entertain guests at a beautiful Destination Wedding in Dubai. The first event- was an amazing Sanji / Pre-Wedding Boat Party on board a 150ft Yacht! An unforgettable night.

The Wedding Reception followed the next day at the exquisite Four Seasons Hotel on Jumeirah Beach in the Great Ball Room. The party went on until 3am with DJ's Raj & Sukh keeping the dancefloor full throughout and guests dancing their way into the early hours of the morning with mix after mix. A truly spectacular Wedding and an absolute pleasure to be a part of.

Kikli won best Midlands DJ at the British Asian Wedding Awards 2017 in London from a shortlist of 30 DJ’s.

Aariya Diamonds have been very busy since winning back in October 2016, winning a further award in London for the best Midlands jewellers and getting to the finals for the English Asian Wedding Awards for small business of the year.

They also have recently been involved in a celebrity photoshoot for Asiana magazine and their own ring line launch in October 2017.

It was a wonderful experience for us to be acknowledged in the Industry and it was a very rewarding moment as it is a very demanding job we do, planning wedding decorations and part taking in the biggest days of people’s lives, sharing their experience.

Since winning the MAWA award for 'Best Event Design Company 2016' we have had a very good year, where in our exhibitions and consultations our clients have recognised us through this achievement.

We are now looking forward to a healthy 2018 and publishing all our new items on our website, Facebook page and Instagram which all will be able to view, as we are really excited about some of our unique ideas. And we hope to impress everyone next year with our stunning handcrafted work we make ourselves, as we always do.

Since our win we have been busy with weddings and expanding the company. We have opened a new office in London and recruited more staff as the brand is becoming a household name now.

The real brand as whole has been getting great recognition with our DJs the kraytwinz winning the best DJ award at this year’s 2017 Batv world music awards and being nominated again at the British Indian awards.

We have worked on some amazing weddings and really excited about sharing the final masterpieces with the world very shortly.

Since winning the ‘Best Provider of Honeymoons and Weddings Abroad 2016’ Honeymoon Dreams has gone from strength to strength.

From winning ‘Best Weddings & Honeymoons Holiday Company’ at the renowned British Travel Awards and the ‘Best Use of Social Media 2017’ in the prestigious Travel Weekly AAAs to the company’s expanded growth in sales, which has raised our awareness of being the UK’s No.1 Honeymoon Specialist. Due to our continuous success, Honeymoon Dreams has purchased a larger office closer to the heart of Birmingham, which will be completely renovated and will include the first ever Honeymoon Suite.

Currently our office is call centre based only, however due to the demand of clients looking to book their honeymoon face-to-face, we will be creating a dedicated space in our new office for a more personalized booking experience, which is a brand new and exciting development for Honeymoon Dreams.

Friday 14th July 2017 saw the launch of this unquestionably successful event- the High Tea brought together some of the hottest names in the industry. The fashion show was executed by the wonderful Sharon’s Couture, showcasing his ready-to-wear collection and 2018 Bridal collection.

The beautiful models were glammed up by the one and only MUA Arman Millind. Both headliners were winners of the Midland Asian Wedding Awards 2016- Best Brides Wear Collection and Best Hair and Make-up Artist respectively.

This event was just one of the ways the talents of our MAWA winners continue to reap the benefits of achieving their prestigious award last November. We have focussed on propelling the winners in the industry as much as possible, whether it is in targeted events or directly to our clients. As the awards become more established, it only brings more recognition to those who get involved and put themselves forward for nomination.
