President’s Message 2013-14 was a year of "MO" that consisted of memories, service, new friends and a stronger belief that what we do as Optimists does make a difference. The year was filled with challenges. At every turn, Optimists embraced these bumps in the road and found a way to make things happen. For many, it wasn't about the awards, but about the children and communities we served. The real reward was that hand shake or hug from those that traveled this journey with us. The look of surprise or accomplishment on the face of that young participant in our Oratorical Contest. Or better yet, the expression on the face of the participant’s parents. That was our just reward. Those of you who have worked hard, and those of you who looked to the future, I would like to say thank you. Your efforts will be your legacy. In the International Presidents office in St. Louis, behind the desk of the President is a bookcase. There you will find bound in hard cover books, copies of every single Optimist Magazine. At this time of year, we always publish the successes of those leaders from the previous year. For many of you, your name and picture will hide there waiting for future curious eyes to once again remind the seeker of MO's of past benefactors. That being said, know this, leadership comes with a never ending responsibility. Tomorrow is filled with encounters, it is filled with new inspiring leadership and you my friend, must pick up the reins and quietly guide, motivate and encourage. Your time is not over - it is truly just beginning. President’s Message

2013-14 was a year of "MO" that consisted of memories, service, new friends and a stronger belief that what we do as Optimists does make a difference.

RON HUXLEY2013-14 OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT
