Awash with ideas

We weren’t going to let a little bit of rain stop us getting

into the Acute Services Building prototype rooms this

week. With our hot pink umbrellas handy, we headed

down to inspect resus, intensive care, newborn care

nursery, birthing and theatre rooms.

Our team has been taking staff feedback so we can make

final adjustments before the equipment is installed in the

new building. More than 60 staff have already contributed,

so thanks to Emergency Dept, Intensive Care, Women’s

Health, Newborn Care, Birthing, Maternity and Theatres

for sharing your feedback.

Front page: Helen and Gracie at the birthing pool.

WONDER WOMAN

Our FF&E Wonder Woman Jenny Saunders was guest

speaker at the Australian Healthcare Week conference

this week. Jenny says the biggest challenge in the future

will be integrating clinical equipment with emerging IT. If

it all gets too much, she can always turn to her growing

collection of stress balls! This week, she picked up an

ambulance, two balls and a couple of he-men at the

conference expo!

What’s planned for health in western Sydney?

Patient-centred care, emerging technologies, new

models of care and opportunities for employment

and education. SEE THE VIDEO

ASSISTED DESIGN Allied Health aides and assistants joined us for their next

activity-based working session this week to discuss how

they work now, and what they need to change or manage

when they move to the B3Hub.

Everything was up for discussion - how they feel about

moving away from having an assigned desk, how paper-

based information can be converted to digital information

so it’s more accessible, and what they can change now,

well before the move. Thanks to everyone who attended,

top row: Katrina, Lyn, Fraulein, Mel and Leanne. Seated:

Nathan, Sultana, Subashini, Maria and Lucy.
