Global Friendship is asking for North-American volunteers, ages 18-25 to teach English and be camp counselors for the next Language Explosion Camp. This is a TEFL project, in a camp setting, geared towards students aged 13-17. TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. As a whole, TEFL projects have a huge impact in the community, not only because of the relationships that are formed between teachers and students, but also by opening a window of outreach opportunities for the church. It is presented in such a way as to engage learners in a conversa-tional curriculum based on the Narnia movies. The only requirement for this teaching ministry is that the volunteers are competent in the English language and have a passion for connecting and teaching teenagers.
Global Friendship is a community organization in Bad Kreuznach
Germany, and is very active in their community. With a heavy emphasis
on prayer and outreach. With their love for the community, members
seek new ways to open their arms to those in the nearby area.
In the summer of 2013, a church that Global Friendship works with,
began a Language Explosion Camp (LEC) to teach young people in the
area English in a fun, interactive way. They fundraised money to hire
German and American teachers to help with activities and classes in
order to have an exciting and interesting experience. This allows the
students to hear the Gospel in a friendly and gentle manner. The first
time the church has attempted such a project, they decided on an
adventurous theme: Narnia! Students participated in activities such as
outdoor games, river rafting, rappelling, and short plays based on their
Narnia theme.
