2014 State Fair of Texas Lamb and Goat Validation If you have an interest in feeding lambs or goats for Dallas, please contact the Extension Office at 796-7755. Tag order deadline is Friday, April 11th. Tags will cost $12/each.

2014 Howard College Lamb Camp Date – June 8-10 Location – Big Spring, TX Topics covered include selection, health, man-agement, feeding, exercising, washing, shear-ing, classifying and showmanship. Cost is $85/person and includes a cap, tee-shirt, meals and awards. The first 200 applicants will be accept-ed.

2014 Poultry Institute for Youth Date – June 15-17, 2014 The purpose of this program is to give high school students with an interest in learning about the poultry industry a chance to gain first-hand knowledge. Participants will have the op-portunity to meet Texas A&M staff and Texas poultry industry leaders. A portion of the insti-tute will also include hands on work with birds and areas of leadership. Returning to State 4-H Roundup this June is the 2nd place Sr. Horse Judging team members of Cheyanne Jenkins, Hannah Buettner, Cheyanne Van Vleet and Sarah Butler. Also participating were Kate Martin and Nikki Sandidge. Hannah Buettner was the 1st place High Individual.

Being on target at the 2nd Annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Junior Shoot Out is Tyler Trenkelbach. Tyler placed 7th Intermediate Individual.

Showcasing his science skills in the AgriScience Fair is Samuel Gostmoski. Samuel placed 2nd and was the Re-serve Champion in the Social Science Division. Samuel was assisted by former 4-H member and now 4-H Adult Volunteer Joseph Burke.

Bandera had six 4-H photography project members who participated in the San Antonio Stock Show Youth Day Photography Contest all garnering top placing ribbons for their photos. 4-H’ers were Keira Oakeson, Hannah Edwards, Sidney Timmons, Nikki Sandidge, Rachel Barker and Levi Van Dyne.
