MENSAHE

Ang tungkuling iniatang sa aking balikat ay isang patunay ng pagtitiwala at

pagmamahal ng aking mga kabarangay. Kaya't pagsisikapan ko na masuklian ito ng

matapat at maayos na paglilingkod.

Salamat, una sa Poong Maykapal sa pagkaloob niya sa aking ng lakas ng loob

na mapagtagumpayan ang lahat ng ito. Pangalawa sa aking pamilya na walang

sawang sumusuporta at nagmamahal sa akin. Sa aking mapagmahal na ina, mga

kapatid, lahat ng aking kapamilya at mga kaibigan. At sa mga kabarangay ko na

nagtiwala sa aking kakayanan, taus-puso po ang aking pasasalamat sa inyo.

MENSAHE

Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa

bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga

datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang

magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan

ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na

makikinabang.

Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang

progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na

Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy

ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

kung saan naninirahan ang mga mamamayang may

paniniwala sa diyos at nagkakaisa.

MISSION

Magkaroon ng maayos na farm to market road, daloy ng

kuryente at spring development na malaking tulong sa pag-

angat sa ikakabuhay ng mga taga barangay.

1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY MANGGALAYAN BUNDOK

Noong unang panahon ang Manggalayan Bundok at Manggalayan Labak ay

iisang barangay. Sa kadahilanang napakalawak ng lupaing nasasakupan at sa

tuwing tumatawag ng pagpupulong ay may mga bahagi dito na hindi kayang abutin

ng tunog ng tambuli, kung kaya minabuti ng mga tagarito na hatiin sa dalawa ang

barangay. Ang mataas at malayong bahagi ay naging Manggalayan Bundok at ang

mababang bahagi na malapit sa kabayanan ay naging Manggalayan Labak.

Ayon pa rin sa matatanda ay tinawag na Manggalayan ang lugar na ito

dahil napakarami ritong natatanim na punong mangga at mga punong saging na

Galayan kung tawagin.

Kabilang sa mga pangunahing nagbugta o nagbukas sa Manggalayan

Bundok ay ang mga sumusunod: sina Jacinto Ricamora, Jose Alano, Domingo

Alvarez, Fortunato Enopia, Mariano Enopia, Tiburcio Par, Esteban Alva, Claro

Marasigan, Erectoy Manalo, Martin Pasamba, Juan Vallesteros, Marcelo Lacerna,

Pablo Alvarez, Juan Anda, Severino Alva, Itsol Evora, Pedro Villareal, Benito Anda,

Peles Espiritu, at Jose Perez, ito ay noong taong 1925-1926.

Ang kauna-unahang Teniento del Baryo ng Manggalayan Bundok ay si

Tiniente Marcelo Lacerna.

2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Manggalayan Bundok is one of the inner barangays of Atimonan, located about

7 kilometers away from town’s poblacion. This barangay is 10 kilometers away from National

Highway bounded on the north by Barangay Manggalayan Labak, on the south by Barangay

Cabuyao Sr, Padre Burgos, Quezon, on the east by Barangay San Jose Balatok and on the west

by Barangay Montes Kallagan.

It has a total land area of 1,177.6757 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office

composed of six sitios- Sitio Mapalos, Sitio Magila-gila, Sitio Matuas, Sitio Mabangin, Sitio

Sabang and Sitio Centro.Topography of the barangay is mostly mountainous.98% of the land is

agricultural. Definitive data were specified below:

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR

RHU Survey of 2014, showed that Brgy. Manggalayan Bundok had a population of 285. There are more than female with distribution revealing 77.90% of the total

population belong to ages 10 – 59 years old; 14.38% under 1 year old to 9 year old

and 7.71% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Brgy. Manggalayan Bundok has more working population than dependent population.

School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 43% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman

3.2. GENERAL ECONOMIC PROFILE

98.02% or 1154.3521 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major

crops are copra, rice and variety of fruits and vegetables. There is no existing irrigation system

that contributed to the limited production of farm products. Some of the populace are leaned to

poultry production for additional source of income.
