Example: “depression”

when an actual mental illness was beingclaimed, utilization of the protocol thatwould be necessary to justify that diagnosiswas absent 91% of the time


CRPS (formerly conceptualized as RSD) claims

There is nothing that reliably distinguishesCRPS from other health concepts.

Scientific studies have repeatedly indicatedthat any diagnosis of CRPS is probablywrong.

Many claims involve the antiquated conceptof RSD, thereby automatically indicating thatthe doctor is practicing in a manner that isantiquated, misleading, and meaningless.

Usually presented as a general medicalclaim, but scientific findings haverepeatedly indicated that it is betterpredicted by psychological issues.

A case of CRPS is probably a case ofmisdiagnosis and, subsequently,mistreatment.


FibromyalgiaThere is nothing that reliably distinguishes

fibromyalgia from other health concepts.

Scientific findings repeatedly indicated thatit is better conceptualized as a manifestationof mental illness, rather than being a generalmedical condition.

Pre-existing psychological disturbance is thenecessary and sufficient predictor of whowill develop a fibromyalgia claim.


Low back pain claims

Typical diagnoses for low back pain do not haveany explanatory value.

Low back pain, failed back syndrome, lumbago

Superficially explanatory diagnoses do not haveany actual predictive value in regard to pain.

Degenerative disc disease, annular tear, discderangement, etc.

Typically presented as a general medical claim,but the only scientifically established risk factorsare of a psychosocial nature.


In summary

For any of these claims, thediagnosis is probably wrong,

and subsequently, and thetreatment-rehabilitation plan

has probably been misdirected.

believing that the complaints are attributable to aserious disease,

attributing the complaints to a general medicalcondition,

avoiding activity,

thinking about their complaints in catastrophicterms,
