Basic Steps to Shoot a Liquid Level.

    1. Start TWM. Select Acquire Mode.

    2. Select the serial number of the pressuretransducer. Use Create Newif your serial

number is not found in the list. Make sure allcoefficients are entered as typed on transducerlabel. Also enter Gun Parametersat bottom.

    3. Start process of zeroing transducer byselecting Obtain Zero Offsetbutton (Alt-3).Once the reading displayed in Present ZeroOffsethas stabilized pressUpdate ZeroOffset with PresentReadingbutton torecord this value.

    4. OpenBase Well File for the well where datais to be acquired. Use Newto create a

Base Well File if one does not exist. Be sureto enter at least pump and formation depths.

    5. From the F4 Select Testscreen pick the

AcousticTab to indicate that acoustic testdata is to be acquired. Connect gun to well.

    6. Prepare toAcquire DataF5 by followingsteps detailed on INSTRUCTIONS panel.

    First: Charge Gas Gun

Second: Close the gas gun bleed valveThird: Open the casing valve between the

gas gun and well.Fourth: Close the casing valve to flowline.

At this point the graph is displayingbackground noise.

7.Acquire shot by pressing FIRE SHOTbutton(Alt-S). The graph will clear as TWMprepares to open the solenoid on the RemoteFire Gun. If using a Compact Gas Gun,

prepare to pull pin when TWM displays themessage Automatic Gun has Been Fired, Ifpresent. along with a BEEP sound.

    8. The message Shot PULSE was Detected fromGun is displayed once the gun is fired. Thenshot data is acquired for a predeterminednumbers of seconds based on the givenformation depth.

NOTE: If shot pulse was not detected after the gun wasfired pressAbort (Stop acquisition of shot data)

button, recharge at a higher pressure, go to step 6.

    9. Once the shot has been acquired a Dialogappears. At this point the data can be savedor discarded so another shot can be taken. Abrief comment can be entered into thedescription field. Otherwise, just Enter (pressOK) to save the data set.

Note once the shot is saved TWM continuesto acquire casing pressure every 15 seconds

for a maximum of 15 minutes or untilmanually stopped.

    10. When the data is saved TWMautomatically goes to the Select Liquid

LevelTab in the Analyze Section. Note, TWM

has calculated and selected a candidate forthe best kick. Use the Leftand Right

buttons to fine tune the selected kick. Thegraph in the lower right shows a close-up ofthe kick.

    11. Now go to the Depth DeterminationTab. Here TWM displays the calculated depthto the previously selected kick. The depth iscalculated using an acoustic velocitydetermined by the automatic spreaderanalysis, shown in the graph on lower left.Note, Filter Type, Analysis Method, and the

section of the shot (gray box) used for thespreader analysis are defaulted.

    12. The Casing Pressure Tab displayspressure data TWM has been acquiring every15 seconds. Press End Buildup button to

stop the acquisition when the data makes afairly straight line.

    13. Finally, go to the BHP Tab. Here TWM displays resultsbased on the determined liquid level, acquired casing pressureand well file data. Please, refer to the Echometer Manual for amore detailed discussion of the analysis and calculated results.
