Discovering beautiful and unusual things is where photographer Stuart Boyd’s inspiration comes from. His passion is photographing landscapes, nature and wildlife, particularly the simplicity of form, pattern and colour within them; he also has a passion for the abstract in nature. His style of photography has been described as ‘casual’, but he prefers ‘eclectic’.

For over 20 years BBC stalwart Nick presented Crimewatch and became hugely knowledgeable on the subject of crime. Hear him talk about his career in journalism and how his sometimes controversial views set conventional thinking on its head and challenged everything we take for granted, showing why he believes the criminal justice system has little effect on crime rates, how policing has been hijacked to serve the needs of lawyers, and how ‘facts’ about crime are continually manipulated to serve the needs of politicians and the media. A fascinating event with one of the best radio and television presenters.

In this illustrated talk weatherman Ian Currie will highlight some of the extreme weather experienced in the South of England over the last 300 years. This includes a blizzard burying trains from London to Devon, a 12-foot snowdrift in Oxford Street and tornadoes in Guildford.
