1.6Integration in SAP
The Cost Estimation transaction is fully integrated with SD \ CS modules of SAP ECC 6.0. The
continuous exchange of information with other application areas in the ECC 6.0 System ensures a real
time database. Fully integrated processing helps us to minimize the use of Non-SAP systems &
optimize maintenance operations within the company. The broad level integration areas with Cost
estimation transaction are mentioned below.
1.6.1 Material management
By Assignment of sales organization / distribution channel to plants customers can be serviced from
desired plants for a particular sales organization, through the distribution channel.
Logistics part of the sales and distribution mainly involves material management. Route and shipping
point are mainly derived based on the parameters of material master.

3.0MASTER DATA
3.1 Introduction
Master data is the set of data which is commonly used across the entire organization and all business
processes. Information about Installation material, steel material, and men hours required in order to
execute the project, does not change frequently & the users do not have to re-enter those information
instead the same data flows from the repository previously created. Hence it is efficient to store the
information in the system and can be called and accessed whenever required.
Installation Master Matrix
Materials Master Matrix
(Electrical, Mechanical and
Steel Materials)Base Man Hours Matrix
Four kinds of material are required for installation of a unit, like Electrical, Mechanical, Steel and Man
efforts.
3.2 Expectations
The purposes of maintainingthe customized table for Installation BOM extractionare as follows:
To fetch the Installation material with quantity
To fetch the Steel material along with size, quantity details
To fetch the planned man hour required and
Automatic upload of the obtained output to respective projects
3.3 Description
Materials Master Matrix:
Various proportions \ combination of Electrical / Mechanical / Steel materials are required for
installation of a unit, based on the installation parameters i.e) Shaft size, No. of stops, Equipment.etc.
The logic for the proportion \ combination and the list of Electrical / Mechanical / Steel materialrequirements for the installation parameters are maintained as master data table maintenance.

Determination of Fixed Quantity: The fixed quantities of materials are maintained in Installation
material master matrix, so they can be picked directly from the matrix.
Determination of Variable Quantity:
Values for materials with variable quantity are determined based on some formulae (Find Annexure
A, B and C). These formulae are maintained for different materials with naming convention V1 to
V25, Va, Vaa, Form 1 Form 2 etc.., where they represents the formula used to derive the quantity of
a material.
These formulae are programmed to run in the background.

Each equipment category has its own combination of materials to be fetched, so considering this
Equipment Category as key field the list of electrical and mechanical materials is pulled from the
matrix.
For the list pulled, on reading the field Quantity Fixed/Variable, quantity is determined either from
matrix directly or on executing the formulae in case of variable quantity.
Base Man Hours Matrix:
Man efforts are calculated in terms of hours, based on number of stops per unit, man hours are pre-
estimated and the same is maintained in Base Man Hours matrix table.
This table contains number of stops, base hours for various activities, and total hours.

4.2 Description
To describe the process in detail, it is classified into two stages mainly
Extraction of Installation BOM Automatic Upload of the output to SAP Project Systems (PS)
Extraction of Installation BOM:It involves following steps
Electrical, Mechanical and Steel materials:
A Lookup matrix is maintained as master data in customized tables, which maintains the electrical
mechanical and steel materials.
Based on the Equipment Category the respective set of electrical and mechanical andsteel materials list is pulled from Installation materials matrix table.
These materials may have fixedor variable quantities, fixed values are directly pulledfrom matrix table where as the variable values are determined upon the execution of
formulae in back-end of the transaction.

Provision for entry of Materials manual for upload to WBS network.Man Hours:
A look - up matrix is maintained in customized table (Man Hours Master Matrix) that maintains the pre
defined man hours required for respective number of stops.
Based on the number of stops, the respective total man hour for each activity type would beupdated from the Man Hours Master data.
Automatic Upload of the Installation BOM to Project:
After creation of Sales Contract, Installation BOM (Bill of Material) can be generated via Easy
Estimator upon feeding the required inputs like contract number, equipment type and
equipment code etc.., and by pulling the data from look up tables/logics/formulae.
Provision for addition of Materials to network from the Easy estimation tool
The same will be updated in pre - defined templates (Annexure C) in background that is to be pushed to
PS module and will be automatically updated to respective project.
