Go for: Compact powder foundation or a lightweight, oil-free liquid one with oil-control and mattifying properties.

Skip: Thick, heavy or creamy foundations – these make your skin look greasy.

TIP: HOW TO FAKE A GLOWTap a cream-based highlighter onto your cheekbones and brow bones. This lights up a dull complexion and takes the focus off dry patches. You can also use a makeup primer like Shiseido Makeup Glow Enhancing Primer ($53), which gives skin a radiant look.

FOR COMBINATION SKIN Dry-combination and oily-combination are the two types of

combination skin. The T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) is oily for both types. But if you have dry-combination skin, your cheeks will be

dry and flaky; if you have oily-combination skin, the rest of the face feels fairly balanced.
