WHAT’S HAPPENING TODAY

Beginning

End

What does that mean?

Sequencing!

Page 6: Beginning, Middle, and end

WHAT IS SEQUENCING?

Getting things in the right order.

Beginning, middle, and end

order of things: the order in which things are

arranged, actions are carried out, or events happen

Page 7: Beginning, Middle, and end

You have to start somewhere……

Why not the beginning?

Once upon a time….

In a galaxy far, far, away….

When I woke up on

Wednesday…..

Here’s the big question: What’s

the first thing that happens?

WHEN YOU WRITE A STORY…

When I woke up on

Wednesday, it was

raining.

Page 8: Beginning, Middle, and end

After the beginning, all

the stuff that happens

next is in the middle.

There is action in the

middle.

Things happen to the

characters.

WHEN YOU WRITE A STORY…

When I woke up on

Wednesday, it was

raining. I thought to

myself “if I were a tree, I

would love this weather.”

And then, like magic, I

was a tree! I was a tree

for a year.

Page 9: Beginning, Middle, and end

The last thing is the

ending.

An ending usually

helps make all the stuff

before it make sense.

An ending also gives

you a conclusion to a

story.

WHEN YOU WRITE A STORY…

When I woke up on Wednesday,

it was raining. I thought to

myself “if I were a tree, I would

love this weather.” And then,

like magic, I was a tree! I was

a tree for a year. At the end of

the year, a kindly old wizard

changed me back into a

human.
