Message from the President

We hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break. March Madness is over, & the countdown to the end of the

school year begins. March was an EXCITING month for the Pleasantdale PTA. We had a very successful

Adult Social/Auction which netted over $41,000 for the PTA to use for the next 2 years. This money will pay

for PTA sponsored school events, enriching our music & theater programs, & building our school libraries.

We cannot begin to thank enough people for their support of the PTA & our school. A WARM thank you to

all of the parents, grandparents, friends, teachers, school faculty, board members & administrators who

attended & supported the Social on March 5th. It was truly a RED CARPET experience we will never forget

filled with socializing, dancing, & auction bidding.

A special thanks to all those who volunteered: Shannon Berg, Jon & Joann Buralli, Arlene Cabana, Birgit

Collins, Jennifer Cooper, Todd Davis, Vipul Dedhia, Sue Gainer, Katy Hinsdale, Kim Joseph, Carri Anne

The PTA elections were held on March 1st at the General Meeting. We would like to welcome the newest

2016-2017 PTA Executive Committee member: Birgit Collins, Vice President. Birgit will be replacing Sima

Patel who has served in the VP position for two years. We look forward to adding Birgit’s energy,

enthusiasm, & creativity to the PTA!

I would like to remind all 7th grade parents that if they are interested in being on the 8th grade committee for

next year, to please contact either myself or a PTA Board member. We will be determining the chairman and

sub-committees either in late April or early May.

We still have a few events left for the school year. Wednesday, April 13th will be the rescheduled Family Art

Night. We are super excited about the art projects planned by Shannon Berg & her committee. The End of

the Year Celebration has just been finalized for Friday, May 13th at Salerno’s in Hodgkins. This adult event

will be a casual evening of fun, food, and recognition for Mr. Jim, Middle School custodian, who is retiring.

We will also be inducting Birgit into the board.

Treasurer’s Report -Kim Praser, Treasurer

As of March 31, 2016 the Pleasantdale PTA’s cash balance was $53,288.22.

There was a net income of $17,624.39. Profits came from the auction. Losses came from the auction and elementary

school field trips.

Please note:

Income and Check Requisition Forms are available at each school (in PTA mailbox) and online (under the PTA

link).

For expense submissions, only original receipts may be submitted and sales tax will not be reimbursed

If cash as income, the person submitting the income must have a second person count the cash and sign off on the

form.

Please allow 14 days for check requisitions to be processed.

Please email or phone me of any deposits or expense reimbursements, so that I am aware of them.

Please do not leave any deposits that include cash; call me to arrange drop off or pick up.
