This Year’s Book Fair sales
were an all-time record! I
want to thank each and
every Family, Student,
Grandparent, and Community Member for
their wonderful and generous support!
Your generosity truly is appreciated!
While the Grand Total is still being
calculated, I wanted to let you all know
that the profits from Scholastic will go
100% back into the Bernice Vossbeck
Library for new books! I will be replacing
many well loved books as well as increasing
our Science, Technology, Fiction and Non-
Fiction sections with new and updated
materials. I would also like to mention how
wonderful it was to meet so many new
Parents and catching up with Students
and Families from the past and present! I
feel truly blessed to be your child's
Librarian! Special Thanks goes out to
Janice Morrison, Owen Morrison, Judy
McKenzie, and Michael McKenzie for all
of their help!
Sincerely, Mrs. Fiebig
Principal’s Message
...from Mrs. Midboe As we express our gratitude to Mrs. Karb this month for her years of service as our PVT Coordinator, it is the perfect opportunity to communicate the various ways that our families and the community are involved at BVE. Take a look at the flowchart below, and THANK YOU from the depths of our hearts. We are blessed and better because of you!
BVE 2015
Family-Community-Pre-Service-Internship Involvement The volunteerism and involvement of families, extended family, community members, and attendees of local
colleges and universities is thriving at Bernice Vossbeck Elementary. Listed below, are a number of ways
that our vital contributors support the learning, achievement, and school spirit of our students and staff with-
in our school culture:

B.V.E. Marathon Finishers 2015
We would like to
take a minute to
thank Mrs. Deanna
Karb for her time
served on our
Bernice Vossbeck
Elementary School
Parent Volunteer
Team!!
Deanna served as
the PVT
Coordinator from July 2013 to October
2015. She had many fond memories of her
time served but her greatest memory of all
of the events she helped coordinate, were
the smiles on the faces of our Students.
Whether they were at a book reading, bingo
night, carnival, or jog-a-thon, She will
always remember the smiles and joy that
our Families had together.
“Get involved by volunteering. Whether it’s
in the Classroom, helping with the Marathon
Club, or organizing an event, I encourage
you to get involved. Your kids will love it
and it makes your heart feel good!”
~Deanna Karb
“Everyone can do something.”
~Mother Teresa
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * We are currently looking for a highly
organized individual that would like to take
over the open position of PVT Coordinator.
If you or someone you know is interested in
this important part of our school culture,
just let us know! Mrs. Karb was able to
develop a ‘well-oiled’ process with her
ability to delegate certain aspects; so, it
truly is a “Coordinator” role.
Congratulations to all of our Marathon Club Participants! We
are VERY proud of all of your for making the choice to be more
active at recess time!! This year was our BIGGEST YEAR EVER
with 124 Students finishing an entire Marathon.
