BEST DRIVING DIRECTIONS FOR ENNIS BLUEBONNET TRAILS- (THESE ARE DRIVING TRAILS) PRESENTED BY ENNIS GARDEN CLUB 2019 May 2, 2019: The 2019 Ennis Bluebonnet season has come to an end. We will see you again in 2020! Thank you! There are a few flowers still left on the North and South Trail but flowers are starting to go back to seed. We do not recommend driving long distances at this time. It is mostly a pretty country drive at this time. For South and North trails, travel east (left) on Ennis Ave. to I-45: For West (Parks) Trail, travel west (right) on W. Ennis Ave. Please use your map with the directions below- (North Trail): Drive north on IH-45 and take Exit #259, FM 813. Turn right on FM 813 and drive east. FM 813 becomes Hwy. 660. Turn (L) on Hwy 660 to Bristol. In Bristol, turn (R) on Union Hill. Turn (R) at school house and follow Union Hill Rd. to Andrews Rd. Turn (L) on Andrews Rd and follow to Slate Rock Rd. Turn (L) on Slate Rock and (L) on Stacks. Turn (R) at stop sign on Hwy. 660 to Sugar Ridge Rd. Turn (L) on Sugar Ridge Rd. At the end of Sugar Ridge, turn (R) on FM 813 to FM 879. Turn (L) onto FM 879 returning to I-45. (South Trail): Drive south on I-45 to Hwy 85 (Exit #249). Go east (L) on Hwy. 85 to Mach Rd. Turn (L) on Mach Rd, and turn (R) on Walker Creek Rd. Stay to (R) on Walker Creek Rd. to FM 1181. Turn (L) on FM 1181 and return to I-45. (West (PARKS) Trail): Meadow View Nature Area (G on map), 1901 Laneview Dr, is open for car traffic from 8 am until dark throughout April and can be walked into also. The park can only be accessed off of Hwy 34/Lake Bardwell Dr. There are patches and roadside blooms at this time, not big fields, at Meadow View but a good area for pictures in the flowers and to park and walk around and to picnic. Ennis Veterans Memorial Park (D)and Bluebonnet Park (E) are good parks for playground areas and picnics.
