popular section.This year, we were especially proud to offer online voting for the first time ever. We received an

overwhelming number of ballots in response to our advertisements asking The Lebanon Democrat and Mt. Juliet

News readers to vote for their favorite local businesses. Readers selected the best businesses in over 70 categories.

Although this was not a scientific survey, we used a long and careful process to make sure each ballot was counted.

The results are listed in this section. Thanks to all of our readers who took time to complete the ballots, including

online ballots, and returning them to our office.

Family owned and operated, Demos’ consistent high standards in food quality and service have been

72 entrees from $6.99-$9.99 and 80% of their lunch entrees are under $7. And you can enjoy a daily

“It’s the family’s secret sauces that keep patrons coming back to Sake Japanese Grill,” says Kim McGee, the owner’s daughter.The restaurant, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, sits on West Main Street in Leba-non and has been voted the Best Asian Restaurant in Wilson County!Kim, Wayne and Huy, along with their parents, Hich and Dung Truong, have been operating the family-owned business with emphasis on “family.” They are both pleased and surprised that they have been considered a “local favorite” and that the restaurant’s popularity has grown so quickly. One of the things that a lot of people seem to like –– quite a lot, in fact –– is the signature “Sake Sauce.” Kim’s father developed the sauce, which Kim says is similar to shrimp sauce found at other Japanese restaurants, but is unique in its own way. “Our Sake Sauce, along with all of our other sauces, are homemade,” Kim said. “When new people come in, they often tell us we should bottle and sell our signature sauces.” Kim states that “the Sake Sauce is very versatile, and goes with pretty much everything. It can be a salad dressing, dipping sauce or whatever one can imagine.” It’s everybody’s new-found favorite! The Truongs say their only form of advertisement is by word of mouth. The food sells itself and when you dine in, you can expect deliciously fresh, made-to-order food that is served with a smile. Sushi fans bring in their novice friends to try the tasty, exotic treat. “With sushi, we can recommend a certain roll for the beginners,” Kim said. “They almost always get hooked and crave for more.” “Sometimes, our regulars will come in, have a seat, and we bring out their plates without giving them a menu or asking for their order,” Kim said. “They normally have the same thing with each visit, the hospitality is very rare and you can only find it at Sake Japanese Grill.”

LEBANON, Tenn. — The Lebanon Zaxby’s, located at 638 S. Cumber-land St., was recently voted “Best Chicken” in Wilson County. This is the restaurant’s fourth community-elected honor for “Best Chicken” which it fi rst received in July of 2010. The location has received a total of six awards since opening its doors in November of 2004, when it was voted “Best New Restau-rant in Wilson County.”

To thank the community for these honors, the Lebanon Zaxby’s loca-tion will hold a Free Nibbler Day, Thursday, August 1st. Guests who dine at the Lebanon location will receive one FREE Nibbler with their meal.

As the story has been told, Robert E. Lee came to acquire the building which is currently

Mobile Check Deposits: If you don’t want to make a special trip to the bank to deposit a check, you don’t have to. Get our free smart phone app to image the check and add it to your account with just a few quick taps. This free new service is available August 1.

New Website: We’ve upgraded the backdrop for all our online services in a big way this summer. Visit the new wilsonbank.com and you’ll find improved functionality, quick access to online banking, photos from our community events and more, not to mention a fresh, clean look. Our new site launched July 1.

Online Account Opening: Starting this fall, when you want to start a new account at WBT, you’ll have the option to do that completely online. Upon its ar-rival, which is slated for September, this free service will allow you to do everything from opening to funding without visiting a branch.

Kasasa Checking and Saving Accounts: This October, a suite of new WBT deposit accounts can help you earn higher checking inter-est rates for certain balance levels, with no monthly fees. And you can pair Kasasa checking with specialized savings accounts to store away your extra earnings automatically.
