Tathawade- Pune Best Practices in College Youth Parliament: (2018-2019) Objective: To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man's point of view, form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner. To develop in them an understanding that they respect the rules and discuss systematically and effectively and to make available their views to policy makers and implementers to take it forward. Indira College of Commerce and Science had organized first-ever ‘Youth Parliament’ in Pune region, on 8th August’2018 in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Pune. With the motive to make students aware of the actual parliamentary work and to know the role of the ministers and the citizens this program proves to be vital and moreover the young minds get a platform to express their views and opinions. Students participated and prepared themselves with great zeal. The Chief Guest Miss Monika Singh the Deputy Collector & Deputy Election Officer-State Government of Maharashtra, inaugurated “Electoral Literacy Youth Club”. She addressed the students and focused on the purpose of the club. The Guest of honor Mr. Yashwant Mankhedkar, Chief Coordinator of NYKS, addressed the students and briefed the young members of parliament about rules and regulations of parliamentary sessions. The parliament ministries were assigned to students who played role of ministers and one of the student was given speaker’s post to conduct the parliament. the Youth Parliament was kept open for all. The session was concluded by the Honorable Prime Minister and the Honorable speaker respectively. Dr. Nalanda Wani and Prof. Abhijeet Chavan were the judges of this Youth Parliament session. The topics discussed and debated were employment generation, urban & rural areas, problems of tribal people, education in government and private schools, women’s safety, prices of petroleum products, Finance and defense related, small & medium scale Industries, sources of power & renewable resources, textile Industries, infrastructure etc. All participants were awarded with a ‘Certificate of Participation’ by the guests. The best speakers of Youth Parliament session were Mr. Ritik Taunk (acted as honorable speaker), Mr. Laksh Dujari (acted as Minister) and Mr. Akash Gaikwad (acted as opposition leader). The event was very well executed under the supervision of Dr. Deepa Jamnik and Prof. Vijay More.

Best Practices in College

Youth Parliament: (2018-2019)

IFEEP-2018-2019

I-FEEP:

Objective:

To enrich quality teaching

To adopt new skills and strategies

For overall development of faculties

Under Faculty Development Program, the college organizes Indira Faculty Efficiency

Enhancement Program (I-FEEP) for versatile development of faculties of the institute. The aim

of this program is to enrich quality teaching and to improve and update teaching skills and

strategies. This program focuses and motivates the faculties to keep updated their knowledge

according to the improved changes and imparts training related to new educational strategies,

development of teaching skills, personality development, health management, stress management

and the like. Dignitaries from various fields are invited to guide the faculties to enhance their

overall performance.

A series of lectures and demonstrations were organized on 17th April 2019 by the college for the

enrichment and overall development of all the faculty members. As part of Indira Faculty

Efficiency Enhancement Program, Dr. C.N.Rawal, Principal BMCC, a scholarly and highly

experienced, delivered a very informative and instructive lecture cum presentation on the topic

"Teaching Learning Process" correlating it with changes in NAAC's method of assessment over

the years. The lecture was very objective, specific and transparent regarding the topic. The

presentation ended with practical words of wisdom, integrating wit, humor and substance.

The IFEEP series was concluded with a very interesting session related to mental health (Stress

free life). Dr.Sonali Talavlikar (CACPE) Gultekadi, delivered a talk on the topic: STRESS. The

talk was interactive and amazingly interesting as it was appropriate for the modern lifestyle and

concerns all. Every aspect was discussed amicably. The speaker also demonstrated some simple

exercises involving all the present faculty members. Everyone enjoyed the session and all were

benefitted by it.
