FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE We believe that every child and family should have the opportunity to participate in any YMCA pro-gram and enjoy the benefits of being a YMCA mem-ber. Financial assistance for camp is available for those in need. If applying for camp, applicant must have already been denied by CCIS and a copy of the denial letter must be included with the scholarship application. Since demand is great, financial assis-tance is awarded subject to available resources. Ap-plications are located at the Welcome Desk. Finan-cial assistance is awarded on a first come first serve basis. Those not able to pay the full fee may be awarded partial financial assistance based on their demonstrated ability to pay and the Y’s ability to fund the subsidy. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing of the application.

HELP SEND A CHILD TO CAMP We believe that every child should have the opportunity to attend summer camp. For more information on how you can provide a camp experience for a child, please contact our Branch Director or visit poconoymca.org. Your donation will not only change a child’s summer, it could make a change their life.

POSITIVE ROLE MODELS

DEDICATED STAFF Our passionate and enthusiastic summer camp staff are chosen for their strong character, maturity and commitment to our Y values and serve as Professional Role Models for our campers. Each member of our camp staff is CPR and First Aid certified and has passed a background screening.

CAMPER-TO-COUNSELOR RATIOS YMCA Day Camping offers children a quality, outdoor summertime experience that is age-appropriate and focuses on their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

We emphasize and encourage core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with our campers and staff. Our Summer Camp programs are fully licensed through the state of Pennsylvania, which means we have higher standards than the average summer camp.

Our child to staff ratios start at 1:10 for the Curious Minds group and 1:15 for the school-age children. These ratios follow the State Mandated ratios for licensing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT TO WEAR? Comfortable, lightweight clothing and sneakers should be worn each day. Camp T-shirts should be worn on field trip days. Please be sure everything is labeled with your child’s first and last name.

WHY DO I HAVE TO SIGN-IN AND SIGN-OUT MY CHILD? For the safety of every child, parents/guardians are required to sign-in and sign-out their child every day. Please bring your photo ID.

WILL THE STAFF GIVE MY CHILD MEDICATION? The staff is not permitted to administer medications. If your child uses an inhaler, this is to be labeled and turned into the camp director. The staff will provide the inhaler for your child to use. All other medications must be administered by a parent or guardian at home.

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP: Sunscreen, insect spray, bathing suit & towel, LUNCH and a refillable WATER BOTTLE. Please Label everything with your camper’s first and last name.

WHAT NOT TO BRING TO CAMP: Toys, hand-held games, electronic devices, weapons of any kind, and money. The Y and its staff are not responsible for lost items.

What are you doing this summer? The Y offers a teen camp experience for youth ages 13-16 in a safe atmosphere with a highly trained, fun and energetic staff. Teen Camp offers leadership and service learning opportunities to keep teens engaged in meaningful activities during the summer months. Teen Camp is filled with fun and exciting events so your teen won't feel like they are in a day camp, but like they are hanging out with friends.

Teens will complete service learning projects, organize and help run special camp events. Each week will include guest speakers, trips, projects, life skills as well as on-the-job experiences throughout the community. Your teen may be left at the YMCA before or after the group meets, it is the parents responsibility to drop off and pick up. If they are members of the YMCA, they will be able to: workout in the fitness center after they have finished teen strength, swim during open swim or even volunteer at member services. This program will help foster teen and team development and is not a baby-sitting service. All teens will participate in the

daily activities which include weekly planning meetings. Mini Camp available beginning June 5 for a daily rate. June 19 weekly themes and pricing begins.
