DEDICATED STAFF Pocono Family Y staff are led by a team of dedicated full-time Directors. Our passionate and enthusiastic summer camp staff are chosen for their strong character, maturity, and commitment to our Y Values and serve as Professional Role Models for our campers. Each member of our camp staff is CPR and First Aid certified and has passed a background screening.

CAMPER-TO-COUNSELOR RATIOS YMCA Day Camping offers children a quality, outdoor summertime experience that is age-appropriate and focuses on their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

We emphasize and encourage core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with our campers and staff. Our Summer Camp programs are fully licensed through the state of Pennsylvania, which means we have higher standards than the average summer camp.

Our child to staff ratios start at 1:7 for the youngest group up to 1:10 for the older children. These ratios exceed the State Mandated ratios for licensing. We feel the lower ratios help us to deliver on your camper’s success and us delivering quality programming!

CAMPING WITH A PURPOSE Campers will gain new abilities, challenge themselves with the unexplored and learn to work with others as a team. Nothing is more rewarding than watching a camper as they learn a new skill or make a new life-long friend.

TEEN SUMMER OPTIONS LEADERSHIP, ACCOMPLISHMENT,

ACCEPTANCE (Ages 13 - 16)

What are you doing this summer? The Y offers a teen camp experience for youth ages 13-16 in a safe atmosphere with a highly trained, fun and energetic staff. Teen Camp offers leadership and service learning opportunities to keep teens engaged in meaningful activities during the summer months. Teen Camp is filled with fun and exciting events so your teen won't feel like they are in a day camp but like they are hanging out with friends.

Teens will help out in a variety of different programs in

the Y. Throughout the summer they will learn life skills

to get them better prepared for the future. Teens will

complete service learning projects, organize and help

run camp events. Each week will include guest

speakers, trips, and projects. Your teen may be left at

the YMCA before or after the club meets, it is the

parents responsibility to drop them and pick them up.

If they are members of the YMCA they will be able to:

workout in the fitness center after they have finished

teen strength, swim during open swim, or even

volunteer at member services. This program will help

foster teen and team development and is not a baby-sitting service. All teens will

participate in the daily activities and will include weekly planning meetings.
