Christmas Project State Convention Fundraising Slide 3 Purpose The
purpose of this organization shall be to promote the ideals of
honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among
secondary school students; to reward meritorious academic
achievement; and to encourage and assist students in continuing
their education after high school. Slide 4 Our Motto The motto of
The National Beta Club is "Let Us Lead by Serving Others." This
motto, more than simply a catchy phrase, states the philosophy upon
which The National Beta Club is based. Service to others is indeed
one of the most important characteristics of Beta Club membership.
Opportunities to serve are found in every school and community
situation, whether large or small - urban, suburban or rural. There
are needs that could and should be addressed by Beta members in
every school and community. Let us lead by Serving Others Slide 5
Community Service EACH MEMBER OF THE CLUB IS EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE
COMMUNITY SERVICE to the school and/or community. The service
projects and opportunities will be headed by advisors and officers
and ALL suggestions are welcome by members. 10 hours are required
per semester Slide 6 Academic Expectations To receive an invitation
to join the Beta Club, you are required to have a 3.5 GPA. To
maintain membership, students are required to maintain a 3.5 GPA.
Slide 7 Expected Behaviors Members of the club should conduct
themselves in a manner that upholds the purpose of the
organization, as well as display behaviors that represent
themselves, the school, their parents, and the community in a
positive light. There should be minimum and limited behavior
infractions although NO negative behaviors are encouraged. Slide 8
Accountability Students who cannot meet the community, academic, or
behavioral expectations will be placed on a probation status by the
advisors. How do I get on probation? Cumulative GPA lower than a
3.5 Not meeting the service hours requirement Behaviors that go
against the purpose of the organization. Poor attendance to
meetings without prior notice to officers and advisors. Slide 9 It
is our goal to make you aware of the rules and expectations,
therefore you can be mindful and govern yourselves accordingly.

the Beta Club Convention, many competitions and events will be
held. There will be committees for each event. Consider joining
one: Slide 16 State Convention Trip will cost $300 to cover hotel,
food, and travel expenses The first payment will be due on November
7 th to Mrs. Blanchett at the front desk We have a limit of 40 boys
and girls, so make sure to sign up as soon as you can We have
fundraising opportunities, as Alana will explain Slide 17
