WELCOME, VISITORS! We are delighted to have you worship with us today. We invite you to participate as fully in our worship service as you feel comfortable. Bethany Church offers a full range of study and fellowship opportunities for children, youth, young adults, and older adults. Sunday school, in session from 9:45-10:45 a.m. each Sunday morning, features several different classes for adults, one class for youth, three classes for children, and a nursery. We invite you to come back to Bethany and get to know us better! For more information please visit www.bethanyumc-gp.org. OUR NURSERY — For the convenience of parents with small children, a nursery is provided during both worship services, as well as during the Sunday school hour. The maximum suggested age for the nursery is four years old. Please see an usher or greeter for directions. ALTAR FLOWERS are given for the glory of God and in honor of Pastor Debbie and Lewis by Clair and Sarah Hillard. ADULT BIBLE STUDY will not meet October 31 and November 7. We will

resume on Monday, November 14.

Appeal from The Samaritan Group

On GivingTuesday, The Samaritan Group hopes to raise $10,000 in order to help 20 more Gloucester families experiencing financial emergencies due to a variety of circumstances. Most often help is needed with rent or power and heating bills. So far in 2016, The Samaritan Group has helped 150 Gloucester families who do not receive any other assistance to stay safely in their homes. The number of applications for help has grown and funds are needed in order to assist more families. The Samaritan Group respectfully asks that you support this mission with a donation on GivingTuesday. Thank You! Online: Go to GiveGloucester.org, choose The Samaritan Group, and click on Donate Now. By mail: The Samaritan Group, P. O. Box 784, White Marsh, VA 23183

SPECIAL THANKS to the HUGS Ministry for the beautiful lap robe and the prayers of the congregation, also the calls and cards received. I have an interesting journey ahead of me, but plan on a complete recovery with God's help! Know the "warmth" of the robe will be comforting. — Merle Luther

THANK YOU — During the course of the year, the members of Abingdon Woman’s Club (AWC) work very hard to raise funds for the community and provide fellowship. This could not happen without your generous support in providing meeting space as well as a location for our Annual Yard Sale. It is with great pride that the AWC present Bethany UMC’s Pastor’s Discretionary Fund with a check for $500. The AWC is honored to donate to Bethany United Methodist Church and to support the excellent work you do to serve the residents of Gloucester County. Best regards, Valerie Cook, President
