    Many consumers choose to buy white cars instead o% red or b&ue no matter what brand the car is,

    where it was bui&t or how many cup ho&ders it has# This is a consumer pre%erence# Why is white

    the most popu&ar car co&or< Some peop&e say it is because it si"ni%ies purity or even techno&o"y#

    The co&or o% a car has nothin" to do with how the car %unctions, so &o"ic wou&d say that a&& co&ors

    wou&d se&& the same amount or car manu%acturers wou&d on&y produce one co&or# However, this is

    Sometimes, consumer pre%erences may &ead to ne"ative resu&ts# Shampoo companies %ound that

    their customers associate suds with c&ean&iness, &eadin" them to add studdin" a"ents to their 

     products even thou"h the amount o% suds has nothin" to do with how we&& the shampoos c&ean

    hair# The %irst company to add more suds to their %ormu&a was ab&e to use it as a mar$etin" and

     promotiona& advanta"e# Other companies %o&&owed suit, &eadin" to a business competition#

    Un%ortunate&y, the more sudsy the &ather, the worse the shampoo wi&& c&ean# This is true %or two

    reasons# Accordin" to the :o* Avenue Sa&on website, =:irst, the e*treme&y sudsy shampoo ta$es

    much &on"er to rinse out o% your hair, resu&tin" in e*cessive use o% water# Second&y, with so many

    suds the hair doesn>t seem to "et as c&ean#= So, instead o% manu%acturers educatin" customers on

    how shampoo wor$s, they add chemica&s to ad'ust their products to the consumer pre%erence#
