BHPS News Issue 31 Term 411 October 2017
News from the Principal Welcome back to Term 4On behalf of the school's teachers, admin staff and support staff I would like to welcomeeveryone back for the start of Term 4. This term we have had a number of new families joinour school community and we extend a very warm welcome to them. Our students havealready settled back into the routine of school and are focused on their learning goals. Overthe next few weeks teachers will be finalising their assessments and will be preparing towrite student end of year reports. This term Mrs Goodsell will be on leave for weeks 1-3 and I will be relieving as Principalduring this time. Mrs Geri Kerr will be relieving as Deputy Principal Years 3-6 and MissBianca Howarth will be relieving as Deputy Principal K- 2. Miss Kirsty Hall will be relievingas Assistant Principal Years 1-2. Regular school attendance is important, particularly as we approach the end of the schoolyear. Student absences should be explained within seven days from the first day of absenceand can be communicated to the school through an online form which is available on theschool's website. If you require information about student attendance requirements pleasespeak to your child's class teacher. Snake AwarenessAs we approach the summer months snakes are becoming more mobile as they search forfood and seek refuge from the heat. During the school holidays a python was sighted in the school's playground. Pythons are notdangerous. Snakes usually prefer to retreat when people are nearby and when left alone theypresent little or no danger. While the sighting of the snake was unusual, we have taken a number of preventativemeasures to ensure student safety including advising students to walk away and tell ateacher if they see a snake. Points BannersCongratulations to the following students who will receive their points banners at next week'sYears K-2 assembly being held in the school hall on Monday 16 October 2017 commencingat 2.00pm.
