Rick Payne is ICAEW’s expert on building effective fi nance departments and the role of the Chief Financial Offi cer. He qualifi ed with KPMG and having worked as a divisional CFO in the fi nancial services industry, including

three years based in Hong Kong, he now draws on his experience to lead ICAEW’s Finance Direction programme.

Rick is actively researching Big Data and analytics, and the implications for business, fi nance professionals and society more generally.

IVAN TEH

Ivan is the Managing Director of Fusionex. He has over 16 years experience in the ICT industry and is frequently invited to give talks, present his views and share insights in forums and events globally. Closer to home,

Ivan has been invited on BFM, the Edge, Ernst & Young and The Star on a number of occasions to share his views and vision, especially on how technology can help businesses.

Ivan has led the Fusionex team to the creation of global award-winning software and solutions. He is also the only ASEAN representative at the Global Business Intelligence Advisory Council where top leaders gather in the United States. Recently, Ivan was declared the Winner of the Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Award, as well as the recipient of Asia Pacifi c’s Most Outstanding Entrepreneur.

THILLAI RAJ T. RAMANATHAN

Thillai is the Chief Technology Offi cer and Head of Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT) Division in MIMOS Berhad. He has 20 years experience in Electronics Design

and Manufacturing, 15 years management experience and possesses in-depth technical skills in Software Engineering. Thillai is the driver behind software development initiatives and the roll-out of proof-of-concept solutions to Malaysia’s key economic sectors.

Under his leadership and guidance, Thillai has led Motorola and MIMOS in achieving CMMI Level 5. He holds a Six Sigma Black Belt and has seven patents to his name.

BHARAT BHUSHAN VERMA, PHD

Bharat is a rigorous researcher and a meticulous practitioner of Statistics, Operations Research and Econometrics. He has radically advanced the fi eld of Strategic Marketing & Consumer Analytics, Statistical & Predictive

Modelling and Social Media & Big Data Analytics.

He has over 15 years of consulting experience in various professional industries across Asia, Middle East and Europe and has consulted and published many papers in the fi eld of Electricity Markets, Telecommunication, Public Health and Higher Education.

Bharat is the Founder-President of Specialists India, a group of more than 700 management doctorates and researchers from premier institutions. He holds a Doctorate in Statistics and Quantitative Sciences from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad and a Post Graduate in Physics from the University of Mumbai.

GEORGE CHUA

George Chua is the Head of Intelligence at Celcom Axiata Berhad where he is responsible for leading a team that offers market research, analytics, pricing and profi tability management services to internal clients. Prior to Celcom, George

was Senior Manager, Data Mining at OMG Asia where he is responsible for client consulting on shopper analytics and managing shopper analytics projects.

George is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, a member of the World Economic Association and the Internet Society. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology from the British Computer Society, an MBA with distinction from James Cook University, Australia and is currently a part-time doctoral candidate in Managerial Economics at SMC University, Switzerland.

LOON WING YUEN

Wing Yuen is the Programme Director of Innovation, Group Information and Operations Division in CIMB Bank. He has over 25 years experience in many areas of the IT industry, ranging from technology (custom development,

operating systems and systems administration, storage administration, networks and network administration, databases and database administration and business intelligence) to setting up and the running of PMOs and Innovation.

His interests are in the area of Machine Learning at scale, the area of massively parallel and scaling out of Machine Learning techniques and technologies being tasked to process massive datasets in order to provide a new level of business insights and predictions, as well as a whole new class of business applications.

SHEIKH MANZOOR GHANI

Sheikh is the Executive Director at SAS Malaysia where he works closely with public and commercial organisations in Malaysia to help propel their analytics journey. Sheikh has been championing the use and benefi ts of

analytics as organisational practices across the South-East Asia region for over 15 years.

His role is to help organisations face their "Big Data" challenges by adopting an enterprise wide analytical strategy to derive value within their data and to look into the “art of possible” with Business Analytics. Sheikh holds an honours degree in Business Studies and Finance from Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.

HOH YOON HOONG

Yoon Hoong is a Partner for the Assurance & Advisory Business Services (AABS) at Ernst & Young. He is also the Country Leader for Data Analytics Implementation and

Japanese Assurance Business Services. With more than 20 years professional experience in assurance and advisory services, he has managed attest audits of many government-linked, multinational and public-listed companies from various industries in Malaysia.

Yoon Hoong is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certifi ed Accountants (FCCA) and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

NG WAN PENG

Wan Peng is the Chief Operating Offi cer of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). Her areas of responsibility include Corporate Governance, Information Intelligence &

Analytics and Corporate Performance. She also oversees the Digital Malaysia implementation as part of MDeC’s new mandate moving forward.

She has more than 20 years industry experience in managing large-scale projects in areas of Strategic IT Planning, Project Management, Systems Integration, and Methodologies Development and has consulted for both private and public sector organisations in IT policy and project implementation in government, defense and education sectors in Malaysia and abroad.

AZHAR BIN ABU TALIB

Azhar is the Director of MIMOS Berhad, a public-listed R&D centre in ICT under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. A person who has a natural passion for everything that involves technology, Azhar has

designed a security system for MIMOS Cloud Computing Initiative, which applies the technique from Trusted Computing Initiatives to create a trusted environment inside Cloud Computing.

He graduated from Ohio University, USA with a BSc in Computer Science and has been the recipient of several academic awards as well as corporate awards from MIMOS Berhad. Azhar has also contributed to a number of publications for international conferences and is a holder of various patents.

DANI MICHAUX

Dani is an Executive Director of KPMG Management Consulting IT Advisory based in Malaysia, a Partner with ASEAN Management Consulting and the acting Chief Information Security Offi cer (CISO) for a large vertically

integrated energy player in Malaysia. She is also part of the Cloud Computing Group at KPMG MY, where she leads the Cloud Security initiatives.

Currently the ASEAN and ASPAC Cyber Security Lead, Dani has over 15 years experience, providing consultation to multiple clients on Unifi ed Compliance and Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, Information Governance, IT GRC, Information Security Management Systems, Security Architecture, Security Remediation Programmes and Security Assessment.

NICKSON CHOO

Nickson is a Director on Risk Consulting at Deloitte Malaysia and has over 24 years experience conducting GST project implementations, project management, operational audits, information technology audits,

corporate governance advisory, operational risk and control reviews, fraud investigations and business process improvement reviews for public-listed and multinational companies in various industries. He started his career in the Internal Audit function of a Fortune 1000 insurance company, and has worked in 2 leading mid-size professional fi rms for leading and managing the risk advisory services.
