Introduction

PurposeEducational Opportunities Tours, Inc. (EO) is a company dedicated to providing qualitytravel programs to church and community groups across the United States at anaffordable price. In 1974, the founders of EO sought to incorporate extra learningexperiences into travel programs whenever possible and chose a company name toreflect that emphasis. Lectures, study books, and specialized guiding are the hallmarksof EO programs. Although this method of travel has spread widely through the industry,EO continues to be a pioneer in developing new opportunities that enhance the travelexperiences of our clients.

Music at EOWith worldwide resources and years of experience, EO progressed naturally toaccommodate churches and groups wishing to “Sing Around the World.” Music at EOenables choirs to perform in magnificent venues while enjoying a full‐service group tourto amazing destinations. Utilizing our vast industry contacts to organize, promote, andmanage each tour, enables EO to create master choir tours, cooperative internationalchoir concerts, customized performance tours, and participate in music festivalsanywhere in the world.

Working for YouFrom the first stages of planning to a successfully completed tour, EO is with you all theway. An EO representative will work with you personally to design, operate, andmanage each group program. Administrative challenges such as answering participantquestions, passport and travel insurance inquiries, assuring timely receipt/collection offunds, arranging tour accommodations, and concert promotion are handled expertly bythe EO staff. We look forward to partnering with you to build your journey of a lifetime.

Tour Specifics

1. Venues and Concert PlanningVenues: EOT has contact with thousands of venues throughout the world.

Historic Venues: Perform for local audiences drawn through EO promotionor simply for the amazing acoustic experience of the venue. Examplesinclude national cathedrals, churches, basilicas, ancient theaters, andnational monument sites.

Mission Venues: Your group will be able to minister to those less fortunateor in need by performing at orphanages, hospitals, wellness centers,retirement homes, and youth centers.

Professional Venues: Groups looking to gain international recognition willbenefit from fully promoted concerts in venues including major concerthalls, national parks, and cruise ships.

Auditions: Some venues will require audition tapes of your group with anaccompanying bio of the group and director. EO will advise you when this isnecessary.

Concert Promotion and Publicity: When needed, EO will extensively promote andpublicize choir performances to maximize audience attendance.

2. Transportation and AccommodationsAir Transportation: Over ten thousand passengers travel with EO every year. Ourextensive and diverse client‐volume in the travel industry allows contracting withmajor carriers (both domestic and international) to satisfy the needs of any groupfrom anywhere in the United States.

Ground Transportation: Ground travel will be provided by deluxe, air‐conditionedmotor coaches to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.

Hotel Accommodations: EO strives to assure the highest quality group travel at anaffordable price and to this end EO programs lodge at First Class or Superior TouristClass Hotels.

Meals: Standard tours include breakfast and dinner daily unless specificallyexcluded upon the group’s request. Lunches can be provided if necessary but areusually the responsibility of the participant.

Sightseeing: Every EO Tour includes an unbelievable daily journey through thegroup’s desired destination. EO will work with the director or group leader toensure the correct balance of sightseeing and performance based on group needsand preferences.

Tour Conductors and Guides: You will never be alone! EO provides a “TourConductor” with specialized knowledge of the country or countries being visited.You will be met by your Tour Conductor upon arrival overseas and be accompanieduntil your return to the USA. Your Tour Conductor will be with you to assist withanything you need and help facilitate each part of your journey. Additionally, and inorder to enhance your sightseeing experience, professional city guides will educateyour group on specific details and points of interest in each location.

3. Sample Itineraries and PricingThe following sample itineraries provide examples of EO programs. Please use these as atool for developing your group travel plans; EO is able to fully plan a customized tour to anylocation in the world! The price of the tour will be provided at the time of the quote.

ProposalOnce an itinerary has been decided upon, EO will deliver to the director a detailedproposal, outlining the program, tour specifics, and cost.

BrochuresWhen a proposal has been accepted, EO will develop a full color brochure to aid thedirector in recruiting participants. The brochure will provide all the information aparticipant will need to know about the desired destination as well as a registration formto be sent to EO to confirm a participant’s desire to join the tour. Posters can also becreated if the group so desires.

Educational Opportunities Tours, Inc. Does All the WorkEO strives to alleviate all administrative headaches and pressures from the director andgroup leaders. EO has an extensive passenger service department that will be able toanswer all the questions of the participants and an accounting department that willhandle all fund transactions and financial questions about the tour from your members.We hope that this allows you as the director to relax, enjoy yourself and focus on yourgroup’s performance.

Day 1 and 2‐ Depart USA and Arrive in Munichand KufsteinYour musical adventure begins as you departon your international flight. You will bewelcomed at the airport by ourrepresentative. Get ready for an Alpineexperience as you are transferred to yourhotel in Kufstein, Austria. It's time to relax andprepare your voices to sing in the land ofmusical history.

Day 3‐ Kufstein and Music RehearsalYour musical experience will begin afterbreakfast at your hotel. Today, you willexplore the Fortress of Kufstein and enjoy themusic of the Bürgerturm organ played daily atnoon. In 1931, the organ was placed in one ofthe castle's towers. With 4307 pipes and 46stops, it is the world's largest open‐air organ.It is played every day to commemorate thedead of both World Wars and can be heardeven at a distance of 13 km.

Day 4‐ Kufstein, Berchtesgaden, and SalzburgToday you will travel by boat toHerrenchiemsee, the famous Castle of KingLudwig II situated on an island in the BavarianSea. Later, take a short stroll through thepretty town of Berchtesgaden. This ancientmarket town offers some of the mostbreathtaking views of the Alps ever seen.Travel to Salzburg where you will see Mozart'sbirthplace, the old market square, thefortress, and the Salzburg Dom where Mozartand his father rehearsed.

Day 5‐ Sound of Music and Benefit ConcertOver 160 movies and countless televisionproductions have been filmed in and aroundthe city of Salzburg since World War II‐ one ofthe most famous being "The Sound of Music".Your day will be filled of beautiful imagesfrom the movie as you visit the familiarlocations.

Begin your Sound of Music tour at NonnbergConvent where Maria was a novice and wherethe Baron and Maria later married in 1927.Scenes from the movie made here include theopening with the nuns going to Mass andMaria coming too late. You'll see MondseeChurch that was used as the film location forMaria’s wedding. You'll walk through thegardens of Hellbrunn Castle where The Soundof Music's glass gazebo has beenreconstructed for the pleasure of fans whostill visit after 30 years. Across the water you'llrecognize the rear facade of LeopoldskronCastle as the film home of the Trapp family. Itwas here that Maria and the children fell intothe lake from a rowboat. Get your cameraready as you travel from Lake Fuschl on theway to St. Gilgen. The scenery along the way isunmistakable for it provided the dramaticopening shots of the film. Songs from themovie will be played during the drive, settingthe tone for a memorable tour.

Your afternoon will be at leisure. Tonight youwill perform in a concert at the ViguanRecreational Center. The concert will benefita Christian Foundation, "Brother and Sister inNeed", that provides aid to African, Bosnian,and Austrian children.

Day 6‐ Salzburg and Cathedral ConcertThis morning you will attend a church serviceat the beautiful Italian baroque Cathedral ofSt. Wolfgang. After the service you willperform in an afternoon concert for thecongregation. You will travel to the grand cityof Vienna.

Day 7‐ ViennaBeautiful and romantic Vienna is the citywhere Mozart lived and created his greatestmasterpieces. You'll drive along the grandestavenue in Vienna, the Ringstrasse, for a viewof some of the city's many magnif icentbuildings: the Opera House, Museum of FineArts, Parliament, Burgtheatre, Town Hall, theUniversity, and the Stock Exchange. Visit theHofburg Treasury to see the crown jewels.Visit the Imperial Apartments of thecelebrated Schonbrunn Palace, the splendidsummer residence of Empress Maria Theresa.In Vienna's Old City, the tower of St.Stephen's Cathedral has become the symbolof Vienna. The old city offers great shoppingor people watching as you enjoy relaxing in atypical Viennese Coffee House.

Day 8‐ Vienna Outreach and Concert This morning you will visit the Vienna BlindInstitute where you will brighten the lives ofthe children by performing a short programand visiting with them throughout themorning. After the provided lunch, you willhave an afternoon rehearsal at the ViennaKonzerthaus in preparation for tonight'sconcert.

Day 9‐ Vienna and Concert at Karl's ChurchThe morning will be at leisure. After lunch youwill have a rehearsal at Karl's Church. Thatevening you will leave your last musical markin Vienna by performing in a concert at thehistoric Karl's Church. The architectural designof the church helps enhance your experiencewith its wonderful acoustics.

Day 10‐ Travel to USASay "Auf Wiedersehen" to the land of musicalhistory with memories of leaving your ownhistoric mark.

Day 1 and 2‐ Depart USA and Arrive in London You will arrive in London this morning andtake a drive through its historic streets. Beforeperforming, seek to learn more about theworld of the English. Passing throughTrafalgar Square, you will see the Nelsonmonument and the National Gallery. You willalso see Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament,Whitehall, and Hyde Park. Next, visitWestminster Abbey where most of the Englishkings and queens have been crowned since1066 and where many are buried. To concludeyour first day of sightseeing, experience thefamous changing of the guard at BuckinghamPalace (circumstances permitting).

Day 3‐ Winchester and StonehengeToday you will travel to Stonehenge. Situatedin the pleasant rolling hills of HampshireCounty is the city of Winchester ‐ home ofWinchester Cathedral. Known as Europe’slongest Gothic church, it boasts impressivemarble columns and beautifully vaultedceilings. Not far away is Winchester’s GreatHall, which houses the famous Round Table ofKing Arthur. Later today you will visit theprehistoric monument Stonehenge, whichstands on the Salisbury Plain. It is consideredthe best preserved and most celebrated ofthe megalithic monuments of Europe. Walkaround Stonehenge and try to decide foryourself the real purpose of this famouslandmark.

Day 4‐ Bath and Cardiff, WalesEnjoy a morning excursion to Bath, whichincludes a visit to the ancient Roman baths.Now that you feel British, travel to Wales andprepare for this evening’s concert. Transfer tohotel in Cardiff, Wales.

Day 5‐ Gloucester and Stratford‐Upon‐AvonYou will continue your travels via Gloucesterto Stratford‐upon‐Avon where you can visitthe birthplace of Shakespeare, AnnHathaway’s Cottage, and then on to TrinityChurch where he was buried. Drawinginspiration from this idyllic setting, you willperform your own masterpiece at an eveningconcert. Transfer to hotel in Stratford.

Day 6‐ London and WindsorTransfer to London stopping at Windsor,where you will see Windsor Castle, St.George's Cathedral, and The Queen’s DollHouse. Transfer to hotel and remainder of dayis at leisure in London.

Day 7‐ Greenwich and CanterburyEnjoy a full day of sightseeing in Greenwichand Canterbury. Stop by the Royal GreenwichObservatory and stand on the Prime Meridian,which passes through the building. Also visitthe Trinity College of Music, founded as atraining school for church musicians. Next,travel on to Canterbury and view threeUNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Cathedral,St. Augustine’s Abbey, and St. Martin’s.Perform Evening Concert and transfer tohotel.

Day 8‐ Hampton CourtThis afternoon you will travel to HamptonCourt and visit the beautiful castle locatedthere. A place of biblical significance, it is fromhere that King James ordered a newtranslation of the bible to unify the church andaccurately communicate the message of theoriginal Hebrew and Greek texts. Performevening concert.

Day 9‐ LondonEnjoy London as you have always dreamed‐ onyour own! Ride the Underground, shop atHarrods, visit the London Zoo, Ride theLondon Eye, or spend the day roamingthrough the British Museum. Tonight, enjoythe nightlife in Regent Street or PiccadillyCircus. Or visit the lights of Leicester Squareand catch a play or musical‐ there arehundreds to choose from!

Day 10‐ Return HomeToday you will end your journey and leaveEngland with fond memories of singingaround the world!

Day 1‐ Travel to GermanyDepart this evening from New York forFrankfurt and follow the footsteps of some ofthe world’s greatest classical musicians. Asyou look forward to performing in thehistorical settings of such music greats asMozart, board the trans‐Atlantic flight andprepare yourselves for an experience of alifetime.

Day 2‐ HeidelbergToday you arrive in Frankfurt and meet thetour conductor, your guide to the vividmusical history alive here. We will depart forthe epicenter of Music History during theRomantic Period, the lively city of Heidelberg.Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3‐ Heidelberg and ConcertAs you enter the once political center of theRhineland Palatinate, your explorations willbring you to Heidelberg Castle. Sights hereinclude the Great Barrel, the Courtyard, andthe Pharmaceutical museum. After a day ofexperiencing German life and culture, it is timeto prepare for your evening concert. Afterperforming you will transfer to the hotel.

Day 4‐ Rhine River CruiseThis morning you will board an authenticsteamboat in the wine‐producing city ofRudesheim, located at the source of the RhineRiver. As you sail the romantic Rhine River toSt. Goarshausen, enjoy the beauty of passingsites such as Oberwesel (the gothic church ofOur Lady), Schonburg Castle, Bacharach, andRheinstein. Day 5‐ Rothenburg Ob Der TauberDepart for the town of Rothenburg Ob DerTauber that overlooks the sinuous course ofthe Tauber River. You will then boldly ventureinto the historic medieval crime museum.Leaving your insight into medieval crime andpunishment behind, press on to modernGermany’s economic and cultural center,Munich. Day 6‐ Munich and ConcertEnjoy a morning visit to Nymphenburg, thesummer residence of the King of Bavaria andPrince Elector. Youwill visit the Cathedral and view the famousHorse Fountain, Hohen Salzburg Fortress, theMonastery, and modern Festival Hall. Days 1 and 2‐ TravelYour musical journey begins as you departfrom the USA and arrive in Budapest. Uponarrival you will participate in a city orientationtour. Transfer to hotel for dinner andovernight.

Day 3‐ BudapestIn the morning your choir will have time torehearse for their upcoming performances ifdesired. In the afternoon enjoy time toexplore Budapest. Have a peaceful rest as youprepare to minister to the world throughsong.

Day 4‐ BudapestToday you will visit the Hosok Tere (HeroesSquare), the Opera House, and Parliament.Walk through the Castle district of Budawhere you will see many baroque‐styledcastles on medieval foundations. From GellertHill, enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Perform a concert at Matthias Church or asimilar historic church.

Day 5‐ Szentendre, Eisenstadt and ViennaToday you will leave Budapest behind andtravel to Vienna. En route, you will visit thetown of Szentendre and walk along the bankof the Danube while viewing baroque andrococo houses that line the streets of thetown. As you continue on your way to Vienna,visit Eisenstadt. Here you will visit the Haydnmuseum and Esterhazy Castle. LeavingEisenstadt behind, journey on to the grandcity of Vienna.

Day 8‐ PragueToday, set out to explore the city of Prague.Visit the Strahov Monastery founded in the12th century, with its library consisting of twobaroque halls for theological andphilosophical reading. From the terrace youhave an outstanding view of Prague. Continueon foot to Loretto Monastery and to PragueCastle and St. Vitus Cathedral, the largest ofthe Prague churches constructed over aperiod of six centuries. Evening concert will beperformed at St. Nicholas Church or similar.

Day 9‐ Terezin and PragueThis morning you will visit Terezin and theConcentration ghetto/camp. The camp wasoriginally built as a fort under the HabsburgEmpire, but it was during the occupation ofthe Nazis that Theresienstadt became known.During the second World War, the city wastransformed into a ghetto and the fort wasrebuilt into a concentration camp. The oldprison, now a museum, is a somber reminderof the events that took place here.Provide a moment of hope amidst thosegathered in remembrance as you perform ashort mission concert.

Day 10‐ DepartSay farewell to the Heart of Europe and returnhome with cherished memories of your tour.

Day 1‐ Depart USAYou’ll depart the USA and fly to Dublin,Ireland. Once arrived, you’ll be met by ourrepresentative and begin your exciting Irelandadventure.

Day 2‐ Arrive in DublinYour early morning arrival in Dublin affordsyou time for a guided city tour. Visit Dublin’sSt. Patrick’s Cathedral that was dedicated in1192. In the Old Library of Trinity College, you’llbe able to view the famous Book of Kells. This9th century manuscript is an exquisitelydecorated copy of the gospels.

Day 3‐ Wicklow, Powerscourt Gardens,WaterfordToday you will enjoy the beautiful scenery ofWicklow County ‐ known as the ‘GardenCounty’ of Ireland. Enjoy the outstandingbeauty of Powerscourt Gardens. Continue totake in the pastoral beauty of the land as youmake your way south to Waterford. You willbe amazed at the craftsmanship and stunningbeauty of Waterford Crystal as you tour thefamed factory.

Day 4‐ Cobh and BlarneyIn Cobh, you will visit the Heritage Center.Today you will be able to perform a missionconcert from this port where, between 1845and 1860, over 2.5 million people sailed toAmerica. If you had an ancestor who camefrom Ireland to America, chances are theydeparted from this very place. Find yourfamily name on the archived passenger listsand take time to view the touching letters,photographs, and other memorabilia ondisplay. Day 6‐ Galway, Limerick and Bunratty CastleThe Galway Cathedral of St. Nicholas and OurLady Assumed into Heaven was consecratedin 1965 and is constructed in an amazingvariety of architectural styles alsoincorporating some unusual mosaics. A hugelypopular destination, even Presidents Kennedy

and Reagan have visited this cathedral. Thereis even a stone tablet in the gardencommemorating the visit by PresidentKennedy. Leave your mark on this historicplace as you perform a short mission concertfor travelers gathered here. Travel throughthe enchanting Irish countryside, an ever‐changing patchwork of green and dotted withruins, to Bunratty Castle, near the town ofLimerick. Bunratty is Ireland’s most completeand authentic, elaborately furnished medievalcastle. The Folk Park also contains more than20 replicas of rural and urban houses, as theywould have appeared in the late 19th century.

Day 7‐ Connemara and Kylemore AbbeyToday, travel to through the ConnemaraRegion, famous for its rugged scenery and theTwelve Pins Mountains. Day 8‐ Clonmacnoice and DublinVisit Clonmacnoice, an important monasticsite and the burial place of kings. Amongthese fascinating ruins are the famousthousand‐year‐old cross and the mostimportant collection of tombstones in thecountry. Explore the cathedral and some ofthe eight churches nearby. There are tworound towers to capture your imagination aswell as three high crosses, two hundredgraves and the ruins of a 13th century ring‐fort. But it is the 10‐foot South Cross, with itsPassion carvings, which best testifies to thehigh level of artistic craftsmanship employedhere. Continue on to Dublin for an evening, ofrest and relaxation.

Day 9‐ Monasterboice, Mellifont Abbey and SlaneOn a hill outside the village of Slane, St. Patricklit the paschal fire in 433 and proclaimed thearrival of Christianity in Ireland. A few milesaway is Monasterboice where among theremnants of this 5th century monasticsettlement are two of Ireland’s mostimpressive Celtic Crosses. Now head toMellifont Abbey, Ireland’s f irst Cistercianmonastery founded by St. Malachy ofArmagh. Day 1 and 2‐ Depart the USA and arrive in the Holy LandYour spiritual pilgrimage begins as you departthe USA on an overnight flight. You will bewelcomed to the Holy Land by our airportrepresentative and transferred to your hotel. Be sure to rest up so you can fully prepare forthis amazingly educational and meaningfulexperience!

Day 3‐ Jericho, Qumran and BethlehemTravel to Jericho and visit the ruins of theancient city, which was conquered by JoshuaFrom Jericho, you can see the traditional siteof the Temptation of Jesus. Even today, theroad from Jericho to Jerusalem twists formiles as it climbs from below sea level into theJudean mountains. Jesus traveled on thenearby Roman road, the setting of His parableof the Good Samaritan. Travel to Qumran, siteof the Dead Sea Scroll discovery, to discussthe mysterious community of Essenes whoonce lived on the shores of the Dead Sea. InBethlehem, you’ll visit the cave revered as theplace where Jesus was born. The church,which was constructed on the site, is theworld’s oldest functioning church. Nearbyyou’ll view Shepherds’ Field where the GoodNews was first heard.

Day 4‐ Nazareth and the GalileeVisit Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home. Travelto Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry inthe Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands onthe site where Jesus taught and recall histeaching and preaching the gospel of thekingdom. With Bible in hand, cross the watersof the Sea of Galilee aboard a Kinneret SailingCompany boat. Along the way, participate ina special on‐board worship service. AtKibbutz Nof Ginnosar, you’ll learn about the“Ancient Boat”, a rare example of the kind ofboat in which Jesus would have sailed. Travelto the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesuspreached to the people and at the RiverJordan you will be reminded of His baptism atthe Yardenit Baptismal Site.

Day 5‐ Beit Shean, Megiddo, Caesarea, and Mt. Carmel Visit the ruins of Beit Shean, which wascontinuously inhabited for 5000 years andwas one of the Roman cities Jesus passed onhis way from Galilee to Jerusalem. Travel theancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo where20 different cities lie superimposed upon eachother. Visit the Roman Aqueduct and Theatreat Caesarea, a center of the early Christians.Here, Cornelius became the f irst Gentileconvert to the new religion and Paul wasimprisoned before being taken to Rome fortrial. At Mt. Carmel, where Elijah defeated theBaal prophets you’ll visit the monastery at thetop of the mountain.

Day 6‐ JerusalemVisit the Haas Promenade and enjoy apanoramic view of the city from the South.View the Old City walls and the hill calledMount Moriah where Abraham wascommanded by God to offer Isaac as a burntoffering. View the Kidron Valley and the Valleyof Gehenna. Stand atop the Mount of Olivesas Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view ofthe “Golden City” of Jerusalem, including theTemple Mount and Dome of the Rock. Fortydays after his resurrection, Jesus ascendedinto heaven from this very place. Visit theChapel of the Ascension. Ride the cable car to the top toexplore and from there, peer down upon theremains of the Roman camps and siege rampbelow. Day 2‐ Arrive and Travel to AssisiOnce you are met by your Tour Conductor youwill travel to Assisi for dinner and overnight.

Day 3‐ AssisiIn the morning you will visit the town of Assisi.This charming medieval town was the home ofSt. Francis. Just two years after his death, thelarge Basilica was started in his memory. At onetime, the land on which the church stands was anexecution ground for condemned criminals. Inhis humility, St. Francis asked to be buried thereand it became known as the Hill of Paradise. Thechurch contains his tomb and many great worksof art. Visits to the Inferiore and SuperioreBasilica, Santa Chiara Church, and St. Mary of theAngels Basilica are included. In the afternoon, thechoir will have time to rehearse for this evening’sconcert. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 4‐ VeniceAfter breakfast depart Assisi in the morning anddrive toward Venice. Upon arriving in Mestre youwill travel by boat to the magical city of Venice.Rising between sea and sky, this fascinating cityboasts waterways and boats instead of roadsand cars, encompassing 118 islands separated bymore than 150 canals. You will stand in the PiazzaSan Marco, bordered on three sides by palatialarcades in two tiers and faced on the other by theBasilica of St. Mark, one of the world's mostmagnificent churches. You'll visit the Basilica withits treasure of marble and gold‐backgroundmosaics. From the square, you can see thefamous Bell Tower and the Clock Tower, as wellas the charming pink and white Doge’s Palace.View the romantic Bridge of Sighs and muchmore while enjoying your free time to explorethis great city. You can shop, stroll along thebridges and canals or, perhaps, indulge in agondola ride along the Grand Canal.

Day 5‐ MontecatiniAfter breakfast, you will depart Venice andtransfer to Ravennna‐Montecatini. Upon arrivalin Montecatini the choir will perform a concert inthe afternoon in a local church or Mission Venue.The rest of the day is at leisure in one of the mostfamous health resorts in Italy. Situated amongancient thermal springs, this peaceful town alsoboasts a railway built in 1857 to connectMontecatini with the beautiful medieval hilltopvillage overlooking the city. This peaceful retreatwas popular with classical musicians as well.Verdi, Puccini and Rossini spent time composinghere. Dinner will be provided at the hotel or at alocal restaurant.

Day 6‐ FlorenceThis morning you’ll enjoy a day in Florence full oftouring and performing. The elegant city ofFlorence is nestled between a line of hills and thebanks of the Arno River. During your stay, you willhave time to enjoy the beautiful gardens and

stroll through the open‐air markets. Every street,every square and winding alley of Florence is ashowcase for Romanesque, Gothic andRenaissance grandeur. Among the wealth ofmasterpieces to be found in Florence, you'll seethe Piazza della Signoria with its NeptuneFountain and Vecchio Palace, the Santa Maria delFiore Cathedral which houses Michelangelo'sunfinished Pietá, the Baptistery containingGhiberti's famous Gates of Paradise and theAcademy where you can view some ofMichelangelo's finished and unfinished work,including the awe‐inspiring David. Day 9‐ Vatican City and Ancient RomeAfter breakfast, you will depart to visit theVatican, the Eternal City! Day 5‐ London, Stonehenge, and BathToday you will visit Stonehenge and view theunusual and unique rock formations foundhere. At the largest and most well known ofthe European Megalith monuments, spendsome time investigating for yourself as to thereal purpose of the mysterious stones. Then,you will press on for an exploration of God’sgreat wonder in the city of Bath. Here you willexperience what citizens of the 18th centurywere able to enjoy, the natural heated pools ofwater called baths. While in Bath you will visitthe Roman Baths and view the Ancient Templeand museum. The afternoon will be at yourleisure.

Day 6‐ Canterbury and Paris Depart today for Canterbury for a visit and toperform today's concert. Enjoy a stroll aroundthis picturesque town and visit the CanterburyCathedral. After today's local performance, say“bonjour!” to France as you arrive in Calais viathe famous Chunnel.

You have arrived in one of theworld’s most beautiful countries, inhabited byhardy, friendly people with a ready smile.Today you may want to rest or start exploringlively Oslo on your own.

Day 3‐ Oslo and Lillehammer This morning you will motor north throughthe undulating lowland area where Norway’smost fertile, arable land yields crops of barley,wheat, and oats. After a picture stop atEidsvoll, where the country’s democraticconstitution was signed in 1814, proceed alonglovely Lake Mjösa. Via the ice‐skating centerof Hamar you reach Lillehammer, proud hostof the 1994 Winter Olympics. Time here forlunch and a leisurely walk along Storgata.Lunch will be provided. Continue your exploration witha drive along Princes Street to the Sir WalterScott Monument.

Day 4‐ EdinburghOnce again, you will experience Edinburgh lifefirsthand as you visit the historic John KnoxHouse, where the Reformer resided. Descendthe Royal Mile to the Palace of Holyroodwhere John Knox confronted Mary Queen ofScots. Just outside Edinburgh is Haddington,where John Knox was born and raised.Although the house itself is not open to thepublic, you can still enjoy the Gardens ofHaddington House. Today you will performyour first concert. Return to Edinburgh areafor dinner and overnight.

Day 5‐ St. Andrews and PerthTravel along the coastal route pastpicturesque fishing villages to St. Andrews,the ancient Ecclesiastical Capital of Scotland.Visit the ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral andthe nearby castle with its notorious "BottleDungeon" where Knox and Reformers wereheld prisoner. You’ll not want to miss a look atthe famous "Old Course" of St. Andrews,renowned as the Birthplace of Golf! Today wewill perform a mission concert. Continue toPerth area for overnight.

Day 6‐ Perth, Loch Lommond and MullThis morning you will visit St. John’s Church inPerth, where Knox preached in May of 1559and fanned the flame of the Reformation. Thebeautiful countryside of Scotland will enchantyou as you take the high road to LochLommond. Here, you will have a boat ride onthis loch made famous by the song, "TheBonny Banks of Loch Lommond". Continue toOban, where you will board a ferry to the Isleof Mull. Dinner and overnight on the Isle ofMull.

Day 7‐ IonaA short ferry ride will bring you to this quietand peaceful Isle of Iona, the resting place formany Scottish Kings. An entire day is yours toexplore the rich spiritual history of Iona. Asyou visit the Abbey and shrine, you will beginto understand why Iona is thought of as aplace of spiritual power. Day 8‐ Inveraray and Glasgow and ConcertA delightful ride takes you to the famousInveraray Castle, home of the 12th Duke ofArgyll and seat of Clan Campbell. After yourvisit to the castle, you’ll continue to Glasgow,the commercial capital of Scotland. Glasgow iswell‐endowed with Victorian architecture.You’ll visit the Glasgow Cathedral, dedicatedto St. Mungo. Day 9‐ GlasgowThis morning you will continue your tour ofthe city of Glasgow. In the afternoon you willperform your last concert. Day 2‐ Arrive in MadridUpon arrival in Madrid you will participate inan orientation city tour. Transfer to the hotelfor dinner and overnight.

Day 3‐ MadridAfter breakfast, the choir will hold its firstrehearsal. After lunch, you will tour the city ofMadrid. You will see Espana Square, Puertadel Sol, Cortes Square, Neptune Fountain,Prado Museum, Cibeles Square, Alcala Street,Gran Via, and the Royal Palace. After a fullafternoon of sightseeing, you will return tothe hotel to have dinner.

Day 4‐ Madrid and AvilaAfter breakfast the choir will drive to Avila, awonderfully well‐preserved Middle Agewalled city. You will visit the Cathedral Avila.Continue to Segovia, and see the famousRoman aqueduct and visit the Alcazar and theCathderal, Segovia. As you return to the hotel,visit La Granja to see the palace and itsgardens. Return to Hotel for dinner andovernight. Tonight you will perform a concertin one of the many venues: the Basilica of St.Migual, Parroquia San Manuel y San Benito, LaAlumenda Cathedral, Nuestra Senora, KingsChapel in the Royal Palace, or the Iglesia deSan Marcos for the local community.

Day 5‐ ToledoToday you depart Madrid and drive to Toledo.On foot you will walk through its narrowstreets and visit the cathedral, Church of St.Thomas, and the synagogue of Santa Maria LaBlanca. Transfer to Granada for dinner andovernight. Perform a concert of hope andencouragement to those in need as you singat a mission venue in Toledo. Day 6‐ GranadaAfter breakfast you will visit the Alhambraconsisting of the Moorish palace and gardens.Visit the Royal chapel and the most importantrenaissance cathedral of Spain. You will alsovisit the Generalife, the former country andresidence of the sultans of Granada and thencontinue to Torremolinos for dinner andovernight.

Day 7‐ SevilleAfter breakfast, you will drive through thestreets of the city to Maria Luisa Park, Plaza deAmerica, and Plaza de Espana. Day 1‐ TravelDepart the US and board your overnight flightto Switzerland. Make sure to get lots of rest asyou dream of your Alpine adventure!

Day 2‐ Arrive in SwitzerlandArrive in Zurich, Switzerland. Upon transfer tothe hotel, the choir will participate in a cityorientation tour. Arrive at hotel for dinner andovernight.

Day 3‐ Rehearsal and EngelbergThis morning, the choir will participate in arehearsal. After rehearsal, become betteracquainted with the delights of Engelberg asyou explore this wonderful village on yourown. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided visit atthe Benedictine Monastery, founded in 1140.You'll see the monastery's famous pipe organ,the largest in Switzerland, and enjoy a specialconcert. Return to the hotel for dinner andovernight.

Day 4‐ Mount TitlisAfter breakfast you will perform your firstconcert of the tour in the EngelbergBenedictine Monastery or similar for the localcommunity during morning mass. After theconcert, enjoy a gondola ride up to MountTitlis. Enjoy a trip up Mt. Titlis via the world'sfirst revolving aerial cable car. It's a 45‐minutejourney via 3 different cable cars that take youfrom the green valley bottom to atop a highalpine glacier. On top, you can enjoy a walkthrough the ice grotto, take an inner‐tube rideon the snow, or sip a cup of hot chocolate inthe mountain top panorama restaurant. Laterin the day, you will transfer to Lucerne fordinner and overnight.

Day 5‐ LucerneToday you will visit the city of Lucerne. The14th century city wall, boasting nine differentwatchtowers, is one of the best‐preservedand longest fortif ications in Europe. Thecolorful painted panels of Lucerne's famouswooden Kappel Bridge depict the city'shistory. See the twin towered Jesuit Churchthat is one of the most handsome baroquebuildings in Switzerland. For comparison, visitthe Hofkirche, built in the Renaissance style,and the Franciscan Church that was built inthe high Gothic style. You'll also view the sadand famous Lion Monument of Lucerne whichMark Twain called the most mournful andmoving piece of stone in the world. Carvedout of a sheer sandstone cliff, it depicts adying lion, his chin sagging on his shield.

Day 6‐ Interlaken and BrienzAfter breakfast, travel to Interlaken, the heartof Switzerland. Flower‐lined streets and thesurrounding mountains will be familiarpostcard images to you. Also familiar will bethe towering nearby peaks of the Jungfrau,Eiger and Monch. You'll travel across

incredible Swiss mountain ranges; catchglimpses of glaciers and travel throughbreathtaking mountains. Your journey ends atthe charming town of Brienz where delicatewoodcarvings are traditional and even thehouses seem hand‐carved. Return to the hotelfor dinner and overnight.

Day 7‐ ZurichStart your day with a drive to Zurich whereyou will perform a morning mission concert.After the concert enjoy a guided tour ofZurich. You'll stroll through the colorfulcobblestone streets of the Old Town and seethe Fraumunster and Grossmunster Minstersthat face each other across the river Limmat.Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8‐ Bern and Emmental ValleyToday you will enjoy the picture perfectcapital of Switzerland. With sandstonebuildings, historic towers and uniquefountains, Bern is one of the finest examplesof medieval architecture in Europe and islisted as a World Heritage Site. The city'sappearance has remained virtually unchangedfor centuries. The river Aare snakes roundBern's Old Town where 6 kilometers ofarcades ‐ the longest covered shoppingpromenades in Europe ‐ offer a variety ofdelightful restaurants, cafés and colorfulmarkets. The city is famous for its bears, bothas a tourist attraction and as Bern's Coat ofArms. The town is also famous as the placewhere Einstein developed his special theory ofrelativity and where Tobler created his world‐famous Toblerone chocolate. Travel throughthe most beautiful Emmental Valley, home ofthe famous cheese. You will have a chance toenjoy a sample and learn how the famousEmmental Cheese is made when you visit acheese factory. Day 2‐ Arrive in EnglandYour Wesley Heritage travel study programbegins as our representative greets you outsidethe baggage claim area. Your first view will be ofWestminster Abbey where royalty arechristened, married and buried. You will visit St.Paul's Cathedral where John Wesley oftenworshipped. On the day of his conversion,Wesley came here for an afternoon service andwas deeply moved by the choir's anthem, "Out ofthe Deep Have I Called Unto Thee, O Lord".Afternoon arrival at your hotel and dinner.

Day 3‐ London and BirminghamExperience the lifestyle of our British friends asyou explore the vibrant town of London. You'llbe impressed with the regal adornment ofBuckingham Palace. Drive by the major city sitessuch as Marble Arch, Speakers Corner of HydePark, Trafalgar Square and much more. JohnWesley left his mark on the town of London.You'll have a lecture at City Road Chapel, site ofWesley's home and grave. Across the street inBunhill Fields Cemetery, Susanna Wesley isburied along with other famous personages suchas John Bunyan and Daniel Defoe. You'll walk onAldersgate Street where on May 24, 1738, JohnWesley had his "Warming of the Heart"experience. You'll walk past the entrance of"Little Britain" where Charles Wesley had hisconversion experience just three days earlier. Inthe late afternoon, you will depart for theMidlands area, where you will spend the nextseven nights at a first class hotel.

Day 4‐ Bristol, Bath and CheddarIn the ancient port city of Bristol, you'll have alecture in one of Wesley's early centers ofministry, the "New Room". This is the oldestMethodist building in the world and is unusuallyattractive in its basic simplicity. Then visit thehome of Charles Wesley, the famous hymnwriter. Bath, a spa town of Roman origin,deserves its name. Since the first century, thewarm waters have refreshed and healed. You'llsee the unique Roman baths and enjoy thisbeautiful city of 18th century streets and quaintshops. Participate in a lunchtime concert at BathAbbey for visitors assembled there. Afterwards,travel just outside of town to the area thatinspired the hymn "For the Beauty of the Earth".Hang on tight as you ride along a twisting, turningroad cut through towering limestone cliffs. This isCheddar Gorge, a true natural wonder thatinspired A.M. Toplady to write the famous hymn"Rock of Ages".

Day 5‐ Coventry and BirminghamThe evening of November 14, 1940, a holocaustof bombs and fire destroyed much of Coventry.Experience the pain and the triumph of thetownspeople when you visit the beautifulcathedral. The charred ruins of the old cathedralsit next to the exciting architecture of themodern cathedral. They stand together as a

tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Britishpeople. Celebrate this triumphal spirit with anafternoon concert in Coventry Cathedral. InBirmingham, you'll visit the boyhood home ofFrancis Asbury. Sent to America by Wesley,Asbury became the first elected bishop of theAmerican Methodist Church.

Day 6‐ Worcester and GloucesterOn the banks of the River Severn stands the greatsandstone Cathedral of Worcester. Worcesterwas home to Frances Havergal, author of "TakeMy Life and Let it Be", whose father was aclergyman here. You will have an opportunity tovisit the Royal Worcester porcelain shops. Thecity of Gloucester boasts a small church thatchanged the world! Here you'll learn aboutGeorge Whitefield, who grew up in thecongregation of St. Mary de Crypt. He was atOxford with the Wesley brothers and became anardent member of their Holy Club. Known as thegreatest orator of his day, George Whitefield'stalents led him to minister in America. St. Mary deCrypt also produced Robert Raikes, founder ofthe Sunday School movement. Both Whitefieldand Raikes had a profound influence uponWesley. Wesley left his fellowship at LincolnCollege to take over Whitefield's Bristol ministry,leading to the founding of the "New Room". Healso embraced Raikes Sunday School movement.At St. Mary de Crypt, the first Women's Societywas founded.

Day 7‐ EpworthThe quiet English countryside and green, rollinghills will delight you as you travel to remoteEpworth in the Fen Country. Here Samuel andSusanna Wesley raised their brood of children inthe Old Rectory while he served the ParishChurch for 39 years. You'll become familiar withthe upbringing and early life of John and CharlesWesley when you visit their childhood home.You'll see Memorial Church, built withcontributions from around the world. Then visitSt. Andrews Church at Epworth and prepare foryour formal evening concert here.

Day 8‐ Cotswolds, Bourton‐on‐the‐Water,Broadway, Stow‐on‐the‐WoldExplore the charming villages of the Cotswolds,where honey colored cottages cluster togetherin secluded valleys. Even the names are charming‐‐ Stow‐on‐the‐Wold, Bourton‐on‐the‐Water.Complete this storybook day with an EnglishCream Tea or a visit to some of the quaint shopsin Broadway, where the tale of Peter Pan waswritten.

Day 9‐ Stratford and OxfordYou'll glimpse life as it was in the day of WilliamShakespeare when you visit his birthplace inStratford‐upon‐Avon. Day 1 & 2‐ Depart USA and Arrive Greece Your trans‐Atlantic flight will take place in the eveningand you will arrive in Athens on the following day. Youwill be met in Athens by our representative and will betransferred to your hotel for dinner and a relaxingevening.Day 3 Athens‐ The architectural splendors of thisancient city are as magical as ever. Follow your guideon a journey to the world‐renown Acropolis with thefamous Propylaea entrance. See the Parthenon,Erectheum, Mars Hill, the Agora (ancient market placeand center of Athenian public life), the House ofParliament, Presidential Palace and the Tomb of theUnknown Soldier. This afternoon you are free toexplore Athens on your own.Day 4‐ Olympos Mountains and Thermopylae Pass Your journey continues in the shadow of the OlymposMountains through the beautiful and historic Greekcountryside. Travel via the Thermopylae Pass, whosename still stirs the modern Greek heart. Here, 400 yearsbefore Christ, 300 Spartans stood against 30,000Persians. The heroic Spartans are said to be buried in amound, which is still visible today.Day 5‐ Amphipolis, Philippi and Neapolis Like Paul and Silas, you’ll travel to Amphipolis, where

you will see the ruins of many Christian basilicas. InPhilippi, visit the site where Paul was moved to preachhis first evangelical sermon to women who hadgathered at the river. There he baptized Lydia, a clothmerchant, to become the first Christian baptized onEuropean soil. You’ll also see a crypt dating from theRoman period, which is thought to have served as aprison for Paul. You’ll see the famous Acropolis, theMarket Place, Basilica and the Theatre. You will visitNeapolis (Kavalla), Greece’s most picturesquemainland port. Paul landed here with his disciples,Timothy and Silas. View the Old City Ramparts, theGalerius Arch that rises over the Via Egnatia, and theArchaeological Museum. See two of the most beautifulbasilicas in the city, St. Sophia and St. Demetrios,dedicated to a distinguished member of the Romanarmy and a martyred Christian convert. Day 7‐ Meteora and Delphi Visit the rock forest of Meteora in western Thessaly

and ponder the rough terrain through which theapostle Paul walked during his missionary journey. Seethe famous Byzantine monasteries perchedprecariously on summits of soaring, sheer‐sided greyrock pinnacles. Visit one of these monasteries andenjoy learning about their history which dates back tothe 14th century. Travel to scenic Delphi, the religiouscenter of the ancient Greek world, considered by earlyGreeks to be the center of the world and marked bythe conical stone, called the omphalos or navel. Walkthe Sacra Via to the Athenian Treasury, the Theatre,and the Temple of Apollo where the oracle performedprophetic rituals. With innumerable pagan ruinssurrounding your walk, capture a glimpse of thechallenge the apostle Paul encountered as he soughtto preach the Gospel of Christ in Macedonia. Visit theMuseum where you will view many ancient treasures,the chief of which is the 5th century bronzedCharioteer, complete with even eyelashes.

Day 8‐ Corinth and Cenchraeae In Corinth, the city that inspired many of Paul’s mostfamiliar letters, you will visit the ArchaeologicalMuseum, the Market Place, the Bema and Temples.After a touching farewell to the people of Corinth, Paultraveled across the plain to the harbor of Cenchraeaefrom which he embarked for Ephesus.Day 9‐ Mykonos Cruise This morning, you will board the ship and sail the bluewaters of the Aegean Sea. In the evening, you willarrive at the world‐famous Greek Island of Mykonos,where gleaming whitewashed buildings seem to climbatop each other to reach the azure sky.Day 10‐ Ephesus and Patmos Cruise This morning, you will arrive in Kusadasi, Turkey, andwill journey to Ephesus where Paul spent three yearsduring his ministry. The ruins of Ephesus, the marblecity, have been restored much as the city was in Paul’stime. You will visit the Agora and imagine whereDemetrius, the silversmith, sold his silver shrines of theGreek goddess Artemis. Enter the great theater andhave a worship service in the place where Paulwitnessed faithfully for Christ. Not far away is thestadium where chariot races took place and gladiatorialcombats were held. Tradition has it that Paul himselffought here against wild beasts. Visit the ruins of St.John’s Basilica where early Christian tradition tells usthe "disciple whom Jesus loved" was buried. Plus, youwill see one of the "Seven Wonders of the AncientWorld", the ruins of the Temple of Diana (Artemis).Next, set sail for Island of Patmos. Once there, you willvisit the Monastery of St. John, high on the mountainoverlooking the entire island. Walk down to the Grottoof the Apocalypse and the caves where the exiledApostle John lived and was inspired by God to write theBook of Revelation as well as other letters to the earlychurch.Day 11‐ Rhodes Cruise Fleeing Jerusalem, the crusaders known as the Knightsof St. John settled on the Island of Rhodes. You will seethe castles and the old city they built which still impressvisitors. The knights lasted for two centuries until theyplundered one too many Muslim pilgrim ships,enraging Suleiman the Magnificent who lost 50thousand men in his successful bid to take the island.Day 12‐ Crete and Santorini HERAKLION (CRETE): 7:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Heraklion,the capital of Crete, was the center of the great MinoanCivilization that flourished in the Bronze Age andabruptly ended with the eruption of the volcano ofSantorini. Enjoy an excursion to the incredible ruins ofthe Palace of Knossos, which was discovered in 1899by Sir Arthur Evans and partially reconstructed.
