Biography

Thomas Weber (German) is a co-founder and Managing Partner of LGT Capital Partners

Ltd. Mr. Weber is the CIO/Head of Hedge Fund Investment Management, chairs LGT Capital

Partners Ltd.’s Alternative Investment Committee and is a portfolio manager for multi-

alternatives and hedge fund portfolios.

After working in Switzerland as a management consultant, Mr. Weber joined LGT Bank AG in

1989 as an Assistant to the Chairman and Project Manager. In 1991, Mr. Weber moved to the

Portfolio Management Division as Head of Methods and Marketing. In this function, he was

responsible for improving and developing the investment process, launching new investment

products as well as managing a portion of the global equities portfolio. In 1996, Mr. Weber

co-founded LGT’s third-party hedge fund activities.

Mr. Weber completed his intermediate examination in business administration at the University

of Cologne and received an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University in 1986 (which he

earned as a Fulbright Scholar). In 1989, he obtained a PhD in Business Administration from

the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, where he lectured from 1990 to 1994 on a

part-time basis. He is fluent in English and German.
