In the wake of the current pandemic, BBNC is

committed to ensuring regular communication

with participants, members, volunteers, staff and

the greater community.

At this time, it is important for everyone to

protect themselves, their families and home!

For BBNC, this also means educating ourselves

and others in order to have as current information

as possible. BBNC will take every measure to

ensure that we access this information and pass

this along to you the membership.

On March 13th, the City of Toronto made the

announcement of the closure of all city run

community and recreation centres.

As BBNC is located within a city community

centre, Birchmount Community Centre,

Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre (BBNC)

is impacted by this closure.

A summary of that announcement is below:

Based on recommendations from Toronto’s

Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Eileen de

Villa, to help slow the rate of COVID-19

infection in Toronto and protect vulnerable

populations including seniors, people with

compromised immune systems, and

individuals experiencing homelessness, the

City of Toronto has cancelled most City-

operated programs and closed a number of

City facilities.

Services and facility operations are

tentatively scheduled to resume Sunday,

April 5.

We encourage you to reach out with any

questions or concerns. Please email

[email protected]. This email is monitored

regularly and will be responded to as soon as

possible.

We thank you for your commitment to the health of the community and encourage everyone to wash your hands and practice social distancing.

endeavours.

The board of directors is moving forward with a

anticipate that the new addition to the team will be

in place by May.

We thank you all for your patience and

understanding as we go through this transition

period.
