new meaning.Prefix meanings:

"re" - again"un" - not"dis" - not

Example: "pack" is a verb that means to put things away in a container, like a suitcase. If we add the prefix "un" to the beginning of

pack, we get "unpack." This means to not pack or take out of the suitcase what we placed in

the suitcase.

What is it?Cinco de Mayo celebrates a special victory for Mexico. Cinco de Mayo means "the fifth of May." People in the United States and Mexico celebrate this day.The Battle of Puebla:Long ago, France wanted to rule Mexico. A battle broke out in Puebla, Mexico, on May 5, 1862. The Mexican army fought hard and defeated the French.French and Mexican Conflict:The Mexican president made Cinco de Mayo a holiday. The Mexicans and the French continued to fight for several years. By 1867, the fighting was over.Cinco de Mayo in Mexico:In Mexico, people celebrate Cinco de Mayo with dancing and singing. There are parades and speeches. They watch fireworks at night.
