BIRTHDAY CAKES
As a school community we are unable to monitor the handing out of cake
within individual classrooms. It is a very special day for your
child and often parents like to bring in cakes to share with
classmates. However, we would ask that cakes were not
brought into the school and that an alternative like a fruit
platter to support healthy eating was chosen. We also have a
number of students with dietary needs and cakes and sugary foods don't sup-
port these requirements.
WISHING YOU ALL A SAFE
AND HAPPY EASTER BREAK
SEE YOU ALL IN TERM 2
ON TUESDAY 30TH APRIL
EASTER HAT PARADE
Our annual Easter Hat Parade will be taking place this Friday at 10.15am at
the front concreted area of the school. Our Easter Raffle will be drawn on this
day which will help support the School Representative Council (SRC) in rais-
ing funds for future school projects. Please return raffle money by Friday
morning and bring in EGG DONATIONS for the Easter Hampers to support our
SRC.
PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO ENTER THE EASTER HAT PARADE
THIS YEAR! Parent entries in the Easter Hat Parade will be something new
we are introducing this year. So, if you are a parent/carer and wish
to participate in the Easter Hat Parade, you can make your own hat creation
and come and parade with US! The best parent/carer entry will receive a prize
also!
The SRC thanks you in helping support this event and we look forward to your
attendance on the day. Classes will resume as normal after recess.
POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING
We have had a busy term implementing PBL lessons into Circle Time and PDH lessons to develop understanding of the three core values we have at Kem-blawarra: Respect - Safe - Responsible.
We will continue to work on upholding these values when moving and using
different areas in our environment as we learn the expectations of other out-
side areas of our school which will be covered throughout the rest of the
year.

HB3 CLASSROOM NEWS
We studied the story ‘Mutt Dog’ by Stephen Mi-
chael King.
After 3 reads, we had a discussion about the
characters, the setting and the plot of the story.
We looked at the messages within the story like
belonging and discussed these too.
Before we write about a text we plan by compos-
ing a visual representation of our story.
This is part of the writing/composition process.
We plan using pictures and words that will help
us tell our stories better.
This are some of our plans for the text ‘Mutt Dog’.
