Create Question Pool Import Pool into Bb Make Test Assign to Students

I. Enter your questions into the text window. These can be typed directly into this window or copied and pasted. See the syntax you need to use for different question types. Name your quiz and click the create quiz button. Once created, you’ll save the .zip file by clicking the “Package is available here:” button.

II. In a Blackboard course, go to the Control Panel Assessment section (middle of the right side) and select Pool Manager. In Pool Manager, select Import. Find the .zip file and import it. Examview allows you to export pools of question for importing into Blackboard.

III. In the Pool Manager, click the Modify button behind the pool of questions you just imported. This allows you to change the name of the pool, edit the instructions, view individual questions, edit questions if needed, or add additional questions (17 different types.)

IV. Make the test. Control Panel Assessment section and select Test Manager. Click the Add a Test button to begin the process. Give it a name and if desired, a description and/or instructions. Once created, click Modify to add questions from the Pool. Click the Add and find From a Question Pool or Assessment near the bottom of the list. Find the pool you created and select All to use all question types. You can assign point values or use the default (click on Creation Settings link in Test Canvas window. More than one pool may be selected at one time by holding down the CTRL key. Check the questions you want to use or Select All. Click Submit. Review the questions, modify if needed, and click OK.

V. Make the test available to students. Decide where the test should be kept, e.g. in an Assessment folder or in an Assignments folder? Go into the Edit view for that section or folder and Click the Add Test button. Find the test you created and Submit. IMPORTANT – to make the test available to students you must make it available. Click the Modify the Test options link. Under option #2 is “Make the link available”. When you are read for the test to be seen by students, set this to Yes. There are a number of other test options to consider setting in this window. The test is now available for students to take. If you set scores to be recorded, they will automatically be entered into the grade book. You may take the test to see how it looks and works, however, your scores will not be recorded unless you exit and log in as a student.
