Wow, what a change in weather we have seen from the nice warm days of the Gold Coast to the brisk, fresh mornings and icy days of the Liverpool Plains! We certainly realise we are back! With this sudden change in weather, comes the need for all children to come to school wearing jumpers and winter uniform. Please assist us in ensuring that all jumpers and jackets have your child’s name in them, so we can return them to their rightful owner in case they are misplaced during the day. It has also been amazing to see the students making an effort to wear their full winter uniform including ties and hats. We often get comments about how smart our uniform looks, and it is pleasing to see students taking pride in their school. Many of these items are for sale at the school if you require to purchase any of them. Thank you to all those who attended our P and C meeting this week. You all need to be commended on the time and effort you make for our students. It is humbling to know we all want the very best for our kids and I thank you for all that you do for our school. Term 3 is looking to be an incredibly busy term, so please enjoy the next few weeks before the holidays! Cross Country

Congratulations to Darcy who represented our school and the North West area at

Regional Cross Country last Friday. By all reports, Darcy ran very well and finished 44th in his

age group. A tremendous result!

Genius hour

Thanks to Val who taught Genius hour last week.

Students learnt how to tie shirts with rubber bands

and then tie dyed them to reveal a myriad of colours

and patterns. The end result was spectacular and

students were very excited about seeing their final

result.

Visit from our School Director

On Wednesday 13th June, Mr Mark Young, Director Educational Leadership of the Mooki

Network, visited our school to discuss our short and long term goals in line with our 2018-2020

School Plan. It is a credit to both our staff and students that we exceed expected growth in

both NAPLAN and L3 data and are well above the state average for growth in these areas.

P and C meeting.

Our next P and C meeting will be held on Wednesday 25th July at 3:00pm. All welcome!

Blackville Arts and Market Day

Royal Far West

This year we have engaged in weekly video conferencing with Royal Far West in Manly.

This program has enabled some our students to source specialists who support them with

various language needs. It demonstrates that isolation is no barrier and we thank Royal Far

West for their continued support of our students. I would also like to thank Mrs Bell who

monitors the program each week and further supports our students with revision and

additional support.

Managing the Bull

Each Thursday for the past few weeks, Tash from Tamworth Family Support Services has

run a resilience program for our students. This week students had to design and test how they

could best support an egg using marshmallows, straws and cotton wool, all signifying various

strengths in their lives. Next week we celebrate the end of the unit, whereby students

present their posters and discuss what they have learnt. Please feel free to join us on the day

with a morning tea and informal gathering. Please bring a plate to share.
