A collection of news items and information

for the Villa and Apartment Residents of

Kerrisdale Gardens

Hello Everyone

Kerrisdale Gardens Market Day was a great success in August. The weather was awful to start, but it turned out to be a beautiful day. Lots of stalls, lots of people, the Radio station with a live broadcast, sausage sizzle and café delights all made a huge contribution to the success on the day. To our Villa and Apartment Residents, Vanessa, Gus, Ashton, Gavin Rasmussen and everyone else who gave up their Saturday morning to help – We THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We will certainly be looking at another Market Day next year some time when it gets a little cooler.

Kerrisdale Gardens welcomed new residents in Villas 17, 22, 26 and Villa 24 prior

to Christmas. Our wonderful community is expanding also welcoming a lady in

Apartment 302.

The lunches on Level 3 are working well, along with the extra services we are now

providing for some residents by our Personal Care Assistants – Leanne and Brittnee.

These ladies are assisting Apartment and Villa Residents with showering, cleaning,

changing dressings and other duties as required. This seems to be working well and

once again we are fortunate to have caring dedicated staff.

Kerrisdale Estate have been busy with their next stage of development. Now the road is nearing

completion, work should slow up and dust will die down.

City Funerals Visit

On September 24th we had Chris Ashmore from City

Funerals visit. This is always an interesting information

session and one that we all need to keep in mind as we age.

Chris brings a little humour into his talks which keeps

everyone entertained, as a lot of people find the discussion

on funerals a little difficult and overwhelming.

Vision Australia

Vision Australia’s visit in early November was presented by Sharon

Bently, Head of Optometry and Vision Science at QUT.
