COURSE OUTLINE

I want to cut through the clutter to build simple & e�ective lesson plans. We are not learning the entire photography. There are lot of features in photography some you might use every day others much less often, so why to learn entire game?

You’re going to be on your feet for a few hours, at least. Wear supportive shoes, weather appropriate clothing, & dress in layers in case you need to warm up or cool o�. Please bring some props like umbrella or balloons, or sunglass or any accessory that you would like to capture. Things that describe you. For example, if you are a traveller you may bring map, torch, bags. If you are into music, you may carry headphone, music instrument or just anything.

At the end of the walk, take pride in the new discoveries that you have made.

Requirements: iPhone or Camera or mobile phone. Don't worry if you are not havingheavy-duty camera. Look for any device that can capture images.

CLASS 1 | DURATION: 2 HOURS

Lesson 1: Composition & basic digital camera techniques. We will discuss what makes a ‘well composed’ picture & then view a large number of photographs to see how they are composed. We will then move o� on location to the to take some shots.

CLASS 2 | DURATION: 2 HOURS

Lesson 2: Lesson 2: Meet on location at 9 am at the Box Park take pictures paying special attention to ‘light’. Pictures of streets, shops & there is often the opportunity to take photos of the local characters in this interesting & busy area. I would provide themes & all would capture pictures accodoring to the theme.

CLASS 3 | DURATION: 2 HOURS

Bring your pictures from the last week & we will discuss them together. Sensitivity (ISO) & exposure modes will be discussed & illustrated with photographs to show what e�ects can be achieved by choosing di�erent sensitivities or exposure modes. Bring your cameras & we will try them out.

CLASS 4 | DURATION: 2 HOURS

Topic overLenses & flash illustrated with lots of pictures & small competition to see the progress.

WHO IS THE TEACHER?A Graphic Designer by profession with a degree in Fine Arts, I stumbled into the world of photography when I realized graphics & photography are two sides of the same coin. Everyone has a story to tell & this could be captured through photographs & graphics.

MOOD BOARDDont jump into the bandwagon & start taking pictures. Put the model at ease over a cup of coffee or an interactive session. Know the person by asking questions such as their favorites poses, colors, movie scenes, what attracts them. Something they always dreamed about Based on discussion, create a mood board (collection of references) to give them an idea of how the pictures would look like after final editing.

LOCATIONLocation can be anything, be it vast desert during winter or you home backyard.

We never blurr the background to focus on model. Life & things around you are so beautiful. Let’s capture eveything.

BASIC PHOTO EFFECTI prefer to do basic photo effect on pictures to give a subtle touch to picture. Basically, a softly contrast & do minimal photo editing. I dont believe in heavy photo-shoping on a picture.

My backgrounds are geneally plain & minimal & avoid multiple colors.

USAGE OF COLORSBright colors, neon & sometimes a a peek inside my pastel world.Be overwhelmed by all the colors of wall as well.

USAGE OF LIGHTSI prefer outdoor or natural lights for my shoots.I like trying to stay within 200-400 ISO when doing outdoor portraiture.

Aerial VIEWMy best way of showing picture is aerial view. Aerial photography is the taking of photographs of the ground from an elevated/direct-down position. Usually the camera is not supported by a ground-based structure.

I enjoy making layouts for aerial view shots or top head shots. Things related to the model. If he/she is a traveller, I try to put things like bag, map, tickets & other travelling related items.

LEVITATION PHOTOGRAPHYI tried my first attempts at levitation photogra-phy & had a lot of fun doing it.
