Background

According to ECPAT international’s 2010 global monitoring report on status of action against commercial sexual exploitation of children in Bangladesh more than 25,000 children live in the 17 registered red light districts of the country. Many of these children are uneducated and deprived from basic human needs, such as nutrition, proper food, primary level education, proper accommodation.

Many NGO’S and other organization are working to solve this problem but these are not enough.

Social and religious factors are also affecting the way of helping these children. Talking about prostitutes and their children is often considered a taboo in many families as a general rule we frown upon them. We almost never try to open our minds to accept the fact that poverty and deception that push some of us in the society into this darkest path, a path from where there is often no return.

Objective:

This project’s vision is to enlighten the little minds of brothel born children with education and new standard of life.

It will be done by:

Providing proper guidance and education to them. Save these children from this caused place and give them shelter. Managing fund to financial backup the NGO’S who are working for them. Strengthening the network among this type of NGO’S and continues to work together.

Main goals of this project

Providing primary education for free into 1000 brothel born children for first three years and then collect others from different places.

Building a shelter center with a capacity of 500 children in first year.

Coordinating with local NGO’S and other organization.

Envisaged Process:

The main reason for choosing Jamalpur district because there are several NGO’S who are working for brothel born children are active here. To success in this area we have to strength linkages with local NGO’S and start searching for children

For this project to be successful the following individuals will be necessary.

Primary teachers. Local NGO’S Workers. Five member survey team. Local health specialist. District official. Some individuals from defense to protect peoples who are

working in the project.

With these individuals we will perform our action. Three groups will be made by these persons. We will cover:

Identifying local brothels. Search for brothel born children. Building consciousness among their mother about their education and or other objectives. Identifying the orphan children and trying to rescue them and got them but to shelter center.

The one year planned output to will be

• 3 courses, each consisting of 6 modules.• Providing guidebooks for each module participant.• 365 days module runs.• 100 certified graduates of the program.• At least one shelter center for rescued children.• A report consisting of all activities by us and local NGO’S.

Conclusion We are requesting support from OXFAM Our project is specially made for ensuring proper education and rehabilitation for brothel born children. We think this project will run well and make a massive social achievement if funds can be collected well. Our short term goal is to help the brothel born children with education and other human basic needs in Jamalpur. Next we will run mega projects through the whole country in the long term. We have already got support from local NGO’S and other organizations. We have seen some NGO’S are so much active with their work. But some NGO’S are not able to do work efficiently for lack of funds; we will try to help these NGO’S to work effectively. We believe that the mission and vision we have and the planning that we have prepared is so much realistic and workably. We think it with quality us to make success of this project. The volunteers and others who are working with us are highly skilled and efficient.
