Coretta Scott King stated, "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." Our Bismarck community showcases its greatness each and every day through their support of our teachers, staff and students. The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation is honored to have the ability to assist in facilitating these efforts. As we are off to a great start to another year, the BPS Foundation would like to provide you with some information on two of our major partners.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

BISMARCK COMMUNITY SUPPORTS TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN THE 2021/22 SCHOOL YEAR

Energy Tech Systems knows the importance of living by the golden rule to treat others as you would like to be treated. They are proud to showcase their community support and recognize students within the BPS district who have emulated these qualities. The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation Student of the Week features run from October to May and recognize students from across our district by featuring them on the BPSF website, Facebook, and the Bismarck Tribune.

Each elementary school within the BPS district is recognized once per semester, and the students of the quarter for the secondary schools are recognized on a quarterly basis. For more information on this program, please go to: https:/ /www.bpsfoundation.com/partners/student-of-the-week/

Tri-Energy Cooperative has announced a partnership with the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation called Gallons of Gratitude, which is meant to recognize the excellence of our teachers despite the ongoing challenges they face. For every fill up at Cenex-branded fuel stations, a portion of the transaction will go to support our teachers? supply and educational experience budgets for their classrooms. This year, Tri-Energy Cooperative will provide $250,000 to local public-school foundations in Bismarck, Mandan and Dickinson. Locally, this donation will enable the BPS Foundation to provide $140 in reimbursements so that over 1000 BPS teachers may enhance the learning within their classrooms.

Denley Vennes, CEO at Tri-Energy cooperative states, ?As a local business operator, I can appreciate the challenges facing our community in recent times. As a cooperative, it?s our mission to face those challenges head on by empowering our members and strengthening the communities in which we operate. One of the best ways we can do that is to invest in the people that make a critical investment in our youth.?

Bismarck Public Schools started off the school year on Thursday, August 26th with a record-breaking 13,550 students. The following video was shared with teachers within Bismarck to announce this new program at the All Staff Orientation on Monday, August 23rd:https://youtu.be/5r3Qch0dInE
