I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the joint working partnership between home and school. As the most prominent figures in a young child’s life, it is essential we share information, concerns and celebrate successes. That way we are able to help children make good progress and become life-long learners in and out of a school setting. We truly value the support we get from parents and families and know that it makes what we do for the children so much more meaningful. Sport Relief The children and staff looked resplendent in their sporty clothing last week and they both loved the activities organised throughout the day, especially the staff v children football match. A special mention goes to Damilare in Australia class for his superb defending against Mr Al-Mamun’s goal-bound shot – truly heroic. The Reception children ran around the park, had races and all joined together in the hall to sing and dance to the sport relief song Easter Booster Classes Y2 and Y6 Thank you for the response to the offer of booster classes over the first week of the Easter break. Please ensure the children arrive by 8:50am at the front of- fice as the lessons will start promptly at 9:00am. It is important that the chil- dren attend every day if they are to get the most out of the sessions. Have a restful Easter break. Try and ensure you and your children get plenty of rest, but also try to do something fun and exciting like visit the park, go on a bike ride or go to central London and see the sights. We will see you all on Monday April 16 th . Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank You

Thank you for all the support you have given the school this term. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the joint working partnership between home and school. That way we are able to help children make good progress and become life-long learners in and out of a school setting. Big Talk Home Learning

If children can't say it then children can't write it.

Dear All, This weekend’s BTHL 30th / 31st March / 1st April

Last weekend the clocks went forward by one hour.

If you had the power to fast-forward time or to rewind time, what would you

do and why?

News from the Lower Phase Reception

Reception Birthdays

This week we celebrated…

Farhan & Safiya

We started this week by learning about how everybody is different and how and why people

celebrate different festivals and occasions. We have been looking at the ways Christians

celebrate Easter, and traditions that take place at this special time of the year. The children have

immersed themselves in lots of different activities such as an Egg hunt, making Easter baskets,

decorating their own eggs, writing cards, ordering numbered eggs and much more. Everyone’s

highlight of this week was an egg and spoon race. It was lots of fun, but really tricky as the eggs

kept rolling off the wooden spoon. The children didn’t give up though and made sure they

finished the race.

The children have also revisited and reviewed their learning and had conversations about the

things they particularly enjoyed this term and the things that they thought could be improved. It is

lovely to see how much the children have grown in confidence and are able to express their

views and opinions freely.

We hope you have a lovely Easter holiday and we are looking forward to the Summer term when

our topic will be Travelling and Explorers - Where can we go? So over the holiday, why not

explore with your children different ways of travelling such as by foot, bicycle, car, train, taxi, bus,

ferry, boat, aeroplane, or other means during your holidays?

Attendance 19/03/2018— 23/03/2018

Term time leave:

“Changes in the law mean that the Headteacher no

longer has discretion to allow pupils to take term time

leave.

If you take your child out of school for any reason you

will receive a fine of £60 per child per parent if paid

within 21 days. If this fine were not paid within the time

limit, the penalty would rise to £120 which must be paid

within 28 days.

This means that the mum will be fined £60 for each

child and the dad will be fined £60 for each child.

The government monitors school attendance

and punctuality. They look at persistent absence and

lateness. If your child has attendance of 90% or less

they are deemed persistent absences and we are asked

to follow this up and refer to the Local Authority who

could take you to court. At court, the penalty is either a

very large fine of up to £2,500 or imprisonment.

Please avoid keeping your child off school unless they

are very sick and certainly DO NOT TAKE THEM OUT

OF SCHOOL WHEN THE SCHOOL IS OPEN. Please wait

until the holidays.’’ Miss Anjum - Attendance Officer

Well done to Argentina class who have the highest

attendance of 100%. I have highlighted Antigua, Cuba,

Dominica, Cameroon, Morocco, England & Wales whose

attendance has been far too low.

All student's attendance is expected to be maintained at

100% and anything below 96% is unacceptable.

Please remember to send your child to
