In 1984 and 1985, Woodville tax rates were dropped, hitting 20.9 cents in 1985. But in 1986, Babin voted to raise the rates back up to 23 cents.

As a member of the Woodland Independent School Board in September 1992, Babin moved for the adoption of a tax rate of $0.4631 per $100 valuation, a tax hike.

Utility Rate Hikes and Miscellaneous Fee Hikes

In January 1983, then-Woodville Mayor Babin voted for a gas rate hike.

(City of Woodville Minutes, January 17, 1983) In February 1983, then-Woodville Mayor Babin voted for a cable TV rate hike of over 10%.

(City of Woodville Minutes, February 14, 1983) In June 1983, then-Woodville Mayor Babin voted for a 50% utility hike on those outside the city limits.
